Britt has done it again. Another fantastic story. I laughed I cried. I wish it wasn’t a novella I want it to be longer. It was heartbreaking but it was also nice to see the main characters come back together after everything.

This book is amazing.
The way the main characters find their way back to eachother. After someone drove them apart. The strong bond they had turns out to still be there. And the death off someone dear to both off them throws them back together again. There is heartbreak, laughs, sparks and so much more in this book. It will keep you intressted and invested from beginning to end. It is a short and fast read but so worth it. The storyline is so so good.
Connor and Cara's story wil be a hard one to put away at least it was that way for me.

The One!!! I don't think I can find the right words to describe how much I loved this short novel by Britt Lynn!
Amazing, heart wrenching, jaw dropping are a few I can think of, but they are not enough to give this book justice.
Britt does an amazing job writing her characters and developing a storyline that will break and rip your heart out one minute but then make you giddy and giggle the next, then break your heart all over again. She also loves to keep you guessing while you pick your jaw up off the floor!!
I fell in love with Connor and Cara after chapter 2, after bawling my eyes out in chapter 1. Their history, their chemistry, their growth, is EVERYTHING you hope to read in a book.
I can't wait for the next book of hers, because I will devour it just like I did with The One!!

I enjoyed this book! It was an extremely easy read. Given that it's a Christmas novella, it made a good segway read into the holiday season (and the next books in the nighthawk series)!
Cara and Connor's chemistry? Absolutely unmatched. I loved them together, and I am happy they were able to communicate what had happened and move forward so quickly! They are definitely meant to be together, and I am looking forward to getting to know them even more during the next books, even if they are only side characters!
Although my sensitive self wishes they reconnected over something not so heartbreaking, I am glad they were able to turn something tragic into something beautiful. But seriously Britt, why did he have to die!!! (Don't worry, this isn't a spoiler). My heart shattered for Amy, Cara, and Conner. Why couldn't a mutual acquaintance or something pass so it was less sad🙁
I can't wait to see them grow through the eyes of the other nighthawk family members!!

Where do I even start? This short novel was absolutely amazing, a bit heart breaking and absolutely jaw dropping.
I’ve been dying to read this book since the moment Britt teased it. She does such an amazing job writing these stories, these characters and their backgrounds.
This was beautifully written and it takes you down a rollercoaster of emotions one minute you are crying the next you are smiling from ear to ear. I couldn’t even guess what was going to happen next but she broke my heart and then pieced it back together.
I cannot wait to read more of her books and see what other jaw dropping moments are going to happen. I absolutely devoured this book it was that good. You want to add this to your TBR immediately.

What a wild ride!! This short story starts out and strong and continues that way through the entire story! It has the perfect blend of plot and spice! I love Conner and Cara and the journey they go on!! What an amazing story by this amazing author!!! You also get a little guest appearance from the characters in Puck it! Unless you are a heartless individual like myself you will need a box of tissues because you will have tears!

This is a small romancy second chance Novella.
Cara - Owns a florist and is busy preparing her customers Christmas arrangements.
She found out her best friends husband had tragically died in an accident.
Juggling between working and supporting her best friend, she thought it would be the best thing to try and contact her ex boyfriend who was best friends with her friend who died.
She wasn't over Connor, she still loved him and knew he was her 'the one'. She ended their relationship thinking it would be best for him. She didn't want to ruin his hockey career.
Connor - Is a professional hockey player, he moved away from his small home town after his breakup, he was set to visit his best friend.
Before his hockey Game one of his old friends told him about the death of his best friend, he drove all night to make it back tor his funeral, he made it buy missed half of it.
He saw her, his ex cara, he wasn't over her, he loved her still and knew she was 'his the one'
Connor then found out his coach had known but failed to tell him about the death of his best friend.
This is a cute small Christmasy time romance of two lovers reconnecting for a second chance. It was short but beautifully written, it was a tear jerker for sure!!
This isn't the novel if Britt's I have read and it most certainly won't be the last!
I would highly reccomend this book.

The One by Britt Lynn is a hockey romance novel. I am just so blown away by this beautiful story. Britt Lynn is such a talented writer who really brings out the emotions and stories in her characters. I almost felt as if I was immersed in the tale with the characters. The plot is packed full of situations that almost could be real and told as they happened to someone not just a character. Very rarely do I get emotional over books but this one definitely got me.
Cara is such an amazing character with so much love to give for everyone in her life. To see everything she goes through is really what emotionally got to me. Then there is Connor who has a heart of gold who luckily is willing to fight for who he loves. This couple is end game and they deserve to fight for their love.
Another great novel by this author and I could not recommend her more. Definitely if you love sports contemporary novels check her out. You will NOT regret it.

Yet again Britt has hit it out the park with another brilliant five star read 😍 this Christmas novella had me in all my feels. From the word jump I was pretty much in tears and that wasnt the only time either! It made me smile, cry and be a little bit angry at the storyline.
I loved the characters in this and want to know more about them and their past. I absolutely love where Britt is going with them and all I have to say is I NEED MORE it definitely just felt like a teaser novella 😂 I need to know what happens next!!
I would 100% recommend this especially as a cosy pre Christmas read it so got me in the spirit and ready to start celebrating Christmas already 😂 so if you haven’t yet go put this on your TBR and pre order it comes out November 23rd (the day before my birthday😉).

