Knot Just for Show

Rate this book
I, Ursula Goldblum-Laskaris, have never felt like a real omega.

An ugly duckling? Sure. A black sheep? Absolutely!

I was just minding my own business, avoiding any kind of exploration into my own happiness in favor of familiarity and safety when my bestie Daphne, my mentor, and a handful of my nearest and dearest went behind my back to sign me up for the new season of the reality show Build-a-Pack-Blind.

Suddenly I’m faced with the prospect of navigating the dating landscape and trying to make connections with my prospective pack members without seeing them face to face until we’ve decided to become a trial pack; after hours of soul-bearing heart-to-hearts and literally blind dates.

If I somehow find my dream mates, sight unseen, we’ll get to meet and see just how much chemistry we actually have once we’re face-to-face and body-to-body.

Even though we might have some initial attraction, could it really be possible for me and my possible pack to work in the real world? What happens when they meet my friends? My Family?

What about our first heat together?

How will I know that any of it is real and not just drama and intrigue manufactured for the cameras? How can I tell that it’s not just for show?

Another great story in this shared Omegaverse world. Ursula’s bestie and mentor sign her up for a reality dating show. She doesn’t really want to do it, but she gives it a shot and finds more love than she could ever hope for! There are some small bumps in the road while the pack comes together, but ultimately, things come together in the end. Very spicy and sweet and romantic. Loved it!!!

Knot Just For Show
(Hollywood Omegas #2) Violet Braxe

Knot Just For Show takes us on a Reality TV based adventure where Ursula jumps all in to find her pack in the most un-traditional way possible (thanks, bestie).
Will she be able to build-a-pack without her omega senses leading the way?

I'd like to start off hot by sayin: The humor in this book checked soo many boxes I felt like it was catered for *me*, ya'll.
I was chuckling, snorting, kickin' my feet, gasping- you name it. THE PUNS, PLEASE. 😭💀 sent me to the damn moon.

ANYWAY.

Ursula is hilarious. Relatable.
I felt for her, I laughed with her. I admired her, because *apparently* I love a vocal gal who knows wtf she wants (iykwim) 😏

The Pack
For the sake of not giving too much away- I will say this:

The pack is delicious. Scrumptious. Delectable. The diverse designations was entirely new for me, and I ate it up.
The broad difference in personalities was so interesting that I really was like 🧐 but the way everyone comes together (ha) is beautiful.

"We found it. No matter how difficult, no matter how complicated, we found each other. We have found home."
(This quote *moved* me. I yearn for this kind of love.)

This is a great cozy, happy, low-stress read with a unique plot that offers up a good variety of characters and personalities. The humor was a hit for me, as well as the relatable struggles. I absolutely reccomend for anyone already familiar with the omegaverse and how the dynamics work.

This is a standalone book in the Hollywood Omegas world. I did *knot* (ha) read the first one, and can vouch you will not be missing any story if you start here.

Finding your pack sight unseen

If you have seen that dating show by the Lachey's you will know what this book is doing. Can you find your pack without ever seeing them? Reality dating shows are my guilty pleasure so I loved this.

First off I loved Ursula in book one already. She is fun and quirky with self esteem issues common in those of us who are on the plus size.

I will say this book was much more put together and complete than the first book. However, I absolutely hate the term petals in relation to female genitals.

I liked getting to know the potential pack members in the "Bubbles". I enjoyed seeing the lesser known designations and seeing how they worked in the pack. These stories are light and easy reads.

You had all your typical reality dating show character. The immediate green flags, immediate red flags, the ones you should say no to but still give a chance, the bestie, and the mean girls.

I love the way the pack came together for each other and the way they easily accepted and thrived in new and unexpected situations. This one had a good amount of spice between the men and Ursula too.

My only hate was the use of petals. I also would have liked to see the individual dates be more exciting than they ended up being but that wasn't terrible.

This story is a love letter. I was drawn in right from the beginning. Anyone who has met Ursula already in book 1 knows that she is a gem, but the rest of the pack too? These guys were all sweet and perfect for our girl Ursula.

We have Ursula, soft bodied with a big personality, stretch marks. She is unapologetically herself, even when she struggles with it sometimes, but don’t we all? I loved how we read words of love associated with her body. All the guys loved her stomach, arms, legs, softness. It was beautiful. I could just hug Violet Braxe for giving us this. Lysander with his direct nature and quirky fixations? Embraced with love too. Teddy, with his himbo personality, but wanting to be accepted and heard? Mavren with his hyper focus on his work, leaving no time for play or hobbies? Ronan with his traumatic life and beginnings, but trying to make a life when it’s done nothing but push him down? Ash with his slowly dwindling fame, but heart of gold? Each character with their self-perceived flaws were embraced into Pack Gold and loved as much there as we the readers loved them too. They were loved because of these things, not in spite of them.

I had such a good time reading this story. I’ve watched the tv show that this book was based off of and if I was in the OV I would definitely watch Build a Pack Blind too. I’ve never read anything quite like this story, loved it first page to the last.

