Nope
I couldn't even finish the book. The way the lead female character lied about everything was just repulsive. In a real situation, that would never happen. To actually claim to have been raped is horrifying!! If it actually happened, that's acceptable. But to make it up and keep all those feelings silent to have misunderstanding after misunderstanding was just too much to handle. I'm so unbelievably pissed at this author. I quit reading at page 147. I was literally sick of all the bullshit. Again, where are the strong honest characters in these books? Don't waste your time reading this one. Im deleting it from my library without finishing it.

The story continues where the last book left off Alek is now the Pakhan of the Valkov Bratva after killing his uncle Pavel. The Valkov Bratva was considered the most powerful and dangerous put with Pavel at the helm the other Bratva's tried to destroy them and would've been successful if it hadn't been for Alek. They're now up against the Mexican Cartel with Steven Murphy as their biggest nemesis. We see the story beginning with the oldest Valkov dying great-great uncle Henri with all five Valkov brothers in attendance. The night before their great uncle died he tells the boys to change the future. Nikolai Valkov a.k.a. is a Bratva spy and killer for the Valkov Bratva. Nikolai longed to have what his brother Alek and Mila has and as dreamed of settling down with a special woman. But he doubts he would ever get the chance to do so. Only one person had ever made him interested in more than just a quick hard fuck and that person was Amy. She was the single woman who'd made him wish for a lasting commitment like his brother shares with his wife, but it was an impossible feat for him to achieve.
Amy was nothing more than a one night stand he had the pleasure to enjoy a month ago. And for weeks he had not been able to get her off his mind. He replayed the moments that they shared constantly hot sizzling flashbacks of her delectable naked flesh. Needy loud cries of pure bliss. Even he could find Amy again he know that she wouldn't be interested. She was innocent, good and far removed from the brutal reality that came with being involved in the Bratva. The Valkovs had taken care of the Kastava Bratva but now they had another enemy The Ortez Cartel trying to muscle into their territory. Harrow's is a strip club own by the Bratva and was by far the most successful and lucrative club and the Cartel members had been causing trouble there and the security can't control them. Nikolai was hoping to run into Amy again because the bar was near by and if he did happen to see her again he was planning on stalking her. He went to Harrow's to scope it out and couldn't believe his luck when he saw Amy there with her friend. He watched her from across the room hidden by the shadows until he saw her leaving then he followed her. He then caught up with her in the alley and kissed her. He was planning on fucking her again since he was sober to see if he could stop thinking about her when he heard that cop who had it out for them. He left her and went back to Harrow's but it was too late when he saw Steven Murphy of the Ortez Cartel and his other cop friend laughing and walking away.
It was too late by the time he had re-entered the strip club, the Cartel members had begun their attack and the aftermath wasn't pretty, four dancer's were killed and there was a lot of property damage and many scared clientele. The Valkovs Bratva was not going to take that disrespect and was going to hit them where it hurts by attacking their human trafficking ring. Amy Simmons is a twenty-two year old who has had a rough upbringing and became an orphan at the age of three and since then her life had lacked stability. She was in and out of one foster home after another, then once she turns eighteen in and out of junky apartments. Amy is a struggling vet tech and very low down on the totem pole and drowning in debt. She's alone in this world. All she ever wanted was meet a stable man she could marry and to be a part of something bigger, to belong and fit in with a huge family where everyone looked out for each other. She never had a family, never had support, and it felt like a pipe dream most days of wanting to belong. Amy started experiencing a stomach bug a couple weeks after sleeping with Nate. She doesn't understand why it has stuck around so long.
She knows that she can't be pregnant and the reason was she was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome when she was a teenager and the doctors were very clear that she would never be able to successfully get pregnant or keep a baby. Amy was walking home late from work one night she was so deep in thoughts of possibly being pregnant that she wasn't paying attention to her surroundings and it was too late to notice the group of masked thugs approaching her. A van idle on the road and as soon as the panel door slide open the men rushed her she didn't even had time to react. She was taking to a warehouse with other women who also there to be sold. Diego Martinez, he was one of the Cartel's wealthy backers came in and one look at her and he had paid a substantial amount of money three million dollars to be exact. But when the Valkovs raided the place she was taken by Nikolai. She was the one woman who he wanted and he couldn't be without her.
Diego had been hunting for her and had even kill his security and some of the Cartel's soldiers in his search for her because he believed that she belongs to him. When Mila went to see her in Nikolai room after he was kidnapped, she realized that she was pregnant in fear that the Nikolai would take her baby away from her if they know that it was Nikolai she lied to Mila and said that she was raped. This information devastate Nikolai because he wanted her to be carrying his baby, but he still vowed to keep her safe from Diego. But she doesn't want to be apart of that world and asked him to let her leave. Will Nikolai eventually find out that she was lying and that she was carrying his baby? And how would he react to her being deceptive? Will be forgive her for lying to protect her child?

