Stars Hollow meets Halloweentown in this new cozy witch mystery series from #1 bestselling author, Jane Lenore (J.L.) Vampa, the perfect read for fall and fans of Pumpkin Spice Cafe and Legends & Lattes
Gloam Hollow is a quaint mountainside town of magical creatures---witches, vampires, dread monsters, werewolves, faeries, and even trolls. When a murder disrupts her small-town life as a witch, Blair Wardwell does what she does she meddles. Join Blair and her mystical friends in the Gloam Hollow Series as they solve cases and embark upon cozy adventures in bakeries, book clubs, and bubble baths.
Mortal Mayhem: Samhain is approaching, and two murders have occurred in the sleepy town of Gloam Hollow. Not to mention Blair's maybe-someday-if-people-stop-dying boyfriend Aramis has an assassin after him from his days as a private investigator. In the midst of Blair using her Witchy sense and potions to solve the case and Aramis too, her best friend Lacuna drops a bomb that she knows where a portal into the forbidden Mortal Lands is... And someone has come through it.
What a cozy, late fall vibes murder mystery! This really tied in with the first book and answered some of the leftover questions from the first. I was a little sad as the last chapters had some unanswered at the end with some of the new plot lines introduced in this book. I hope that the author will release a third book to wrap everything up neatly!
This was still a cozy murder mystery with whimsical characters, but this story was a bit darker than the last. I enjoyed the first book in this series a bit more, but I also enjoyed this read and getting to find out some of the answers to the mysteries begun in the first book. If a third was released I would definitely reach for it as I enjoyed the new mysteries brought up with some of the new big characters in this book.
Again- I loved that there were cozy recipes that matched up with the book at the end! That pecan coffee recipe looked so yummy and cozy and perfect for fall!

🌟 Overall, I loved this book. It's centered more around Lacuna, and it was nice learning more about her. I'm glad that the mysteries from the first book were solved but this story ends on another cliffhanger and the third book isn't out yet. 😅
I did enjoy the book and it's laugh out loud moments. The romance was sweet and there was a new romance being set up with another two characters. Definitely will read book 3 when it comes out.
I loved this book! It’s a great magical and easy read but the characters are so engaging for me!
This picks up where the mystery left off last. Blair is looking into who is trying to Kill Artamis still while also dealing with other mysterious around the town.
If you want a fun read and enjoy the magical world, these books are for you! I’ve very much looking forward to more from this series! Oliver has to be involved for a reason. I think the next book will be about him and Lac!
Mortal Mayhem is, as book one, a perfectly cosy murder mystery set in the town of Gloam Hollow. It has Gilmore girl vibes all around but in a paranormal setting. It's a perfect light autumnal read. I think this one is my favourite so far in the series. I can't wait to try all the recipes at the end of the book!!
This book took me longer to read than the first, although just like it, it was a great comfy cozy Fall read. Perfect for being cuddled up in a comfy blanket with some hot tea. If you want a book with vampires, witches, ogres, and dread monsters, this is the book for you! There is zero spice other than sometimes they kiss. I would say it would be safe for a teenager.
This book answered a lot of questions from the first book but not all of them. I wonder if there will be a third book? Just like the first one, this is a comfy cozy Fall mystery. It's a perfect book for sitting in front of a fire with a comfy blanket and some hot tea.
Such a cute fall read. I personally enjoyed book 1 more but this was a cute way to wrap up the story and set up for another book. It’s a great Palate cleanser between heavier fall reads.
