2025 WONDERLAND AWARD NOMINEE, "BEST COLLECTION" CATEGORY
An altercation in a coffee shop leads a man to conflict with a centuries-old sorcerer.
Two young sisters find a hidden safe with magical properties—but the magic may not always work in their favor.
A woman's life spirals out of control as she tries to cope with her fear of death.
These are but a glimpse of the horrors to be found in Vile Volume 2, a collection of thirteen new stories to keep you up at night. Have you the courage to explore more vile visions?
Both volumes of the Vile Visions are fantastic, but this one is my favorite. Many of these stories were a 5/5 and gave me all the heebie jeebies and creepy crawling chills. Riley Odell honors the horror fiction genre with his work. And it takes great skill to spin darkness in small bites. Here's to hoping he continues to write tales that make me question reality and force me to hide under the covers.
Vile Visions: Volume Two is dark to the point where I occasionally wished I could cover my eyes (but then how would I read?)
Which is most likely something you would look for in a horror book!
The stories that hit the hardest were the ones rooted (perhaps too) deeply in reality. They reminded me of Dean from Supernatural saying: "Demons, I get. People are crazy."
My favorite story was THE LEARNING PROCESS, which is a truly creative and unique look at zombies. Other favorites: ABANDONED, SNARE, and INHERITANCE.
Overall, the writing was incredible and the horror in this book will stick with you—whether or not you want it to.
