As a father to a daughter, I kind of get Daddy’s mindset about Soyoung. You’re just constantly observing and watching, all in the name of keeping them safe and unharmed. Does it go a bit overboard sometimes? Sure. But, it’s coming from a place of love. Now in a situation like this with an unsavory, supposed bestie in Maddie, Soyoung should be thankful that her bad ass, violent, and overly involved father was on the clock. Like Brian Mills in Taken, but just three times bigger, packing a 14-inch boom stick. Now, my biggest critique here was that if Daddy was so observant and paranoid, how did he not know how promiscuous and troubled Maddie was? And how was Syoung not so much more fearful of her father? However, despite some shortcomings, I enjoyed the story and the eventual twist with Soyoung. The entire bout of literary chaos had a fast, enjoyable pace, ending with a bang. Figuratively and literally. But this will be an absolute delight to splatterpunk and extreme horror fans. It’s filled with incredible amounts of sex, violence, and even works in some mild humor, too. I remain a fan of the Barns brothers, looking forward to the next book in this series.

Was this utterly unserious fever dream of violence and sex what I expected after reading Kink? No it wasn't, though in some ways it should have been. Did I ugly cackle and swoon at some of the most fun kill scenes I have read in a long time? I sure did.

A Splatterpunk Ride Full of Laughs and Gore!

I needed a good laugh, and Daddy by The Barns Brothers delivered!
I should probably mention that my sense of humor is… let’s say unusual. Some would call it very dark, personally, I’d say absolutely! 🤣
The characters had me laughing out loud, even the ones doomed to suffer gruesome, grotesque deaths under Daddy’s punishment. The plot is quite simple, but honestly, that didn’t bother me at all. This isn’t the kind of story that needs a complex plot. What I really wanted was to see Daddy slowly lose his marbles and find out whether Soyoung could survive the night. And I got exactly that. I had such a great time reading it that I immediately bought the other two books in the series.
If you’re into Splatterpunk with a heavy dose of sexually depraved dark humor, this one’s a must-read.

A young girl and her daddy, both with a raging horniness and a horny rage! Carnage ensues, amidst a backdrop of blood and cum!

Daddy is on a mission, to get his daughter back, and woe betide anyone that gets in his way. He's like the incredible hulk, but horny and merciless, and that makes for one hell of an insane read!

I personally prefer less smut and more gore in my horror, but there were plenty of great and horrific scenes to keep me satisfied. This was mucky, so fucking mucky 😂 and I more than enjoyed the gorefest! I'd love to read something more horror heavy from Crowley next time.

This was an addictive read, a real page turner, with lots of action, sex, violence and gore. Brutal, fucked up, insane kills, and a splattering of dark humour, making it an extremely depraved story, one with a pretty cool twist too.

Don't let Daddy get his hands on you, heck don't let him lay a fucking FINGER on you!! 😲
And if you think Daddy is bad, just wait till you meet Mummy!

A wild ride

That was a fun wild ride. I'm just gonna say it. I LOVE DADDY. It's been I while since I last had a book boyfriend and I chose Daddy. He really is the whole package. Big, strong, protective, muscular, and he loves his family. So yeah he's mine now.
From the first to the last page this book is just a fun time. I'm gonna need more daddy now please.

Unapologetically depraved and hilarious.

I dove into "Daddy" blind, drawn in by the title and cover art. Expecting a macho, Rambo-esque tale of violence and gore, I was not prepared for the sheer audacity of this book. Crowley Barns has crafted a wickedly funny, filthy, and batshit crazy ride that will leave you gasping.

With its unapologetic blend of graphic violence and sexual depravity, "Daddy" is not for the faint of heart. However, if you're open-minded and willing to embrace the absurdity, you'll find plenty of twisted humour and entertainment.

The ending? Wholesome yet utterly revolting. I'm still reeling.