This story hit home so much. Growing up
In rural Quebec surrounded by hockey my whole life, l love Britt Lynn’s raw writing. You can feel the emotions through it and that makes it so much more relatable.
If I only had one negative comment, IT IS WAY TOO SHORT! I really enjoyed it tho (yup I was done under 2hrs!)
I was an ugly duckling and the tallish chubby girl until I graduated high school but my dreams and fantasies were filled with stories like this. It brings me back to simpler time.
Cara & Connor’s love story is pretty romantic and I love how it is set up for more to come…. Maybe?! Who know

Britt has done it again!!! This was a short Christmas hockey romance. I was in tears at one point because I was so invested in the characters. Whenever Britt writes she makes you connect on a deep and personal level with the characters.
A tragic event has brought together Cara and Connor once again after being apart for years. He wants answers as to why she just walked away and she was just trying to protect his future. But now that they are back in the same place together they are forced to face the past they had together.
All I know, Britt Lynn is now an automatic buy for me! Give me all the hockey romances!

Wow! This was absolutely incredible. I could not put it down literally. I binged this in three hours I just needed to know what was happening next and what was coming next through this.
Did I cry? Yes. It wouldn’t be a Britt Lynn book if she didn’t make me cry at least twice through her words.
These two pulled my heart strings many times and had me laughing, crying and smiling throughout. The spicy scenes had my mouth jaw dropping not gonna lie.
This was so amazing and I can’t wait for what Britt has next for me to binge through. Her work speaks to me and I always come crawling back for more.

Ya'all this was the CUTEST fricken Christmas Novella!
The pictures on the inside were STUNNING! (All photos in the video are from the book.)
Connor and Cara were absolutely adorably swoon worthy.
This is a second chance, small town, first love hockey Romance.
They met in highschool, were together for 8 years when heartbreak happened.
After a friend passes they are brought together and both decide they should give it a chance.
This was perfect little Hallmark read. I ate this up. This will be a re read next year because it's just to perfect!!!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND for your Christmas read!! Get the physical copy because the pictures are amazing 😍

This book will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride with ups downs and emotions you didn’t know you could feel . Connor and Cara an amazing second chance story and couple has had me sucked in as I follow their story to know what ends up happening with them. This is a quick short read and one you can just get lost in and definitely not want to put down. Hockey, Christmas, a love story that rips your heart out and more is anything but amazing, who could ask for more? Definitely a recommended read for me!!

I am a sucker for hockey books and the fact that Britt Lynn writes hockey romance—made me wanna read all her books.
The One had me crying within the first few pages. How Amy reacts at Kyle’s funeral—honestly I had to put the book down and cry with her for a moment but when Connor shows up and the tension builds with him and Cara-I couldn’t put it down.
Spicy level isn’t high-id give it a 1 on the spicy scale.
But this was such a good book and to be able to promote this book for her—it’s an honor! Loved it!

🥹 This book completely broke my heart, yet healed it all at the same time. This story gave me all the feels in this second chance romance and it was just beautiful. It’s a shorter story so I’m not gonna give any spoilers… but Cara and Connor are perfect together. If you want a story that you can read in one sitting and give you all the feels while reading then look no more. 10/10 read for me and can’t wait to read what other amazing stories this author will create.

Being completely honest, I could actually relate to Cara & Connor's relationship and I'm so happy they've managed to come back together again and make it work for them both!

Britt did an amazing job at turning a story of grief into a second chance romance between two high school sweethearts. It was done in such a lovely way to incorporate their high school love and the love that was always there being rekindled in such a short story. Sometimes letting go of the one that is meant for is hard but sometimes it worth it just to feel it all again one day. That’s exactly how Britt wrote Cara and Connor’s story and I hope we get to see them again one day.

What a Christmas novella! Connor and Cara’s story is both heartbreaking and beautiful. The way it pulled on my heartstrings. This was beautifully written, with a perfect blend of spice and plot.
I have a feeling we will be seeing more of Connor and Cara. I can’t wait to read Britt’s next book!

The one heartwarming and heart wrenching story. It is filled with so many emotions, betrayal, romance, friendship, forgiveness, and spice to keep you warm.

This was the perfect little palate cleanser. It's short, it's sweet, a little heartbreaking but nothing too crazy. If you're looking for something low spice, less than 200 pages, holiday romance, this is it. Also, who doesn't love a sweetheart hockey player? And a second chance romance? There was no way I couldn't love this.

This was yet another amazing read from Britt!
This novella not only had me going through all the emotions but left me with so many as well.
I thought about this book for a week after reading it. 🥺
Connor and Cara’s story was so beautiful. I really loved how even though they were apart for a while they managed to find their way back to each other.
It may have happened after a serious heartbreaking event but that event gave them a second chance and showed them they were meant to be together.

This beautiful story of true love and second chances was absolutely beautiful as always this author never fails to make me reach for the Kleenex box and sob. The real issue that are always in there stories is always another fine touch on how they put it all together .