Amy and Nikolai’s story is fast-paced, action-packed and intense. They agreed to a one-night stand, but both can’t forget that passionate night, the connection they felt or each other. Though they have been unable to find each other in the month or so since that night for a variety reasons, Fate seems determined to push them together. A second meeting, another passionate encounter and once again, they go their separate ways. Nikolai decides he must put her out of his mind and his heart because she is young and innocent, too pure for his dark and dangerous world.
Once again, Fate steps in, and it is Nikolai and his men who rescue Amy and her fellow captives after they are kidnapped by the cartel for the purpose of sex trafficking. This time, he can’t let Amy go. Though both feel the connection between them, neither is ready to reveal it or any deeper feelings. His dangerous life, her need for independence and a surprise pregnancy all serve to add to the hurdles they face in their relationship. Add in the lies Amy has told and an obsessed, sadistic Cartel boss who wants her for himself, and their situation seems impossible to navigate. Part of The Volkov Bratva series - hang on don’t blink and you might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified possessive, oh so gorgeous, brooding all three makings of a story consisting with the three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, darkness, secrets revealed, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love somewhere along the way! We pick up where the last one left off with the brother’s forcing the uncle out taking over the family business working together to ensure things run smoothly and making Alek the Pakhan. Nikolai the muscle behind a lot meets the beautiful Veterinary Tech. they connect one night of passion, but both walk away with a lasting impression neither of them can’t forget the other nor can they find one another. Until he saves her after being kidnapped by the cartel and of course he saves her with a promise of protections, ensuring to keep her safe, he gives her everything she needs but he also invites a bad man who thinks she should be his but they need to realize Nikolai is dangerous, ruthless on a good day, deadly every day, overprotective when it comes when it comes to family or those he loves and she is in the boat of those he cares for but is he prepared for battle, will all secrets come to light, and where are they head maybe to a little happiness?

Nikolai Younger Brother of the new Packhan of the Russian Bratva, he’s a spy and a killer. He has a one night stand with a local vet tech, Amy, and can’t get her off his mind. He regrets leaving and not giving her his real name. When he is on an assignment spying for his family, he sees Amy again and can’t stop himself from kissing her before they once again part ways. For their third meeting Nikolai rescues Amy when she is kidnapped by the Mexican Cartel with other woman to be sold. After all these meetings, Nikolai decides to stop fighting her pull and takes her to his home. Little does hie know she is hiding a secret that will change them both.
I liked this book, Nikolai is of course morally grey but in the best way. His pull to Amy is undeniable but he knows that he is not good enough for her. Amy is fighting her own abandonment issues and she is understandably afraid of Nikolai because not only has he been lying about his identity but he also doesn’t exactly clear up her misconception that he “rescued” her only to lead her into the same fate the Cartel had in store for her. At the heart of this book is the idea that family is ahead of everything and family is what Amy is missing. I love a good morally grey MMC and Nikolai gives all the steam. Great read.

Ava Gray has done it again with tors book!!! I loved the first book in this series and devoured this book in one day. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next with Amy and Nikolai. This book is past of a series and should be read in order because it has an ongoing storyline. This storyline is exciting, suspenseful and has a little action thrown in it. I loved the originality of this book; it was heartbreaking and had my feelings experiencing it all. I laughed, cried and first-pumped a few times. The characters were complex and had an undeniable chemistry.
Amy was independent, feisty and has a steel backbone. I loved her determination throughout this book. She knew how to take care of herself and I really enjoyed reading such a strong female character. Nikolai was intense, broody and loyal. I loved his obsessive and possessive nature towards Amy. Both characters were like attracting magnets to each other and i loved the push and pull they both experienced. They were kismet and I loved reading their story. I can’t wait to see what comes next from Ava Gray.

Nik and Amy. Hes Bratva. A Valkov brother. A spy and killer. Shes a vet tech. Working her way through school. Hes intense and shes determened. They meet in a bar one night and spend it together. Shes Amy and hes Nate, he was in disguise. Hes obssessed with finding her again and she doesnt want anyone but him. Shes kidnapped by the cartel and he saves her. OMG what a great story I was writing this synopsis while reading but I just couldnt get it all in without giving so much away because there is so much going on. I wanted to divulge every paragraph. You're just going to have to read for yourself. You wont be disappointed. I couldnt put it down. Theres cops involved with the cartel. The cartel keeps coming onto their turf stirring up trouble. I mean utter mafia chaos. Lets not forget the alpha possessivness and obssession and protection and the passion between these two and his vibe of touch her and die and I could go on and on and on but yea pick it up but wont be able to put down. Cant wait for more. Of course mafia is one of my guilty pleasures.