In short, "Daddy" is a devious, delightful romp through the depths of human depravity. If you're ready to indulge in some utter filth, then strap yourself in and enjoy the ride!

*Rating:* 5/5 stars (for sheer audacity and entertainment value)

Soyoung has been protected by her dad as we know as “daddy” until she is 18. Where she goes to a sleepover. After daddy checks her out with references of course. When he tracks her location and sees she has moved he goes on the hunt to find his daughter to make sure she is safe. The friend she is with has not good plans for Soyoung yet she is so excited to be FREE she doesn’t see it! Daddy goes and fucks up everything in sight to get to his little girl. We find out about her history and where she has come from and introduced to her mum. At the end it’s a complete fuck fest 😂 Soyoung and daddy are special and come from a background where they need medicine to keep them functioning normally. Without that they are a pair of angry and horny people. There is a cliffhanger at the end of this where we may see more of the mum which I’m keen to see!

This fast paced story about an over protective father protecting his only child was an absolute banger! He goes overboard in the best ways possible and gives us a story that is action packed full of innocence, sex and violence that ends with a bang!!!! Looking forward to the next book in the series. Thank you Crowley Barns for trusting me with your story. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Fans of splatterpunk and extreme horror will definitely love this story as it delivers everything you could possibly ask for in those genres from the innocence of Soyoung to the creative kills from Daddy!

I mostly had a lot of fun with this one. I liked the concept of the tank sized “Daddy” out to rescue the only thing he cares about: his daughter.

The cartoonish violence (including ripping someone’s arms off and shoving them up their rear) and over the top feats of strength made for a fun read.

The book unfortunately went downhill for me toward the end when it turned to incestuous debauchery, not because of the content itself, but because it seemed like such an abrupt change for the Daddy character.

Going from barely allowing his daughter to have her first sleepover at 18 to winking at her when he walks in on her getting double teamed (by his own trans girlfriend) seems a bit too out there for me.

Maybe the absurdity was the point, but unfortunately that’s where the book lost me.

I absolutely adored DADDY'S protective nature, Soyoung's innocence and Maddie's tenaciousness. The whole concept was crazy, carnal and crummy!

Looking forward to reading more of Soyoung's adventures.

It's like watching porn on steroids.
It's entertaining but pretty repetitive. If I read the word slut or slutty another time, I'm gonna cry.

Crowley Barns is an amazing author, but this book is not the first book I would recommend from him.

Guidelines For Book Reviewing:

1. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever review a book you didn’t finish. It’s ridiculous. If you couldn’t get through it, that’s on you. Who knows? Those last ten pages might have been incredible.

2. Meet the art where it’s at. If a book isn’t your style, fine. But don’t tank its rating just because it didn’t cater to your preferences. Ask: does it succeed for the audience it’s meant for? If the answer’s yes, rate it accordingly.

3. Remember: you’re not a professional critic. You’re a reader with an opinion. Critics follow certain rules and standards. If you’re going to critique, maybe study those—it’ll make your takes sharper and more respectful.

4. Be kind. Writing is hard, and for most authors—especially independent ones—it’s not even their full-time job. Many are grinding away at day jobs while putting everything into their art. These are people, not faceless creators. Mind yourself. Your words have weight, and careless negativity helps no one.

5. Remember, Goodreads is kind of terrible. It’s the Yelp of book reviewing—a lot of people with a lot of opinions, not all of them informed. Be cautious with your words because they do affect people.

6. And finally: never, ever, ever, ever review a book you didn’t finish. Ever.

Now for the review:
Crowley Barnes’ Daddy is pure, unapologetic splatterpunk—very, very splatterpunk. This isn’t just a story; it’s a blood-soaked, adrenaline-fueled assault on the senses. Oh and a TON of explicit graphic depictions of sex. SO....If you’re unfamiliar with splatterpunk, know that it’s not for the faint of heart. This is the genre where gore, transgression, and chaos reign supreme. So, if you’re diving in, be warned: Daddy doesn’t tiptoe around sensitive topics—it stomps through them with reckless abandon. Mind your triggers because Barnes isn’t pulling any punches.

