A woman has been abducted from Emerald Island. What horrors await as she is dragged into a boat and disappears into the cloudy sea?
Everyone is having fun at the 4th of July festival on the island. Then terror strikes. Larrisa Campbell, the organizer of the festival, is abducted and carried off in a boat by a hooded man. Agent Kitty and Kia immediately run to help her, but it is too late. Only Larissa’s voice could be heard calling for her daughter, Michelle, as the boat sped away.
Kitty’s new assignment is to find Larissa and apprehend the kidnappers.
She suspected that Larissa’s history with two jailed criminals, one of whom had been released that same day, may be part of the crime.
Michelle was grieving and hysterical. She would do anything to get her mother back. Kitty told her to wait for a ransom call to know what the kidnapper wanted. And, just at that moment, the phone rings…
So many secrets in this one. This series drew in right from the start. It is so incredibly good. I simply can’t put it down until I have read every last word.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Agent Kitty Forrest is just recovering from a bad case that sent her to rehab. She went to Emerald Island for a party after her stint at rehab. She needed something fun. Unfortunately, while she was there, Larissa Campbell, whom she just met, was kidnapped from the party. Things are weird. Kitty can’t find any clues and when she talks to Larissa’s father, he wants nothing to do with it. Or his granddaughter Michelle who saw her mother being taken away. Things are mysterious now. What was in Larissa’s past that made her father act this way? What don’t we know yet. At the same time that she is trying to figure this out, she has dreams about her treatment at rehab with Dr. Hunter. There was some weird treatment where he was going into her head with some sort of electrical treatment. Anyhow, the story moves along pretty well with mystery surrounding Larissa and what led her to being kidnapped. I received an ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.
Kitty, the FMC, is an agent who recently struggled with her job. Her last case was so intense and traumatic that her Director arranged intensive therapy at a hospital. After several months, she's now free, just in time for the 4th of July celebration on Emerald Island.
Kitty hears a 19-year old girl, Michelle, screaming for help, and runs over to see Larissa, the event's organizer, being dragged onto a boat.
This was an interesting book. Michelle annoyed me, she reminded me of a five year old with her attitude and commentary at the beginning. I literally thought she was a child until she mentioned her age. The glimpses of Kitty's sessions with Dr. Hunter made me really curious, and gave me the ick. I didn't realize I was at the end until I reached the end. Mystery, twists and turns, secrets, this has it all.
I enjoyed the storyline, and will likely check out more books if they're similar to this.
A lady from Emerald isle is abducted, pretty much in full sight and bundled into a boat. It's July the 4th and it's festival time so no one really notices what goes on. Agent Kitty is on the scene but is too late and powerless to stop the kidnapping. Trying to help Larissa Campbell's, the abductee's daughter, Michelle. She is working feverishly to track Larissa down before its too late. The trail leads back to the past and Larissa's involvement with two criminals. All Kitty and Michelle can do is wait for a ransom call and then they get one... This was a tense thriller with lots of twists and turns, a great read but very quicky wrapped up just at the end and it felt a little rushed which was a shame. Good story though and kept me reading.
OMG this another great book. It was a thriller of and page turner and the suspense was intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn't even put it down. A crime had be commit in this moment. Could Kitty solve this mystery in this moment was the two sister Larissa and Merissa suspects. Will their mother find out the truth of this mystery and who did this terrible thing. Or will it be a serious matter for Kitty to solve this case. And who will help her with this mystery case. I highly recommend this book and you won't be disappointed literally. It is the 4th of July festival on Emerald Island. Everyone was having a good time until Larissa, the person who organized the festival is kidnapped. With Michelle, her daughter hysterical, Agent Kitty and Kia are on the case. This book is a real page turner with so many twists and ties, and so many secrets unveiled you are taken to the very surprise ending. Once you begin this book, you can't put it down! I highly recommend this short thriller that keeps you totally engaged. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
I love all things Rose Majors and this does not disappoint! Larissa and Merissa are twin sisters, always seeming to be in trouble. Larissa-Merissa is the organizer of the fourth of July festival. She is abducted and carried off to a boat by a hooded man. But which one is it; Larissa or Merissa? Can Michelle her daughter tell who is who? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Rose Majors!!!
Another great Ageny Kitty crime thriller!! I love immersing myself in Agent Kitty's cases and this one definately didn't disappoint. It was quite a short read that a read in one sitting but that was definately a lot to do with how great the plot was and all the twists and turns that kept me guessing throughout! Great page turner.. Well done Rose Majors can't wait to read what Agent Kitty gets herself involved in next!!
Wow - great thriller! Totally twisted and totally unexpected occurrences kept me glued to this book. The character development and relationships were fascinating, as was the storyline. I recommend this book.

Everyone is celebrating the 4th of July on Emerald Island when Larissa, the festival organizer, is abducted. Agent Kitty and Kia try to get to her but it's too late. Finding Larissa and her kidnappers is now her assignment. Kitty is a very intelligent investigator but this case is so full of twists and turns, can she ever sort this out? Best book in this series so far!
Which of the twins did what crime? Which is the mother? You have to read from cover to cover to find out, but in between, love and betrayal cause both prison and death. You will not want to miss all the excitement in this one.
A twister of twins. Which twin is the evil one? Great plot, keeps you guessing until the end. You won't want to put this one down. Looking forward to more from this auhor!
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review.
I received this novel as an ARC read. This is my review. Agent Kitty is out celebrating the 4th of July and is drawn into the kidnapping of Larrisa. A fast paced, well-developed characters and a twisty storyline. An enjoyable read, with a surprise ending I didn't see coming.
Agent Kitty Forrest has her job cut out for her. Identical twins Larissa and Merissa that you cannot tell apart. One has a scar on her wrist, but when one of them is found dead the wrists are marred so you cannot tell which twin it is. A fast moving thriller.
Another great story that will have you gripped until the very last page. An abducted woman, secrets. Will the truth be found out and Larissa found in time. Not to be missed.