I received an advanced copy of this book in return for my honest opinion.

I love omegaverse books and I love reality dating show books. A book that combines the two sign me up! This was a very unique type of dating show that was rather creative for an Omegaverse story. Can you build a pack not only blind but scent and designation blind? Well this reality show is out to see if you can do just that. Ursula our FMC is an independent omega that tried for a long time to find a pack that draws her in by scent and when it didn’t happen she leaves to Perdue her dreams in LA. When they don’t pan out she stumbles upon a career that she is good at and pays the bills along with finding a great group of friends. She is content but still missing the things she longed for. When she lands a spot on a reality show that hopes to build a pack without scents, physical attraction or even designation influencing the compatibility of the pack she decides to give it a real try. This story is full of heart and heat. The characters are well defined and the relationships between all of them are genuine and believable. Sometimes the characters stray a bit from how they were first introduced but it doesn’t take away from the storyline. Overall it was a fun and well paced story.

Omggg I absolutely ate up this concept!!! Build a pack blind 🤭. I enjoyed every second of it too, it felt like I was watching the show and behind the scenes as well. 😉

Honestly, I'm so happy I picked this up!! Such an easy read and supppper smutty if that’s what you prefer. The guys all did their part to make their omega happy!

Also, I really loved that there were other designations in this book! I found it fascinating to learn about them and how they defer from the usual three that are in most omegaverse books!! I’m excited for the next book! 🥰

Interesting concept

Knot Just for Show is a very different take on an omegaverse story. A story based around a reality game show, where they don't see each or scent each until later.

Ursula is an omega struggling to find a pack. Her bestie signs her up for a new dating show. Ursula decides to give it a chance and push past her insecurities. She just hopes that her heart isn't broken in the process.

I won't spoil any of what happens. Readers will have to see if Ursula gets her pack or...knot. Of course you can guess that there will be drama.

The really cool element about this book is the different destinations. I wasn't aware of some of them and it was interesting to see and learn about them.

Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
Plot: 10/10
Characters: 5/5

Lets meets Ursula Goldblum-Laskaris, Omega. She is best friends with Daphne from book 1.

Ursula's friends set her up to go on a reality dating show called MMaking The Pack. Here she will meet 5 men who will become pack GOLD.

We first meet Marven, then we meet Teddy, then Ronan, Lavander (who i love) and last Ash.

These men are all different but all come together perfectly.

this is a MMMMMF omegaverse meaning they all are together.

overall I laughed hard and enjoyed the heck out of this book.

Favorite quote: “I know Lysander gave me a ring,” I whimper between breathy moans over my shoulder, moving my hands over Mavren’s. “But I’m wondering if you could give me a little necklace.”

Ursula came to Hollywood to become a singer. When that didn’t pan out, she found herself becoming quite successful as a makeup artist.

When her best friend and mentor signs her up for a very unconventional dating show. Can you really build a pack blind? No scents, designations, or physical attraction influencing a decision. Well, Ursula is about to find out.

This book has plenty of heat, humor, and the drama you would expect from a reality dating show. I loved the diversity of the characters and their authenticity. Their struggles are realistic and some you can connect to on a personal level. Definitely worth a read! Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I loved Ursula’s story. Omegaverse can sometimes get boring, the same tropes, seemingly the same fmcs. This story had a little bit of everything. An omega who’s got a normal backstory, and 5 guys who really couldn’t be more
different. I loved her fire and I loved the way her guys loved her. ❤️

Great OmegaVerse book

Fun book! I like the added designations, breathes some life into the traditional OV plot. Read the descriptions in the beginning. Don’t skip like I did and then have to go back while in the middle of the plot. lol

This was really great storyline and interesting in The view of this being a television reality TV show for dating. Well put together. I love Lysander. He was literally my favorite character out of this whole book.

I read this right after the first book in the series as an ARC and enjoyed it! It was nice to follow the progression of all the relationships from the beginning and to watch the pack develop. Ursula is a wonderfully relatable FMC!

Wow! Just wow! This was an absolutely fantastic read!

This is the second book in the Hollywood Omegas series, and features Ursula, the best friend of Daphne from the first book, Lights, Camera, Omega. While Daphne does make a brief appearance in this book, it could definitely be read as a standalone.

Ursula is such a special character. Violet Braxe really shines in her character development, and Ursula is honestly amazing. The ups and downs that she faces in forming her pack are extremely well done and make this book so spectacular. While I am not generally a large fan of reality TV settings, this book is so well written and allowed for Ursula’s pack to form so beautifully.

I absolutely adored this book and all of its wonderful characters!

I was so excited to receive an ARC of this book! With the first I had a couple issues of mainly not understanding a lot of the words that were used, this book was so much better! From the premise to the characters and the relationships based on personality, it was everything I didnt know i needed. I really like the different designations in this story even if i had to refer to the glossary quite a bit, it was a very unique take from other authors who only have 1 or 2 different ones. I'm excited to see more!!