That said, Daddy is an absolute hella fun ride for those who can handle the heat. It’s irreverent, insane, and goes full-throttle from page one. The story is relentless, throwing you into a world of twisted humor, absurdity, and jaw-dropping violence, all while maintaining a sharp edge of wit. Barnes knows how to deliver chaos with style, and the result is a nonstop, pedal-to-the-metal romp that never lets up.

For fans of Splatterpunk, Daddy is a wickedly entertaining masterpiece. For everyone else—proceed with caution, but if you’re brave enough to take the ride, you won’t forget it.

"The fact that his innocent little girl had turned 18 didn't change a thing. He wouldn't let it. He kept her safe. It's what he did. His job, his vocation, his life. There was nothing else left. Nothing."

Daddy's daughter, Soyoung, has just turned 18 and has been invited to a sleepover. She's never usually allowed to have sleepovers, as Daddy is very overprotective. However, he's done thorough background checks on Soyoung's friend Maddie and her father, so what could go wrong, right?

Wrong. Maddie isn't the friend Soyoung thinks she is and has a variety of debauchery waiting for her instead of a sleepover.. Daddy has been tracking her phone, and when he realises that she's no longer at the sleepover, he begins to follow her, destroying everything and everyone in his path in order to locate his precious little girl.

This one is CRAZY. I went into this book completely blind and I was not expecting it to be anything like this 😅 As well as being brutal and violent - the kills being hilarious, fun and different from anything I've read before, this book is SPICY - with tonnes of very graphic sexual encounters and scenes.

I enjoyed most of the characters, even though I really shouldn't have. Maddie, despite being a bitch, is sassy and mischievous and I absolutely loved Lisa and the nasty body piercer 😂

If you like a lot of spice with your violence, and vile but fun characters, as well as a crazy storyline, you'll love this one.

This book was, um…interesting? At first I hated it, and I wanted to stop reading it because I could spend this time doomscrolling on social media lol. It did get interesting, and I even started to enjoy the story and laugh at a few parts.

But things just started going downhill somewhere around the trans character Lisa appearing in the story. Because she now suddenly became a part of a kind of and kind of not incestuous polycule (Daddy, Soyoung, and Maddie). I could give less of a fuck if daddy had a side piece at the end of the story but not a minor who happens to now like ripping off evil men’s penises. (Soyoung is freshly 18 and said towards the end that Lisa is much younger than her! And I don’t even want to think how young).

It just felt like such a flip in the Daddy’s character to just openly fuck n cum in same room as his daughter. This man called like 3 people to interview them, did background checks, and modded his daughter's phone so much it might as well be a GPS tracker and YouTube play button. (Mind you, all she talks about is YouTube this and YouTube that, and it even makes you wonder if she’s 18). Oh, and they keep describing her “dumb, stupid, flat-toned belly.” They were so focused on talking about her abs.

Daddy has always protected his daughter Soyoung since she was a baby. His whole life has been dedicated to taking care of her. When he finally lets her have a sleepover, he makes sure he checks the people she's going to be around. All is good until it isn't.

Soyoung is finally 18 and is having her first sleepover at her friend Maddies. She really hasn't experienced much, but she's excited for the night. Once she gets to Maddies, Maddie informs her that they're going out and having some real fun. Soyoung experiences a lot of firsts and enjoys new things, but Maddie is keeping a dark secret from her.

Daddy is tracking his daughters phone and starts to get angry when he notices her location is moving. He goes on a hunt to find Soyoung, and he's not happy.

This wasn't a bad book. Names got repetitive, but they also made me laugh, which I didn't mind. Lots of sex and the ending was....I'm not sure lol Overall though, it made me laugh, and it wasn't terrible. This family is VERY close.

