An exercise in mindfulness, self awareness and self healing

As a survivor of some disastrous attempts at DIY therapeutic work and work with well intentioned but overly zealous and impatient therapists more than 30 years ago, I approached this book with skepticism. The 1st thing I noticed in the Zintroduction was the author’s identification of the target reader as women. After reading through the first 4 chapters, I am convinced that there is sufficient attention paid to the importance of remembering and reprocessing in order to discover early decisions and beliefs that formed during trauma and developing strategies to rethink and reframe core beliefs and patterns of thought and behavior. This vital key provides for safe and restorative work vs the often retracting effects of an impatient and overly aggressive approach that results in reliving traumas. The explanation of those distinctions and the strategies and approaches employed in the first part of the book have been impressive. I actually intend to begin this book again and to work through the journaling, CBT and shadow work myself.
Considering my experience with the effects of overly zealous DIY and professional therapy approaches, one can be sure that I am impressed with the care and attention to safe and responsible work in this book. It provides valuable tools for those who seek to heal early wounds and build a resilient and compassionate inner child. The sections on Integrating the lessons and healing into the adult self also ensure the focus continues to move forward with lessons and insights obtained through reprocessing past wounds rather than getting caught up in a re-traumatizing and immobilizing focus on looking backward.

This book was fantastci! Luna created an easy-to-use guide for anyone who wants to feel better or heal emotionally. With simple steps and no need for prior knowledge of therapy, it offers practical tools like journaling prompts at the end of each section. Additionaly she provides you with affirmations to help you heal and grow. The instructions are very clear and practical. There’s focus on improving emotional wellness in a short amount of time. It's perfect for any woman wanting to work on their inner healing and even helps with building healthier relationships in the future. Overall, I found this book to be empowering and an incredibly supportive resource.
