The premise of this novella pulled me in because I'm always looking for something different. Aaron is a scientist, studying a mummy he recently discovered. When he notices the mummy changing positions slightly each morning, he thinks he's either crazy or the mummy is cursed. He begins to research a ton of ancient books and finds some useful information. At the same time, his dream woman is showing interest in him, which is unreal. He's not a lady's man, and his dates rarely lead to intimacy—except in the case of Adriel.
Adriel is a princess trapped in her mummified form for centuries. She only gets a small window every hundred years to break the curse. Her pendant leads her to Aaron. Although she originally seduces him so he'll help her, she quickly develops feelings for the sweet scientist and hopes he won't suffer once she returns to her cursed state.
This was a very quick read that I finished on my lunch hour. Although the plot was enticing, I wished it had been longer. There was some awkward writing style, but overall I enjoyed this paranormal romance and its cast of characters. Emily Cale shows a lot of promise in her story telling.

Adriel is cursed and needs the help of Dr. Aaron Prentiss to break it before she becomes "Sleeping Beauty" once again.
Fast paced and sensual, this story is sure to keep you reading to find out what will happen next. The sex scenes are explosive and spicy. You get the sense that Aaron is a quiet and reserved man and believes that he is below a beautiful woman’s interest. Adriel is a sensual women who is cursed, but seems to be looking for her Mr. Forever. I liked how each scene in this book flowed into the next with barely a blip; it was truly like watching a movie.
If you enjoy a stimulating and delightful read then I highly recommend you read this romance. This story is short but makes up for it with an interesting plot and creative carnality.

This is another one of those books I wanted to like so much more than I did. In the paranormal landscape, tales involving mummies are actually quite rare (considering it's hard to throw a stone in a bookstore without hitting a vampire book. Not that I throw stones in bookstores. Ok, I digress). To make the plot even more unique, the mummy in question is not Egyptian. It's from South America. Emily Cale had a unique paranormal idea on her hands.
Great set-up, interesting premise, poor execution.
