Easton Island is the continuing saga of one woman’s journey from incredible loss to finding a past she knew nothing about, including a family who both embraces and fears her and a charming island that draws her in.
This inspirational women’s fiction series is for lovers of family sagas, friendship, mysteries, and clean romance.
Callaghan sums up life on Easton Island perfectly:
“Easton Island wasn’t just an island, it was love. It was acceptance. It grabbed hold of your heart and wrapped you in its warmth. Home where your heart sang, surrounded by those you loved.”
Another great series by Callaghan! Easton Island would definitely cast its spell on you causing you to want to stay forever. Callaghan has done a good job welcoming the reader into the unfolding life story of Morgan Easton.
I also like that it has a Christian aspect to it that makes me know it’s there and God is in the forefront, but His presence is not made to be so extreme that I feel the writer’s beliefs are being pushed on me.
Callaghan has created an island full of beautiful views of the beach, ideal settings from porches, and warm and inviting town folk. I want to live on Easton Island! Maybe one day I’ll have my own little slice of paradise like it.
Unfortunately, another person is under a spell and plans to stay on the island. Amber. Wyatt’s ex girlfriend. Amber is trying to win Wyatt over using manipulation. Morgan knows it. Grace knows it. Everyone knows this… except Wyatt.
It seems that Amber is becoming obsessed in her attempt to woo Wyatt. In fact, she not only paired up with one of the Easton’s “enemies” in order to be a pain in the butt to Morgan, but she also attempted to break into Morgan’s home! Then Amber approached Morgan telling her that she and Wyatt are meant to be and that Morgan needs to return to Florida. Talk about disillusioned! Morgan tells Wyatt she trusts him, but she doesn’t trust Amber.
Drama drama drama…
What else happened in this book:
Morgan returns home after a whirlwind trip handling Easton Holdings business. Morgan & Wyatt’s first argument (see above. Lol.) Elizabeth models her wedding gown to Morgan and Mrs. Arnsby. Don’t forget the tiara! Amber is let off with a warning. Morgan’s bed and breakfast grand reopening party. Quinn gives Morgan terrible news. Wyatt’s ticket causes quite a stir and life changes.
And so much more!
I know it’s a lot, but everything works out for nearly everyone in the end. There were a couple of instances toward the ending that brought me tears though. I had to stop reading and tell myself to knock it off and to stop snibbling (“Snibbling” is a word my dad used when I was a child for when someone would begin crying. I believe the correct word is “sniveling”. Lol.)
Be sure to stick around once the book is finished because there is a recipe at the very end. The recipe in this book is Figgy Duff Pudding. It’s another recipe from this series that uses brown sugar. 😋
Next and the final book in this great cozy mystery series is book 13, “A Wedding to Remember.” I just re-read my review from book 8 and smiled because I mentioned that Elizabeth had a crush on someone. Well, now she’s engaged to him. In fact, the next book is probably about Elizabeth and Gerard’s wedding! Can’t wait! My hope is that Callaghan is currently working on book 14.
See you in my next review. Deuces to your cabooses! ✨ 🍑 ✨
Hope Callaghan does not disappoint, Affairs of the Heart is another wonderful book! I devoured the story in one sleepless night and enjoyed every moment of the this continuing Easton family saga. The story starts out with Morgan returning home from a whirlwind tour of all the Easton leasing properties. It had been a long two weeks from being away from her beloved island and the love of her life Wyatt. Unfortunately, she came home to a real uproar. Quinn still wasn't back from helping her parents in Florida and the empty house reminded Morgan of the argument she and Quinn had right before she left. She knew something was not right with the way Wyatt hesitated when he dropped her off from the airport, as if he needed to tell her something. Morgan knew if she went to talk with her grandmother she would feel more settled. That turned out to depress her further, of course she was thrilled to see her grandmother but as she got ready to leave, she noticed her nemesis was back in town, peeking in the Art Gallery's window Amber Marais. Amber was Wyatt's high school sweetheart, she had been back in town a few months ago and stayed at Morgan's B&B Inn, making everyone who came in contact with her miserable, with her demanding superior acting ways. Amber had even sent flowers to Wyatt's work, afterwards she let Morgan know in no uncertain terms that Wyatt was her man not Morgan's!! Wyatt insisted that he only loved Morgan. Morgan was sure that Amber was in town for only one reason, Wyatt. This story takes a very surprising unexpected turn. As with all of Hope's books, once you start them, you just can't put them down! Affairs of the Heart is a perfect title for this story. If I say much more I will ruin the story for you. You definitely want to read this excellent book..thanks Hope for all the wonderful series you write!