Pretty amazing read

Wow this is one pretty canned amazing extreme read. I loved Daddy in this. I pictured him just like the cover, that big and muscular that he'd squeeze through a door sideways to fit through. But nothing and I mean nothing stands in his way when it comes.to protecting his daughter. Soyoung daddy's one and only daughter has a sleepover , only it's more than just a sleepover. Sounds friend has other things on her mind. But Soyoung isn't reacting like her friend Maddie expects, so is eager to take advantage. A great fascinating tale that is exciting and full of some brutal violence and plenty of sexual scenes. The action never ends all the way through, with twists and turns, new additions adding into the story with some seriously messed up gruesome sexual ways. Loved everything in this and about this read. Recommended totally!

Another Crowley Barns that goes 0-100 and doesn't fucking stop! This book is Brutal Mayhem and Porn altogether. My first thought is "No one fucking talks like that, not even in 70's pornos". But the more I read, the more comical it became and the more I enjoyed it.

Daddy has spent 16 years raising his little adopted angel Soyoung. He's a bit overbearing and overprotective, but all she needs is one sleepover with a friend from school and him to notice that the night isn't going as planned.

Maddie, with her new best friend Soyoung in tow, have a wild night of alcohol, drugs. piercings, and sex ending with the deflowerization of Soyoung and putting money in Maddies pocket. but as their night carries on and Soyoung is apparently having the time over life, DADDY is trailing right behind them destroying everything and EVERYONE in his path.

Holy boundary pusher guysssss. This story had me messed up lol.

Daddy follows Soyoung as she's been allowed to sleep over at her friend Maddy's house. Soyoung is 18 and has a very strict father. She's never been allowed to stay over at a friends in her entire life. However, Soyoung is not expecting the night of experimenting that her friend has planned for her. This story was quite unhinged and erotic as hell. Meanwhile, Daddy keeps a tracker on Soyoung's phone and is following her trail to prevent her friend from doing something horrible to his daughter.

I'm curious to see what the next installment holds for us readers. Off to read book two right meow.

Barns did it again with this action-packed title! Campy, highly erotic, and boundary-pushing, all while adding layers upon layers of depth to his characters throughout this read. Each one is twisted in their own way while still possessing exaggerated and fun traits that truly keep the reader entertained. Prepare for a page turner with outrageous events that transpire all throughout the duration of one wild, raunchy night of self-discovery, trying new things, and life-long friendships.

“Halfsies,” she said, almost embarrassed.
Daddy bit the cock in two and while he chewed his piece, he fed the other to his little girl, pushing it between her lips. She made sure to suck the juice from his fingers, she didn’t want to waste a drop!

Okay I quite enjoyed this, the whole thing was a little stupid tho 😂. The writing was a little flat but it did keep me entertained and I will be continuing the series:)

Whoo-ee

The stylized writing put me in the headspace of hyperstylized ultraviolence a la Tarantino or Zack Snyder. There's nothing pretty or nice or sweet about this book, but it sure is hilarious and gross and way out there.

Definitely don't pick this up if you don't read splatterpunk or extreme horror to any degree.

What a book. A molly coddled18 year old is allowed to go on her first sleepover. Tricked and manipulated by her so called friend Maddie, she gets drawn into a night of sluttery and debauchery. Unfortunately her maniacal, man mountain of a Daddy gets wind, and unleashes violence and mayhem, to all who have done his precious little girl wrong.

Wtf did I just read... It started off weird & creepy, then it got uncomfortable & quite concerning, & then it was like a switch flipped & all of a sudden it was fricken hilarious. What a ride. I also couldn't stop picturing the protein monster from "Sweet Home" throughout this whole thing too, which made it even more so. Honestly idk what else to even say.

This was insane, which is exactly why I read it and what I expected. Main criticism is the authors use of repetition to try to increase intensity. Wasn't a fan. But big ups on imagination and overall adventure vibes.
