'Utterly heartwarming and life affirming. Fiction which wraps its tendrils around your heart and keeps you turning the pages... Truly a keeper.' Michelle Styles, Author.

Read the brand new novel by Publishers Weekly bestselling author Michelle Smart, where One Day meets Sliding Doors and The Time Traveller's Wife in this thrilling star-crossed lovers story, and be transported back to the 1990s.

Imagine if you could travel back in time and save the love of your life... only to promptly screw everything up!

It's 1991; everyone is going nuts for Robin Hood Prince of Thieves and ignoring the birth of the World Wide Web. It's also the year Alex Hammond gets transported into his 21 year old body.

In five years time, Alex will meet Melody, his future wife, and this time he can save her from the accident that kills her. All he has to do is wait.

But Alex is an idiot and one mistake drastically changes the course of both their lives. Instead of falling madly in love like she did the first time, Melody wants nothing to do with him, her life unfolding as if they'd never met.

Fate, however, seems determined to keep pushing her into Alex's path...

This book is a lovely quirky book which quickly wraps itself around your heartstrings and refuses to let go. It is a time travel or really what could happen if you had a chance to redo your life knowing what you know now and can you save the person you love? I cried several places. It is sure to appeal to fans of things like One Day or Sliding Doors.
Perfect reading for a cosy night in. It is very life affirming.

This book broke my heart in all the best ways. I was hooked from page one and fell in love with Alex and Melody like I haven't fallen in love with characters in a long time. Funny, authentic and wonderful. The pop culture references will have you smiling, and you'll be on the edge of your seat rooting for these characters and their HEA. I was trying to think of comparisons and the heartbreak of Ghost came to mind. Highly recommended.

The butterfly effect

Incredible book that took me back to an important time in my life. The story is told beautifully and I will be thinking about it for a long time.
So much thought has clearly gone into writing this and it really shows. Alice is a great character, they all are very well rounded and believable. I found the story to be deeply touching and I loved it.

A very melancholy story but well-written

If you are in a place that a sad story won’t bother you, then I recommend this one. It’s very well-written and the characters are engaging and real. You may want to have some tissues nearby, because some parts are almost heartbreaking. I did love this, and could hardly put it down, it was so riveting.