Morgan has just flown into Easton Island Airport after visiting Easton Holding Company's for 2 weeks. She has just gotten off the plane when she sees Wyatt waiting under the "Welcome to Easton Island" banner. She runs to his embrace & he tells her he has missed her. They get her pink suitcase from the badge carousel & head to Wyatt's vehicle. There is a brown paper bag with a big red bow setting on the center console. She opens it & there is a bottle of Vendors Ginger Soda & a box of Danish Delight Bakery's aebleskivers in It, 2 of her favorites on the Island. As Wyatt drops her off at the Easton's Estate, she goes in the kitchen to see Mrs Arnsby & pick up Chester. Mrs Arnsby tells her that her grandmother is at the art gallery. After she drops her suitcase off at home, she heads to the art gallery. Elizabeth is glad to see her & tells her Easton Island has a new resident, Wyatt's high school girlfriend, Amber Marais. She is standing outside the Gallery with Naomi Renaud, her grandmother's nemesis. Whatever they are up to together can't be good!
I enjoy reading about Wyatt, Morgan, the Eastons, & their friends. It is always fun & interesting to see what happens next!
Book 12 in the Easton Family Saga is a page turning who-dun-it mystery with a small town Lake Huron Michigan setting and relatable characters. A loving grandmother Elizabeth Easton. Morgan the tender-hearted spitfire and force to be reckoned with and her adorable rescue pup Chester. Brett, Quinn, and Wyatt; plus the annoying childhood sweetheart of Wyatt – Amber Marais.
The story flows and plot twists keeps the reader engaged. Foreshadowing has this reader wanting more, especially the relationships between Wyatt & Morgan and Brett and Quinn. Hope Callaghan’s style includes a character list and tidbits from the previous stories to refresh the reader's memory of past events. With a limited attention span this reader enjoys Callaghan’s writing style: short paragraphs, limited description passages which are interspersed with dialog. Recipe for Figgy Duff is included.
Oh how I love this series. From the first sentence you are picked up and carried away on a thrilling adventure of family, friends, relationships and so much more. From Wyatt's former girlfriend's return causing trouble to a job offer Quinn can't refuse, each chapter will have you turning pages so fast you'll think they're on fire.
If you enjoy clean stories about beautiful places with people you would love to have as friends, then Hope Callaghan and her books are for you. This series is just wonderful! Enjoy!
Once again, I have enjoyed reading about Easton Island. And once again, the only thing keeping me from giving this book a five star rating is that it seems less than a full book and more of an installment in a serial. Granted, more loose ends were tied up than usual in this one, but I would certainly like for it to be longer and more in depth. So, start at the beginning and read all the books, and enjoy them, but know it won’t take you as long as perhaps it should.
Morgan is finally back home on Easton Island after a long business trip and she feels that she can relax and get back into the swing of things. Unfortunately, everything begins to unravel rather quickly. Elizabeth, Wyatt, Quinn, Amber, the bed and breakfast, her new project. It seems that everything is falling apart. Morgan needs to remind herself that she is made of sterner stuff. Really enjoyable read. Like meeting old friends and getting much needed updates! Looking forward to the next chapter!
I love these books. Ms. Callaghan has done it again! Another beautiful book about Easton Island. How people, hearts, family, and community affect your home. Everyone is different, everyone wants something different. Maybe you do too? Ms. Callaghan gets everything smashed together in one book! I hope there’s another one. But if not, I’ll look back at this book and think about the different people in it. And what they meant to each other. Absolutely what I needed at the moment.
I don't do the synopsis type reviews. I just tell it from my heart.
I think this is the best series Hope has written. This installment touched the feels and I had to finish it in the living room so I didn't wake my husband up with my sniffling.
Hope has the dynamics of true friendship pegged. And family. I anxiously await the next book to see where she takes my heart.
