Skimmed through one of the books I got from DMSYK.
Fair warning to anyone who got this from DMSTK— this is NOT dark “kink”

This read was absolutely addictive! I never wanted to put it down. I was so invested in the story and the characters. The backstory is so captivating that I didn't want the story to end. I cannot wait for the rest of the series. Mostly because while I was reading I did not see that it said book 1 T~T.

I found this book during the Dark Mode Stuff-Your-Kindle event and am so glad I made sure to check this one out. I was shocked when I found it has origionas on AO3. I haven't been there in years. I was ever more, pleasently, surprised when I found out there were images throughout the book. I have always wanted more images in books because I do not have the part in my brain where I can make a visual appear, so seeing what was going on helped with my overall understanding.

This reading should not be undertaken lightly. Please read the trigger warnings listed for this book. It's seriously dark. I found myself turning away from my kindle or taking breaks from the chapters because of the content, so please head with caution. Overall, I loved the story and will be waiting eagerly for any updates.

Gave it 4 stars because it was not to my entier satisfaction but that does not mean it will be the same for you. Give it a try. READ TRIGGER WARNINGS!! You Need Them.

Reading this was hard. It is very dark but I feel like it’s building up to something crazy. I want to know more about the character and where they are heading. With all the pain and suffering in the first book I’m hoping for some sweet moments in the second. This is definitely heart breaking.

Do not read if easily triggered.

Sooo fun to read, the exact right collection of kink, combined with a good story full of believable characters and interesting lore. And the art is gorgeous.
If you're into non-con and bondage and such (dead-dove, do not eat), this is most definitely worth reading!
