W końcu po długiej przerwie nadrobiłem The Greatest Estate Developer (re-read pierwszego sezonu, i przeczytałem drugi).
Szalenie popularny webtoon, z ponad 180 milionami odsłon, jedna z najlepszych manhw komediowych jaką czytałem, z wspaniale przerysowaną kreską, i ciekawą fabułą (to ostatnie opcjonalnie, bo miejscami to czysty absurd XD).

Na pierwszy rzut oka jest to isekai jakich wiele. Chłop się odradza, dostaje op skille i zaczyna nowe życie z jakimś wielkim celem, tyle że celem Lloyda jest życie na wiecznej emeryturze i górze złota, tak więc używa swoich mocy do zostania czymś na pograniczu scamera i dewelopera wykorzystujące sowich pracowników.
Ten szkielet historii jest pretekstem do żartów z deweloperki, chciwości i twarzy bohatera (ten potęgowany przez kreskę). Seria stoi głównie potencjałem komediowym, chociaż miewa też poważne momenty, i tematy jak np. radzenie sobie z stratą bliskich. Jest to świetna seria którą szczerze polecam, mimo że wiem, że nie jest dla każdego.

Ps. Uwielbiam porównanie Lloyda z LN do Komiksowej adaptacji.

Absolute peak, i feel cringe saying that unironically or at all, but truly best story I’ve ever read. Better than avengers endgame which is the best thing i can think to even compare it to bc nothing else touches the level of storytelling genius this author has created. There’s nothing that makes me laugh or look as deranged as Lloyd than seeing Lloyd’s nightmare fuel faces when he’s scamming people into better lives. I only wish one of the epilogue stories would’ve included his and the queen’s daughter who is also a scammer with a system like her father, would’ve been a truly touching full circle moment to see.

Brilliant. Absolutely hilarious. I was genuinely crying while laughing.

I started reading The Greatest Estate Developer when Season 1 was releasing, reread it from the beginning when Season 2 came out, and did the same again for Season 3 — and somehow it was just as funny every single time.

What makes this series special isn’t just how absurdly entertaining Lloyd is, but how every side character contributes to the humor and charm. The interactions feel natural yet perfectly timed, and the comedy never feels forced.

What surprised me most is how the story slowly makes you care deeply about the characters without you even noticing. You’re laughing constantly, and then suddenly an emotional moment lands — and it hits twice as hard because you’re already so invested.

It’s rare to find something that balances comedy and heartfelt moments this well.

Jesus... Fucking... Christ... I've cried for media 3 times, Rocky IV, Winnie the Pooh: Seasons of Giving, and this fuck ass comic that was supposed to be a comedy. I was bawling in the middle of my college as I read the finale and in the care the next day for like 30 minutes straight. And now AGAIN as I write this. I don't even know where to start because how are you supposed to describe something so beautiful and wonderful and amazing and just great? You wouldn't understand from reading the first few episodes but every damn character is just so human it's painful. When they laugh you can't help but join them and when they struggle you find yourself cheering for them and pushing them from the other side of the screen. I think I love this so much because you can feel the characters very emotions and it's so clear how much they love and care for each other that this sappy feeling is dripping from every damn panel and I've never seen that before in ANY comic. Everything if for the sake of family and no matter how hard it is or what the cost is Lloyd does it again and again and again. Maybe I'm just a sucker for family's but this was beautiful and I'll stand by this even in death. The ending isn't even sad but it's just so fucking beautiful I can't help but cry every time I think of it, maybe that's why I put writing this off for so long because than I'd really have to accept that it was all over. Everything showed not only how much they all love each other but how strong that love is and how not even the devil himself could do a damn thing about it. I really can't describe the writing of BK_Moon, I'd run out of characters here. BK_Moon and all those who brought this story to life, If you by chance see this, I want to thank you infinitely from the bottom of my heart because I have never known a story of such heartfelt wonder and beauty. Thank you for sharing this story with the world and I look forward to your next stories!

I’ve been following World’s Greatest Estate Developer for the past three years, and it has been an absolute joy to see how the story and characters have grown. Lloyd Frontea, in particular, has one of the most satisfying character arcs I’ve ever read. From his clever wit to his resourcefulness in turning impossible situations around, he’s a protagonist you can’t help but root for.

One of the most heartwarming parts of the series is Lloyd’s friendship with Javier. Their dynamic goes beyond the typical master–subordinate bond it’s built on mutual respect, loyalty, and shared struggles, making their interactions both funny and deeply meaningful. The banter between them often adds lightness to the story while still highlighting how much they trust each other.

But what really makes World’s Greatest Estate Developer shine is its comedy. The humor is the heartbeat of the series, balancing out the tension of high stakes challenges with laugh out loud moments that stick with you long after reading. Lloyd’s sharp tongue, absurd yet genius plans, and the reactions of those around him constantly turn even the most serious situations into unforgettable comedic highlights.

As the series comes to a close, I know I’ll miss that unique blend of laughter and heart the most. As the title suggests it was not just about building estates,it was about building joy, friendships, and memories, and that humor will leave a lasting mark.

4.5 stars only because I dropped it the first time I started reading it, but I picked it up again after the series completed. Read too many good reviews on Reddit to ignore.