What a wonderful person you are Hope. You couldn't write such awesome stories if you weren't an awesome person yourself. Even brought tears into my eyes, not the first time, when everything works out as God Himself intended. I can never give you enough praise for the joy and excitement I feel when you release another new book. God bless you and never stop writing. Tony
The Storyline and Characters took me off guard. I really enjoyed this series and I’m excited and so glad that you decided to make another book in this series. I can’t imagine what will happen next. But I can’t wait to find out. From Grandmother Elizabeth to the cook Ms. Arnsby I was not sure what was going on and I had to keep turning these pages to find out. Thank you Mrs. Hope Callaghan for writing truly amazing stories.
The Easton Island series was interesting from the first book. Affairs of the Heart continues to hold a reader's interest. I love the characters and their development. They are believable and likable. I tend to be hyper-critical with regard to an author's basic skills. I want to read books that have been written with good grammar, spelling, and structure. I don't want to be the editor. With Hope Callaghan's writing, I can relax and enjoy.
This book is like a warmm hug from a beloved friend. It is well written with loveable characters that I am eager to reconnect with as they face the twists and turns of life. Warning: Once you start reading, you may end up staying up way too late because you just have to know how it ends.
This plot was something that I could believe happening in my hometown. The characters are so true to life. The romances are filled with real life challenges. Family values, loyalty, and love are the same ones I grew up with in the Deep South. Very heart-warming story.
I was under the impression that book 12 would be the end. I was hoping that everything would be wrapped up & a good closure, even though I would miss these characters. BUT!!! There is a book 13!! I had tears reading book 12. Very emotional & I couldn't put it down!
Start with book one. Hope Callaghan weaves a wonderful tale with plenty of twists and turns. Her character development is rich and wonderfully deep. You'll be quickly immersed into the lives of the folks on Easton Island, so much so you're certain you could pick them out in a crowd
I have read all 12 books in this series in three days! I just couldn’t get enough of the stories and the family. It doesn’t seem to be any more books in the series although it ends saying that there will,be more. I really hope so. The book has great characters, a lovely island community and good plots. I highly recommend the series.
Another heartwarming tale in a beautiful series. This time trouble comes in the form of Wyatt’s former girlfriend, who stirs up a heap of trouble! Skillfully written, with characters who have depth and personality. Highly recommend the entire series! I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next in the series.
The Easton Island characters have gotten hold of my heart, I guess. I had to remind myself that Morgan, Wyatt and Quinn aren't real people! Brace yourself for some white knuckling, but you know it will be okay!
Another awesome book from Hope! I truly love this series! With every new addition, I swear I'm going to take it slow this time... NEVER gonna happen! Once I start, I just can't put it down!
Easton Island: Affairs of the Heart captured me from the first moment, twists and turns in relationships for the best and plenty of adventure! Another great Hope Callaghan read!
The more stories you read in a series the more these characters become like friends. Always looking forward to the next book and the adventures of Morgan and the residents of Easton Island.
I enjoyed this book very much, I feel like friends with Morgan, I adore her grandmother, Elizabeth and the relationship that they have. So looking forward to book 13, that was a surprise when I saw that at the end of 12. Thank you Hope Callahan I very much enjoy all of your books
I love reading this series of Easton Island books, they have the right amount of romance, mystery and long-lasting friendship that never lets one down.
This book really spelled out what real friends will do for each other. Morgan has made Easton Island her true home. With Wyatt's accident and Amber causing trouble she made it through. I look forward to reading more books by Hope
What a book, so fill of excitement!!! Sad the Guinn wanted to stay in Florida. Amber is a piece of work for sure. Wyatt's accident WOW!! I was thinking that Amber caused it, but I was wrong. So glad that Quinn decided to stay on Easton Island!
I enjoyed reading it and escaping to Easton Island. The characters are becoming more interesting with each book. You can tell that Hope Callaghan is a gifted writer,
Quick, easy read that is consistently good. An unexpected turn of events pushes Morgan and Quinn to make some life altering decisions. As usual, the entire group bands together to support each other and help each other through the tough times.
Once I started the series I could not stop reading them. It is a great read and keeps you wanting more. Hope Callaghan is a fantastic author and I highly recommend her book.
