This was my first time reading a Devotional by E.D. Perry so I wasnt sure what to expect but I have to say I really enjoyed this one and the Lessons it offered mainly surrounding Grace and being easy on yourself on the sad emotional days.

I'll definitely use the lessons in this book for everyday life from now on.

Can't wait to read more by E.D. in the future.

Be Still is a book written by the author E.D/ Perry when he was alive about his study of the bible. A close friend of the author Ron L. Frey was gifted these writings over the years from the author and is now sharing E.D's work with all of us readers:)

E.D. was a biblical scholar in his life, and it shows in his lessons on the bible. This book called Be Still has got great Christian lessons for all Christian believers out there. The author talks about Christian codes of conduct. Two of the most important of these to me are:

1. Do not allow wine to distort your thinking of your actions. When I was younger, I did let the drink distort my views on things. I do not imbibe that much anymore and very sparingly nowadays as I like my head clear for what life has to throw at me.
2. Walk carefully- not as a foolish person but as a wise person. I did a lot of foolish things as a younger person also and I find getting into my middle-aged years now I am working harder on being careful. Especially since I just realized I am not young anymore when I broke my wrist skating, a little over a month ago.

The rest of the book is a very well written discussion about a few books in the bible called Philippians, Colossians, Philemon, and Ephesians. The author wrote compelling arguments/discussion points for belief in Jesus and God in this book. Again, I say if you are a Christian, you will LOVE this book and want to from the beginning of the book to the end without setting it down. It is fantastic for believers in God and his son Jesus.

This was such an inspiring read! I love to find books that talk about my faith and help me get closer to the Lord. This was a book that did just that. The lessons are all so encouraging and fun. The author has a way with words that really speaks to you and helps you understand without being overly wordy. I definitely recommend this one to people of the Christian faith!

Be Still: Lessons from an Angel by E D Perry is a study of Philippians, Colossians, Philemon, and Ephesians from the Bible. The studies of Philippians "How Inner Happiness is Acquired" is broken into five lessons, Colossians "Why Jesus is Worth of Our Trust" into six lessons, Philemon "An Application of Christian Doctrine" into one lesson, and Ephesians "The Body of Christ" into ten lessons. These lessons give commentary on each chapter of the Biblical texts. I loved getting more insight into these books of the Bible. I believe it is helpful on my own journey of Spiritual growth. I found the lessons gave me better understanding and gave me a reminder on the beauty of faith. I thought it was a good book that demonstrates the power of God that was inspiring to me. It would be a great way to start off the day by reading it every morning.



I am going to give Be Still: Lessons from an Angel a very well deserved five plus stars. I believe readers who enjoy reading Christian Non Fiction and Biblical Studies. I will be keeping my copy handy to read again and again for years to come. I would be interested in more releases from E D Perry in the future and seeing what other studies, lessons, and books from the Great Book he will cover.

No matter what your relationship with the Bible is, this book adds a nice layer of insight into it and if you are like me, someone who loves seeing various interpretations and points of view of different teachings, you will find plenty of thought-provoking ideas here. Theological studies for me have always been in the same field as philosophy. Something to read and learn from. Not to learn and reproduce what someone else has said, but to learn what someone else has said and look at it through my own mind’s eye, to form my own opinion about it, to see if I agree with it, and to see why I do or don’t.

I'm not Christian but occasionally I read books about other faiths just to satiate my curiosity. That's how this ended up on my reading list. The book is mostly biblical lessons but the interesting bit is the spiritual takeaways E. D. Perry has written down. For me personally, I couldn't get too deep into the meaning because the book is deeply rooted in the Bible and Christian Faith as a whole.

What I personally liked about the book is the hinting at how a spiritual retreat and stillness can go a long way to having a healthy mental well-being. Highly recommended to all my Christian friends.

What a beautiful legacy Ed left behind, and a great tribute to have lessons he made for his friends into a published book by a friend who wanted to share these studies. The lessons all short, with a special topic, Bible scholar Ed, had in his heart. From drinking, to having a clean mouth, and much more, these include Bible references to support Ed’s teachings. I think this great book for a new born Christian or an old Christian wanting a refresher.

I was given a copy and a good review was not a requirement. These thoughts are my own opinion.

This book enhances your spiritual connection with God even for non believers like myself. It encourages your faith and I feel like I could believe. The writing is evocative and if you listen to the silence you will hear the faith. I enjoyed reading more about the Christian religion and spirituality.
