I am a villain’s daughter. Trying to escape my past. Love can never be mine.
I’ve mastered the art of hiding in plain sight. My only goal is to bury the violent secrets of my past. A past that was forced on me, not chosen.
But my fate is turned when I unwittingly step between an assassin and his prey, an act that provokes the fury of the Assassin’s Legion.
Now, my only ally is a stranger. Cain Carter. A man whose touch heats my body and soul.
I literally fall into his arms, and he is… Kind. Compassionate. Terrifyingly sexy.
He offers me everything I’ve never had: pleasure, safety, and hope.
Until I discover that he has violent secrets too.
That’s when I’m forced to make a choice.
A choice that will destroy my heart.

Grace Kennedy, or at least that’s the name she goes by now, is a book lover and has a hidden secret. When she stops an assassination attempt and meets the infamous Cain Carter, she won’t be able to hide her secrets for long.
Assassin’s Menace Everly Frost, is a companion and standalone story to the Assassin’s Magic series. The story fits in between books 2 and 3. Highly recommend this action packed addition to the series.
OK I loved Cain from the moment we met him but I was unsure of how this story would turn out simply because the character switch is a risk in a continuous story. But man was it a genius move. A well thought out play in terms of plot progression and a masterpiece in term of getting me more invested in more than just Hunter and Slades story. And we needed this character development for a better understanding into who Grace is and the part she will play in the next book.
Grace is a formidable character in her own right. She's strong, independent and intelligent. She's also sweet and kind with a kind of vulnerability that allows the reader to connect to her character.
Cain is everything I thought he'd be. Light and dark, he rides that line in the grey area of good people doing bad things for solid reasons. He has damage but he also hasn't lost that sweet goodness that draws you in and makes you love him hard and fast.
These two had tension for days. The cat and mouse chase just had me hooked but the undeniable connection... SWOONING. I loved that Cain found his own happy in a strong woman.
This story fed us necessary information we need to connect the bridge between the characters and their upcoming journey. It was also a nice pallet cleanser ready for book 4 and more drama. It was needed and it's hard to say much without spoiling it all so I'll keep it short and sweet.
Their journey brought some surprising revelations along with some not so surprising things. It brought action, suspense and a good dose of chemistry just to add a little spice. This story also brought more great characters that only add more personality to this already big world and somehow this author tied it all together seamlessly. The plot progression and character development is everything and honestly I'm so excited to see where book 4 goes now, especially knowing what I do now from this book. I feel like good things are coming.
Now onto Assassins Maze ... because I need to know.
At first I thought I was going to struggle with this third book and I just wanted to continue on with Hunter’s story, but oh how wrong I was... just finished in two sittings and I’m obsessed with Archer’s character and her story!
It was fast paced, action packed and amazingly well built world and plot. Everly’s writing draws you in and doesn’t let you up for air until she’s ready for you to breathe.
Once again a beautifully painful and brutal novel in the assassin’s world of magic and secrets. I adored seeing more of Cain Carter and getting a closer look into his life behind his famous persona. He’s a babe and such a good guy despite his dark profession.
Archer is strong, fierce and loyal with her own painful past and secrets for her to share at her own pace. Despite the similarities between herself and Hunter, Archer’s character was completely unique and addicting to read about.
DNF. Insta love was pretty off-putting (as it always is for me) and I really don't like separate books in series that run concurrently. It's confusing and in this case I just wanted to finish an otherwise great series, not changing the MC & POV mid series.
It's like you're forced to read something that you're not necessarily invested in. I wouldn't typically read these 'something-.5 novels' if it wasn't sort of presented as a must read before the final book - it is even sold as no. 3 (not 2.5) in the series which added to the confusion and frankly I would have skipped it altogether if I knew that was the case.
Can't really say much else about the story itself as I gave up fairly early!
I listened to the first two books in this series and literally no library in my entire state had book 3 on audio so I had to buy it. This takes a tiny detour from the main story and focuses more on Cain. I am obsessed! I am probably going to have to buy the first 2 books now, because I LOVE this series.
Billionaire assassin Cain Carter stops for breakfast with his sister at the diner but he’s more interested in waitress Grace Kennedy than food. Protective Grace is in hiding and decides it’s time to move on but before she does, she stops assassin Lutz from killing her homeless friend, Briar and defeats him giving her true name, Archer Ryan. By saving Briar from Legion assassination Grace forfeited her own life. Briar tries to send Archer to Hunter for asylum but Archer’s next step literally puts her in front of Cain. They touch.
One touch is all it takes before Cain declares undying fidelity to Archer and whisks her to Texas for her safety. By taking Archer to Texas, Cain broke the rules leading Slade to challenge him for Archer’s life. They agree to delay it until Cain’s officially declared a Master but Archer’s determined that won’t happen. Word on the street is Archer Ryan is alive, well and with Cain, Lady Tirelli salivates as she mobilizes her minions and troops, certain she’ll force Archer to provide what she needs. Hunter and Archer meet. Rating: 4.5stars