Humor, spice, and everything nice. This is book 2 of the Hollywood Omega series. It can be read as a standalone but to fully appreciate the fmc I suggest reading the first. This is Ursula's story of finding her pack in a very unconventional, televised way. I liked the humor that was all thru the book and how it helped to lighten and keep the story fun and playful. I can't wait to see what comes next!

Fantastic book. This is book 2 in the Hollywood Omega series and it was absolutely wonderful story!!! Really enjoyed the whole reality dating show. Loved Ursula and of course the guys. Another Omegaverse story that was so good right from the beginning all the way to the end. Couple parts did have me laughing. Can’t forget the steam also. Definitely a must read story. Going to be one of my favorites because I really loved it.

I am still smiling over Ursula's HEA. You could not have a more diverse pack in personalities and looks. Each character has their own flaws, but they overcome each one as their bond becomes stronger. This is a sweet story with a tiny bit of angst. I definitely resonated with Ursula's feelings about herself and her life in general. She found confidence in herself while finding her pack. It's definitely worth the read.

Story 3.75⭐️ Spice 3.25🌶️
Let me preface by saying I didn’t read the first book in this series but it wasn’t necessary to understand this one. I enjoyed the reality show aspect and how everyone was so different, but came together in the end.

I absolutely loved this book.. I love reading about reality TV rather than watching it. Violet's attention to detail for the show Building-a-pack Blind was spectacular considering the cast of characters in the show! Ursula's story arc was equal parts heart-breaking, endearing, funny, and HOT! I would recommend this series to anyone who loves omegaverse. Designations, heats, ruts, love, drama, secrets.. it has it all!

A dating show, but make it omegaverse. I haven’t watched Love is Blind, but it wasn’t necessary to follow along with the book. I really like the concept for omegaverse because how would they date without having preconceived notions about each other? The additional designations beyond the usual A/B/O felt a bit much, but that’s probably because I haven’t read anything like that before ☺️

I hope to see more of this dating show concept because it was so much fun 🥰

Changing Their Reality Together

I don’t care that these are just fictional characters from Violet’s brilliant imagination. I connect with them on such a real & believable level, that being invested in their HEA is necessary, not just a possibility. On top of how authentic our FMC, Ursula, was, there were so many things she had dealt with & struggled with that I connected with her on. All those things made her whole story feel like I was personally taking it myself in a lot of ways (except for the whole omega, heats, knots & nesting parts 😝😂)

One of the things I love the most about Violet’s characters is that they’re real. They have baggage, they have insecurities, they have issues they haven’t worked through yet, and I love that sometimes they don’t always start off with the best 1st impression & we get to truly watch them grow into this amazing character we can’t live without (*cough Cosmo*cough Teddy* 😉).

I love the whole whychoose reality dating show storyline, and just don’t see a whole lot of stories like this. So I got so excited about this book. I loved the way the show was handled, and the whole blind dating part of it. I also enjoyed the way Violet explored all of the guys’ relationships together, and not just with Ursula. It just added a beautiful depth & added layer of heat to their pack that I adored.

I also loved the diversified cast of characters, especially Lysander. His personality & neurodivergence was so refreshing, tackled so beautifully.

As for the spice, it doesn’t start kicking in until you get to around 40% into the book. Once it starts picking up though….whewwww 🥵🥵🥵 Violet delivers so much heat to us between ALL these characters, and in so many different variations. It was spectacularly hot 🔥

I can’t wait for Roxy’s story next 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️

The second installment in the omegaverse, this wonderful story follows Ursula and her path to finding a pack. Ursula is a true friend to Daphne, originally her make-up artist with a friendship that blossoms into becoming best friends quickly in the life of fame. With Ursula down on her luck, life being tight in all of the wrong places, and her self-depreciating thoughts, Daphne signs Ursula up for a reality TV show on how to Build-A-Pack-Blind, hoping to force her friend out of the comfort zone she is rooted to and, hopefully, to find love and acceptance as a pack is built from strangers. There are several contestants and the novel is written from multiple POVs, with some overlap on conversations or major events, but mostly written to continue moving the story forward. It is a delightful read as you see the events through the eyes of Ursula, Teddy, Mavren, Lysander, Ash, and Ronan, our FMC and MMCs. The fresh perspectives and insights into personal backstories of the characters unknown to the rest add pertinent background information while helping explain character decisions and the reactions of the remaining MCs. The various perspectives make the story the most interesting, in my opinion, as you get a complete feel for each of the characters, making the story more complete. I felt a range of emotions reading this story, from laughing to crying, feeling for the MCs and relating to them in ways I wasn’t prepared for. Great read with wonderful world-building.

Favorite Quotes:
“We’re not doing our job right, as your pack, if that question is weighing on your mind. For that, I’m sorry.”
“It took Ursula bringing us all together for me to realize what love looks like – what pack means to me.”
“Life without love isn’t life at all.”
“We found it. No matter how difficult, no matter how complicated, we have found each other. We have found home.”
