Finn Donaghey is on the run. Rescued by Carys Van de Berg, his old flame, Finn is searching for a way to start over after losing everything in a bloody shootout. The one person he knows he can't be around? Carys. He's too rough, too dangerous, too lethal.
Carys saved Finn on instinct, unable to consider a world without him in it. Now, she must decide what to do with him. His quick temper almost got her killed once, and she has no desire to repeat that mistake.
While Carys has been helping Finn, someone has been helping themselves to Carys’s business. When the danger lands on her doorstep, Finn won’t rest until she’s safe again. As their feelings from the past and present mingle and danger lurks around every corner, their fiery chemistry threatens to consume them both.
This story is the first installment of Carys and Finn's story. Their story concludes in Redemption.
This is a second chance mafia romance with low level, open door, spice.

Resurrection by Wendy Million is live and I recommend this book to all the romantic suspense lovers. It was great to go back and get to know more about The Donaghey Brothers, Finn and especially Carys, a fierce and stormy female character that I wish she was a real person and my friend. The suspense kept me on the edge from the first page to the last throughout the book and the chemistry is definitely of the charts between them. I just loved every single word of this beautiful story about family and friends and loyalty and most of all, the power of love that can move mountains in the end.
This is the second book in the Donaghey Brothers series, and I loved this book as much as the first one!
The plot had me at the edge of my seat with suspense, romance, steamy scenes and twists and turns. I loved every bit of this book, and the pace was perfect - not too slow or too fast. Resurrection continues where Retribution (#1 book) ended, but this time it's from Finn and Carys' point of view. It was unexpected, but I loved it!
There is so much depth and complexity in every single character. The view into Finn and Carys' backgrounds gave the reader a better understanding of their actions and personality. I loved both characters so much, but there was definitely something special about getting to know Finn better. They are simply the perfect couple, and they have so much love for each other. You're hit by all kinds of emotions while reading Resurrection.
Million is such a talented writer and it's definitely shown in this series. I can't wait for the third book in this series!
You should read this book if you like: - Bad boys - A strong female lead - A plot that offers you the perfect combination of romance and suspense - Incredible and complex characters - Humor
[Thank you to Wendy Million who gifted me a free copy in exchange of an honest review]
I’d like to thank Wendy for sending me an e-arc of this book it is very much appreciated I read the first book Retribution and loved it! Broke my heart and fixed me all in one. When that book ended I was gutted because I wanted Finn to be okay and have a nice life and then I found out there was going to be a second book and I’d get to know that. But let me tell you. I just finished the book. I DID NOT GET TO KNOW THAT. I did not sign up for this pain and heartbreak and crying and it’s what I got. Again never be more annoyed that a book ended. Like I’m happy we’re eventually going to get another book but the wait will kill me.
Finn in the first book he was an asshat but a loveable asshat in this book I just fell even more in love with him. It was so nice reading in his pov and seeing how much he loved Carys and just wanted to protect her even before they got together properly in the book. Just the little things, and how he thought staying away from her was best. Those little things told a whole story of how he just wanted the best for her.
Carys has been through shit in her life but she’s managed to get past it and move on almost all of it except Finn. He’s the one person that forever is in the back of her mind, because deep down they both know they end game. Carys story broke my heart of how the original attack actually happened and her stepping in front of that knife for Finn and then having miscarriages and slowly losing her hope to be a mother it was heartbreaking.
So much happened in this book and so much I don’t want to say because trust me you do not want to be spoiled in this book it throws so many twists and turns. It settles you in and then slap something else happens and you don’t know what the hell is happening. I loved how Wendy manages to construct the plots and subplots so easily and line up to actually make sense and still not even see them coming. She’s honestly so brilliant and I love it.
The writing is amazing it draws me into the story immediately, she writes great characters that are totally 3D they don’t just feel like placeholders even all the side characters mean something in the book and I love that. I love the plot, the characters it’s all written so well. Also the sex scenes in this book, she knows how to write them and low key I love them.
So there was a point in this book where I thought yeah Carys, Finn and Lucas (I not telling who he is) will get out of this life, they’ll live on the run nice and happy and just be free. You know Wendy proper set us up for that, and let me tell you I did not get that. I was sobbing when the thing at the end happens. I was so comfortable and so sure that my babies would be happy together and just enjoy being with each other. I didn’t even see it coming. This is why I don’t get attached to bloody criminals because realistically they never going to get a happy ending. I should have known when I thought they were going to live happy. Like nah not going to happen. FBI still on their tail. I sobbed through the ending of this book and lowkey I’m mad about. I was no expecting the twist and it made me so mad and angry and now I just need the next book. I was expecting this to just be a nice lovely happy story of Carys and Finn reconnecting. Which it was. If you take out the criminal part, and the FBI and the other parts. I was not prepared. I should know better.