Amy a Vet Tech cannot stop thinking about her one night with her mysterious man. When Nikolai sees Amy weeks later while he’s working the intensity he has to be with Amy is undeniable. Amy is taken by the Cartel to be sold to the highest bidder she knows her life is over. Kept by the Bratva is quite a suspenseful mafia romance book as well as a page-turner. I didn’t want to set this book down because the plot of the book had me completely captivated from the beginning and held my attention and interest all the way to the last page of the book. Kept by the Bratva is the second story in The Valkov Bratva series which is another fabulous mafia romance book written by Ava Gray. Kept by the Bratva follows the journey of Amy and Nikolai. Amy is a vet technician while Nikolai is a Bratva spy and killer. The chemistry between Amy and Nikolai is quite spicy hot as well as electrifying. I absolutely love the fact that Amy and Nikolai have a happy ending to their amazing story. Kept by the Bratva is a mafia romance which I would encourage anyone to read. It has steamy scenes, action-packed, suspenseful, and overall, an amazing book. I can hardly wait to read more amazing book by Ava Gray.

Amy and Nikolai had a one night stand and couldn’t stop thinking about each other. She gets kidnapped and was going to be sold by a rival cartel. Nikolai finds her, takes her to his home and doesn’t want to let her go. She’s pregnant from the ONS with Nikolai and in a moment of panic, claims that she was r@ped. She sticks to that story for a bit until she has a medical problem and finally confesses the truth. Thankfully she didn’t falsely accuse anyone.
This is the 2nd book in the series and it seems SA is going to be mentioned or it’s a subplot in all of them, so be warned if that’s your trigger. Frankly, I don’t agree with Amy’s reason for falsely claiming she was SA at all. Bad decision all around and it left a bad impression of her. Nikolai was understanding and kind and very protective of Amy. Looking forward to the next book, Ivan’s story.

Another amazing story from Ava! I was hooked from the start and read it in a day!

During one job he met Amy, a beautiful woman inside and out that he thought would never understand his worlds. He is infatuated by her and one taste was not enough. Amy can’t get the one night out of her head either and knows she will never see him again until the war between the Bratva and cartel escalate and he finds her held hostage by the cartel. The book is a great addition to the collection and I can’t wait to read more about the other characters.

Nikolai and Amy's story keeps you glued to your book. They had a hot and steamy one night stand and it left its mark because they can't forget each other. But nothing is as it is because Nikolai wasn't who he said he was and gave a false name and Amy moved to another city. When they meet she doesn't know yet that he is the Bratva and that he wanted to keep her safe and he doesn't know that she has a secret too. Will they come clean to each other and grab a second chance at happiness and love? Great story and one that I definitely recommend reading.

This is a exciting, page-turning romance about Nikolai and Amy. Nikolai and Amy share a wonderful night together. Nikolai gives a fake name to Amy, because he is part of the Valkov Bratva. Amy is an innocent, she knows nothing of that kind of life.

Nik is the stoic, spy brother who meets Amy and has a one night stand. But weeks later he still wants her. Only he can't find her. And he gave her a false name so she wouldn't be able to find him either.
But if it's meant to be Fate will intervene, and it does. Boy, does it ever. A great story I couldn't read fast enough.

One HEA filled with surprises
The chemistry pulling together Amy and Nikolai was irresistible. The both fell at the same time but I think Nik might have fallen harder between the two of them.
It started out with some intense encounters. The family was definitely present and integrated into the storyline as they continued on the legacy from the first book.

Últimamente mis lecturas han dejado mucho que desear. No estoy segura si soy yo el problema o qué está pasando 🙃
No me gustó, al inicio me parecía bien, tenía buena pinta pero los últimos 3/4 (((???
Hubo de todo menos comunicación entre los protagonista xD. Y la mentira de la protagonista para "protegerse" me pareció súper innecesaria e incluso desagradable, mi moral no me permite jugar con algo así de cruel, he leído cosas desagradables pero este tema me llega.
En fin, no creo leer los demás libros.

After a hot night that Amy cannot seem to forget, she starts running into Nik at odd places but that is not all. Amy seems to be having horrible luck and finds out the truth about Nik. Crazy, lots of danger, and steamy the story was lots of action and fun to read and a good mafia story. Loved the characters and these two were a blast. Enjoyed the story and its twists as Amy has a run of bad luck.

There was zero chemistry between the main characters and the story had nothing interesting. After reading the blurb, I thought there will be something intense and thrilling but the plot was very predictable and boring. Also, Amy was just annoying. I didn't like the way she unnecessarily lied about things and Nik wasn't that great either. I couldn't understand how they fell in "love" after just having a one night stand, ngl.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY you can pass up reading this book by Ava. This romance read is INTENSE and HOT from the very first page to the very end. I wish I could give this mafia romance book more than 5 stars it is that great of a book to read. The characters will have you on the edge of your seat due to the gripping suspense they deliver.

After an unforgettable one night stand, both Nikolai and Amy couldn't forget about each other. It was by chance that they meet again and Amy finds out what Nikolai does for a living. It was an almost insta-love type that was sweet and the drama doesn't get dragged put in the plot. It was a fun to read.
