When you get restructured out of a company, there is this weird space you land in. You are free, but you are also spinning. People say things like "You should be a consultant," and suddenly, you're figuring out invoices, value props, and how to say no to people who want to meet for coffee and take your playbook home for free.
That is where *No Brain Picking* comes in. Kevin McCarthy does not waste your time. This book is short, direct, and speaks to the exact moment I was in. I did not need a masterclass. I needed help drawing a line without burning a bridge. I needed the words to say when a former coworker wanted to "connect" but really just wanted my best thinking at zero cost.
This book gave me that language. It reminded me that my experience has value, and that setting a boundary is not rude. It is professional. The scripts are gold. The mindset shift is even better.