Eric was a dick. I really did not like Carys father and honestly her dad best get some kind of karma in the next book because I was with Finn. Kill them all probably solved.
Carys and Finn’s relationship there was so much between them from their past in Ireland when she was stabbed to the meeting in Chicago in book 1 to her saving him from the warehouse. So much history and yet so much chemistry and the attraction that these two have, you can just feel it all pouring off the page and you just want them to be happy. I love their relationship they are each other’s weakness and it shows so much throughout the entire book, the way they protect each other are willing to sacrifice everything for each other. I was so happy when they got on the same page.
I liked seeing Lorcan in this book for the small amount of time, I’d say I would like to see him in the next book but I don’t think that will be possible without having thee FBI involved and we don’t want that…
My wish for the next book is Carys, Lucas and Finn to be happy with Jay and Sofia and just be happy. Oh and Lena. I just need happiness. My heart can’t take anymore pain and heartbreak or crying. Honestly though I loved this book so much and I need the next one…
Wendy! Whew, child!!! You know you are soooo wrong for this!!!! I knew Book 2 was going to be juicy after what happened with Lorcan and Kim in Book 1, but I. DID. NOT. EXPECT. THIS!! First of all, let me calm my heart rate down! Geez! 😳 This book had me on the freakin' edge the entire time! I'm talkin' stomach clenching, palpitations, all that!😂
First of all, Carys and Finn--smokin' hot!🔥🔥 Second of all, that damn Eric--WTH?!!!🙄 And finally, what Carys and Finn went through--especially after getting all the details on what Carys' life has been after Finn left her hospital room years ago--my heart can't take any more! I don't know if it's good for my blood pressure to want to get to Book 3 to see what happens with Finn and Carys. Ms. Million just ripped my heart out so damn gooooooood!😩💔
This is the first book I read by Wendy Million. I did not read the first book in the series, Retribution. But, I do not feel that it really impacted my reading, understanding and following Resurrection. Finn and Carys have known each other since childhood. Their relationship comes to abrupt end when circumstances force Finn to walk away from her in an effort to protect her.
Fast forward 17 years. Finn and his brother have built their own empire. Carys has taken over her father’s business and each has moved on with their lives. However, business and betrayal has their paths crossing again, but this time it is Carys saving Finn’s life.
I will admit, at one point, I was not a fan of Carys. She seemed to act like a petulant child, but as I read on and learned more about her relationship with her father, mother, and ex-boyfriend, I began to understand her motives more. I also felt her regret for her actions. As Carys, Finn, and Jay try to investigate and unravel bad business decisions made by Carys father, ex, and an employee, she realizes just how much bad behavior she ignored and secrets she was blind too. Carys comes to accept her father’s and ex’s actions are not “love”, just a means to attempt to control her. She also realizes Finn has been the only man completely honest to a fault with her. She turns to him for support, help, and love. As they begin to make new plans for their future, Finn makes the ultimate sacrifice, but will Carys let it be the end?
This book is a deep read. Both Carys and Finn have had very untraditional childhoods which shapes them as adults. This book is about second chance love, redemption, facing betrayal, coming to terms with their pasts, and building a new future. Wendy did an amazing job conveying all the emotions Carys and Finn feel and they come to life in the pages of this book. My feelings were all over the place at times, left me feeling absolutely haunted and devastated for them. And, that’s when I know it’s been a GOOD read for me. When my soul hurts for the characters I’m reading about.
I look forward to backtracking and reading Lorcan’s book. Then getting the conclusion of Carys and Finn’s story in 2021.
Resurrection by Wendy Million is a great mafia read with a lot of angst and drama and action. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I loved the chemistry between Finn and Carys. I loved learning their history and how it moulded their relationship, how it made it stronger. I loved how they grew in their relationship, and how they worked as a team more and more throughout.
Also, I enjoyed how each person grew throughout. I fell in love with Finn's personality and wit pretty quickly. Seeing Finn build more and more emotions was incredible and loved seeing the more vulnerable side to him, especially when with Carys.