Lloyd was the first ugly main character I found endearing and I loved how he used his repulsiveness and wit to build an empire. Isekais / game interfaces are typically a miss for me because they’re too serious. This series was refreshingly different. The plot can be serious, but the storytelling was lighthearted and unhinged. The side characters had room to develop without taking too much off the main plot. The ending was…epic. I found myself tearing up at how I’ve grown attached to the characters. I would actually love to be in Lloyd’s estate. 🥹

La historia es esperable, pero los personajes, y su protagonista, lo hacen divertidísimo. El dibujo eleva la historia (hay algunos cambios, debido más que nada al gusto del ilustrador por los músculos), y cada capítulo te hace reír, te mantiene pegada al asiento, o te hace sonreír. Y no es sólo "hago esto porque es cool", las acciones del protagonista tiene consecuencias notorias en la historia... y tiene que enfrentarlas. Y lo hace. Que sea de forma poco, digamos, convencional, es otra historia. Y esta es muy buena de leer.

I genuinely don’t know how many times I can say this, but The Greatest Estate Developer is one of my all-time favorite manhwa. Like, TOP TIER. The kind of manhwa that makes me laugh until I can’t breathe, get emotionally attached to the characters, and somehow teaches me about construction, leadership, empathy, and being human along the way. 😭

First of all… LLOYD.

I love every single emotion this man shows. His greed, his desperation, his confidence, his panic, his frustration, his happiness—and those absolutely insane facial expressions. 😂 I could look at Lloyd’s face for five minutes and already know exactly what kind of disaster is about to happen.

And of course…

LLOYD? WATER!
WATER? LLOYD!

But as ridiculous as he is, Lloyd slowly became a character I genuinely admire.

One of the most heartbreaking moments for me was when Javier asked Lloyd why he kept taking on so much responsibility. And Lloyd’s answer was essentially:

“Without responsibility, I am nothing.”

DAMN.

That line hit me so hard because beneath all the comedy, Lloyd is someone who has built his entire sense of self around taking responsibility. He keeps putting himself in situations where he has to solve everything, protect everyone, and somehow find a way forward—even when the problem looks completely impossible.

And honestly… I relate to that more than I expected.

Through Lloyd, I learned so much about what it means to be human. Not just about being clever or finding solutions, but about empathy, responsibility, and choosing to solve problems without losing sight of the people involved.

I especially love how solution-oriented this manhwa is. Lloyd doesn't just sit around complaining about how terrible a situation is. He looks at the problem and goes, “Okay. How the hell are we going to fix this?”

And then somehow, he actually does.

I also love Ppodong, Bibong, Bangul, and Hamang so much. 😭 My babies. They bring so much life and comedy to the story, and every time they appear, I already know I'm going to have a good time.

Another thing that surprised me is how much I enjoy learning from this manhwa. Construction, engineering, architecture, infrastructure, city planning, problem-solving… Who would have thought I would become interested in all of this because of a greedy-looking man with questionable morals? 😂

And somehow, I never get bored.

There are so many different stories, projects, conflicts, characters, and problems throughout the manhwa that every arc feels fresh. It isn't just one long story stretched out forever. There is always something new to discover, something new to build, something new to fix, and, most importantly, something new for Lloyd to somehow make everyone else's problem. 😭

But I think that's ultimately why this manhwa means so much to me.

I came for the comedy.

I stayed for the chaos.

I fell in love with the characters.

And somewhere along the way, I learned a little bit about responsibility, empathy, resilience, and what it means to keep trying to solve things even when life gives you an absolutely impossible problem.

Lloyd is ridiculous. Lloyd is greedy. Lloyd is terrifying.

But Lloyd also cares.

And maybe that's why I love him so much.

One of my forever favorites. Absolutely top tier. I will never shut up about this manhwa.

This is my first ever written review of a book/webtoon on this site, so bare with me in terms of how I write about this masterpiece.

I wanted to save my first written review for a 5/5 story, and I'm choosing this one because this series delivers on the genre it mainly is which is a comedy to the point where I was in tears and wheezing because this might be, actually not might, definitely is the funniest piece of fiction I've ever experienced. And while it had me tearing up because of the comedy this series has some of the best and most well earned emotional moments that I believe will truly make anyone draw a tear.

Now while it may have some negatives here and there like pacing be a little slow in some places, it is nothing compared to the height of the highs this series has that it just made me forget any negative critiques I had as if it they were obsolete. While this is a webtoon, I believe anyone and everyone should experience this story cause it is just that damn great.

So I highly recommend anyone to read this, especially with all chapters being free on webtoon because I want to share what I consider one of my favorite stories of all time with anyone who reads this review and is convinced to pick this up.

This is a isekai power fantasy. It is also absolutely hilarious. It made me want to laugh probably every chapter. One of the main jokes is how ugly he is when he is being a thug. The distortion on his face keeps increasing as webtoon goes on. It is amazing.

The story ain't bad either. You get to see meaningful development from many characters. It is formulaic, but the comedy is so good that it doesn't matter. I also liked the romance.

It is also like totally shilling for free market exchange, which I love to see. It is actually so good this would be some economists favorite webtoon.

There is no moment where I didn't laugh! I had so much fun reading the manhwa. All the reactions of Lloyd, and the dynamics between him and Javier are so good! And that ending? Ahh! Iyak malala. hahahaha. But happy with the ending!!! Soafer, it's so good talaga. Di ko rin akalain iiyak ako don sa dulo e hahaha. Anyway, I would love for this manhwa to have anime version. Pls lang. Ang ganda e.

You can read it for free on Webtoon app (both android and iOS)! All of it are free except the latest spinoffs. Around 4-5 episodes I think. But main story ended and it's all free :)

The story, the characters, and humor (especially) is top tier. The main character isn’t like your typical main characters. He doesn’t mind if people think he’s scum (or ugly). So many times the main character, Lloyd, has caught me off guard with his actions because of his unpredictability (scum-ness). The art too is 100/10 just for the different faces Lloyd makes. I’m always bursting out laughing.

I’m really going to miss this series now that it’s done but I’m for sure going to come back to this series again when I need a good laugh.