If you’ve read the first 2 books, you’ll guess who Grace is right away. I would love to know more about her and I’m so excited for book 4! Grace is one of my favorites! Meeting the Horde Assassin’s was very eye opening, Lady T did a great job of trying to twist anyone she can into doing her will. I love the additions of Juliet and Parker to the Assassin world. The best was getting to see them both grow stronger and support Cain and Grace. If you loved Cain, you’ll be happy to see him with Grace. He is probably one of my fave #bookboyfriends. I’m so glad we got a whole book of him. If you loved the first 2 books, go one-click Menace and start reading it now. It’s a book you won’t want to put down.
At first I was a thinking of skipping this book and coming back to it after book 4 because I wanted to continue with slad and hunters story. However, I really like Cain so I decided to go ahead and read in the recommended reading order. I’m so happy I did because I loved Cain and grace so much. Cain was so patient with her and let her make her own decisions without trying to push her into things. They connected quickly and he waited for her to come to terms with it. I caught on pretty quickly what she was and it was interesting seeing her confusion over it. I think grace and Hunter are going to get along amazingly and I can’t wait for that to happen!
DNF half way through Jesus I can’t finish this shit. Insta-love in its finest. Cain fell in love with Archer in a day which is soooo freaking out of character that I can’t. Also her being Keres is sooooo obvious from the beginning which ruins the surprise. The plot is crammed like you press speed up on the player that it reads like a short synopsis and I can’t make myself read this. Consequently I do not want to finish this series, fuck it. I know it’ll end with a happy ending and that’s enough for me. Life is too short to force yourself to read a few more books just for the sake of finishing series.
This is Archer's and Cains love story which is the other side to Hunters and Slade's.
It runs alongside the main story from the first two books and we get crossovers with a lot of other characters but not Slade or Hunter.
The ending converges where Hunter and Archer meet for the first time and I don't know about anyone else but I'm holding my breath.
I have to say though my favourite parts of this book were Lutz and Parker I really hope we see more of them and learn what happens between them.
I totally adored this book it may be my favourite so far, it helps that I have adored Cain since book one, to know he is finally getting some love. Now we just need Alexei to be happy.
I liked Kane ever since he was introduced in previous books in this series and I’m glad to hear that he got his own little story. I knew a little bit about who Grace was before we found out, but I did not expect some other things about her story like what her real name was. I felt bad for Kane‘s sister learning about his assassin business the way she did. One of the things I liked about this book was that it was short and to the point. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series. For some reason, I could not find this book on Audible.
Not happy with that ending at all. However I did love the story about Cain and Grace. I was always a fan of Cain, glad he found love but I hate the ending and can only hope it doesn't stay that way. Grace has a lot of secrets some she's not even aware of herself. Lutz and Parker is also a nice surprise. Can't wait for what happens next, so many questions unanswered so much more still left to do.
Once I started this series, I couldn’t put it down! I’ve never seen a tandem book in the middle of the series but it was brilliant. At first I just wanted to know what happened next to Hunter, but like all of Everly’s novels, you’re drawn in and before you know it, you’ve devoured the whole book! I highly recommend this series if you’re looking for an action filled read where you have no idea how it will end!
I was SO MAD when THIS BOOK (Cain and archer) was in the middle of the series. I loved Cain. I wished him for Hunter. But after reading this (instalove) I’m happy for him. But this book was great. I’m passed i waited WEEKS to read it cause it wasn’t about Sloan and Hunter 😭
The Assassins have rules. They make no sense. They only seem to apply when it fits the plot line. The author seems to try to make up for it at the end of this book, however, way too little, way too late. It’s a shame. It pulls me out of what could have been an epic story.
Yay!!! I figured we would've met the Keres with the violet eyes, but I never thought she'd be Cain's lady! Eek, it was so satisfying for him to finally have someone. I originally hoped for him and Hunter to be together, but now that I've read this I feel great about how it happened.

I really liked Cain but now I absolutely love him!!! Archer is such a strong young women who’ll be able to conquer anything. These characters are a perfect extension to Hunters family. I love them all!
I enjoyed Cain from the other books so it was nice that he got his own spin-off. We finally get to meet the missing piece to this whole conflict— archer!
She’s gentle yet badass and she’s the perfect half to hunter. I’m excited for them to meet and to kick ass together.

I am absolutely obsessed with this series. I honestly want to scream it was so fun to read. I love the ending, and it's also hilarious —Archer (Grace) is right where she needs to be.
The story between Cain and Archer - OMG I couldn't put it down. They are so fierce and beautiful - I didn't want it to end! This book is a must read! I can't wait for the next one...
Still love Cain Carter so so so much! Now they'll be separated which I admit to hating but at least it is due to love and survival, not lack of communication! So far this sub-story is fabulous!
Fast paced and exciting. This one focuses on Cain Carter. Grace Kennedy is not who she seems but her and Cain make the perfect pair. Lutz gets tangled up and Hunter’s reputation is keeping everyone in check. This series keeps getting better with each book.