Another thing, I absolutely adored Carys. Full stop. She was fierce, independent, intelligent and tenacious and I loved seeing her in action. Such strength, it was admirable.
Speaking of action, there was plenty of it. It never left me bored, and the mixed drama gave it a lot of spice and kept me intrigued with the story. It was very suspenseful and addictive.
The story was well written. It wasn't patchy or exaggerated and was written with a great flow that kept me with the story.
The cliffhanger kept me intrigued, and hanging. My goodness, was I left on the edge of my seat.
This book was a great introduction to a new author. This author has incredible talent and I will most definitely be looking out for more of her work. Incredible!
**“Including leaving her alone once this threat is done.” “What if that isn’t what she wants?” “It is. It will be. And even if it isn’t, we all know I’m not the happily ever after guy.” I walk out the door.**
So you've all read the blurb and know what the story is about so I won't summarize it for you🤭
Who doesn't love a bad boy romance yeah it's a bad boy romance and Carys Van de Burg is no exception to it!!!
He's too much of a brute, he's lethal and without mercy, he's got a past, he's a fugitive and dangerous to boot but she still finds a way to save Finn from the shoot out. She couldn't imagine q World that didn't have the enigma that is Finn, it is like a modern day Romeo Juliet without the characters being stupid like in the classic 🤭
His small mistake almost got her killed seventeen years ago and he's not willing to repeat the same mistake again, but when he learns that someone has been stealing from Carys and made it look like she's the one who deals illegal arms he tries to repay his debt without making her fall into the spider web that is his life.
This book really kept me on the edge of my seat and its few quirks are that it's thrilling, filled with suspense and mystery, steamy and HOT, its an age gap romance and I loved it and recommend the book very much it's intriguing and I promise you can't put it down once u pick it up 💙
Thank you so much to the author and Bed and Books PR for providing me a copy of the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The book was a really thrilling, steamy and suspenseful mafia/arms dealer romance. It focuses on Carys and Finn, they meet again after 17 years when Carys saves Finn from dying. After that its pretty much a whirlwind of different problems stacking up one after another. What I loved the most about this book is that it wasn’t predictable. There was different things happening all at once and it seemed like none of them would ever be resolved. I also do love a good mystery and suspense book. I was always at the edge of my seat, wanting to figure out what was happening in the next page and the next and the next. I loved how the author intricately wrote every word and sentence in the entire book and portrayed how it is to love someone beyond reason.
Ok where to begin? This is the first book I have read by Wendy Million but it won't be the last! This book is AMAZING!!! It is the 2nd book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. However, I did feel like I was missing some back story so I probably should have read the first book in the series. Saying that, this is a must read!!! The development of the characters and story is so good and you really feel like you have been on a journey with them. I cannot wait for the continuation of Cary's and Finns story 🧡🧡
Reading the second book is like coming home! I loved the main characters. There are also several quite good secondary ones which played their roles in the story remarkably. The plot is like a roller coaster....you can’t put the book aside even for a moment. The most amazing thing for me is that you see our boy Finn melting from an ice cube into real human. Remarkable! “I think I saw Ireland”-priceless😂.Well done Wendy! For the future readers -buy the book! It’s worth it!
Five stars. That is what this book deserves and it is what I rated 'retribution' the first book of this series. You cannot put this book down till you finish it, it will keep you at the edge of your seat or keep you up all night. My advice to those of you who may have exams...do not read this book during exam season because you will not revise and you will not sleep. Wendy has such great talent and the characters progression is just beautiful to see. I disliked Finn in the first book but when you see his and Carys's relationship oh it makes you want a man like Finn. This is a definite must-read.
This was an awesome read that I thoroughly enjoyed and I highly recommend. The story and characters pulled me in from the beginning and I couldn't stop reading until I finished. If you love hot alpha males and a hot and sexy romance then this book is for you. It's an awesome book and a definite must read for any fan and I can't wait to read more!!! Well worth reading! Can't wait to read the next book by this author.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is my first book by Wendy and what a great book. It's a romantic suspense and it's the 2nd book in the donaghey brothers series - but can be read as a standalone book. There is intensity from the very start and throughout the book. I just love Cary's who is a fierce and independently strong character, and Finn has a very witty personality. Bring them together and they have chemistry that is off the charts. This book is about family, friendships and loyalty.
This is the first time I am reading and reviewing a book by this author and I am amazed that How amazing this author is and I didn't read her books earlier. Though this is the second book of the Donaghey brothers series but It can be read Standalone as well.
The book starts with Cary's and Finn's Sexual attraction. I really liked Finn and Cary's Character but I think due to book one in the series some of the scenes were not cleared. Overall the book was really interesting and as the book ended at the Cliffhanger I would love to read book three from this series.
E copy was generously provided for an honest review.
Second book in the series was as big of hit as the first book! Carys and Finn are hot and steamy with an ending that makes you beg for book three. Read this book read this author Wendy Million is hot to read. She is humble and down to earth and it shows in her talented style of writing amazing stories!!
I think that Wendy Million is able to keep the tension and energy up with Resurrection that she started in Retribution. With the story focus changing to Finn and his back story mixing with the current time we are drawn into his dark world and able to understand just why he is so distant and distrusting. With Carys and Finn heating things up between them you wonder just how things can get even more tense then it happens. There are twists and turns that keep you glued to the story and wondering just how it can possibly turn out with any winners.
I read this first on Wattpad, bought it so I can have it in my collection and read it again, a great story, very well written. Finn hadn’t been my fav when I read the first book, grew on me here. This is a definite must read book.
This second book was just amaizing I loved the main characters and secondary charters too how Finn was selfless n so protective mostly enjoyed Jay's role in the book always had things done always on top of everything and to top it off a family man ...just amaizing

This book is so thrilling..... It has kept me at the edge of my seat waiting and wanting to read more........ The book never failed to surprise me with every turn and twist. This book will take you on a rollercoaster ride you never imagined to go on. We see so many different sides of Finn that I never imagined he had. The first book was amazing and this book will definitely not disappoint you. And will leave u waiting and wanting to know more of what will happen in the next book. ... the story of Finn and Carys continues... I would like to thank the author for writing such an amazing book and I cnt wait to read book 3
Carys and Finn... oh buddy. This book has it all- genuine character development, heartbreak, intrigue, heat and just that something Wendy is able to put into her characters. The first book was awesome, this is a great extension, and the fact there is a book three has me pumped.
Can I just say WOW! If you've read Retribution by Wendy Million, you definitely don't want to miss her new book Resurrection. I went back and checked my review of the first book and it was 5 stars which is how I am going to rate Resurrection. The Donaghey Brothers series is a scorcher.
Resurrection picks up where Retribution leaves off. This is Carys and Finn's story. Not only is there some HOT scenes between the two, there are some scenes that will keep you on edge and turning pages. There are several twists and turns along the way. Some will make you shake your head in earnest.
The best part? I can tell you there is a book 3 on the way and hopefully before the end of the year. I can't wait to see where this story will be taking us. I can only guess it will be a wild ride. I highly recommend you read the first two books to be ready for number 3.
I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest review. Thank you Wendy Million for the experience!
In the first book of the series, I despised Finn. So much so that I was hesitant to read this book. I'm glad I did though because Finn is redeemed. This book has heartbreaks, deception, sacrifice, and love. There's excellent character development, world building, and a well thought out plot. A must read for fans of suspense! I can't wait for the next book!
This book is exciting, suspenseful and the chemistry between the characters is off the charts! I absolutely love that the female main character in this book is shown as strong, smart ,confident and sexy. I absolutely recommend this book once you start reading you won’t be able to put it down!!!
I finished this book in less than 24 hours. Sorry housework! This book keeps you guessing and thinking about what is coming next. Action packed and exciting/-I loved it and there is a wait for my friends to all read this second book in the series.
I really enjoyed this story. You saw sides to characters that you wouldn't have thought possible. This story brought out a whole range of emotions and everyone should read it.
You can feel the sexual tension between these two from the very first page.
Finn And Carys book spans years with some crazy manipulation going on to keep them apart.
We used to confess so many things to each other under the cover of darkness. I’ve worked hard to coat my underbelly with a steely resolve. Sometimes I think she might be the only
The story holds your attention until the cliffhanger type ending.
I have really enjoyed reading this book, the author did such a great job developing the characters, that I feel like I really know them, and not just the major characters, but the minor ones too. The writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story.
This review has been voluntarily submitted for your consideration.
The second installment in the Donaghey brothers series was even better than the first. Resurrection is Carys and Finn’s story and I could t put it down. The perfect amount of romance and violence! I can’t wait to see what happens next between these two.
