Allyn Keely, Celtic artist and friend of Faerie, finally finds a man she can love. But she's older than he is and faces the insurmountable task of helping him realize his destiny in the Otherworld.
Successful businessman, Jaye Zeroun prides himself on his realistic, but lonely, view of life. Until Allyn knots her way around his heart and fills his life with a fantasy he refuses to believe. Then danger threatens their love, forcing him to either accept a deadly battle or lose the very things he never included in his a family and a love beyond his wildest imaginings.
I don’t usually read books about faerie and crossing back and forth to the human world (or Otherworld) but *lizzie starr’s By Keltic Design kept my interest and kept me reading. This story brought a new perspective to what I like to read with interesting characters and storyline. She brought me to the place I actually wanted to know more…more about Jaye and his life before that he couldn’t remember, how a tattoo was important, how Allyn and Derek can get Jaye to remember his past and save the present and future. Of course, not story is complete without the bad guys and these were pretty bad! This story keeps you wanting more.
I believe this was *lizzie’s first book and I loved it. I plan to read through the series. Jaye and Allyn have such a beautiful story. I love *lizzie’s interpretation of the Faye and how she weaves the Otherworld and the world we know together so seamlessly. You will be sad to miss this story if you enjoy fairie folk.
By Keltic Design. Double Keltic Triad Book One. Lizzie Starr Review from Jeannie Zelos Book reviews. I love paranormal and fantasy, and when it involves Fae the potential for something really different is high, so I was looking forward to this book. Sadly it didn't work for me. I found Jaye odd, supposedly a successful businessman he meets Allyn at a convention where he is overseeing an event and, attracted to her he...asks her out? no... asks her to come to the bar for a drink? no. He asks her to tell him a bedtime story, as he's been having trouble sleeping! Then later, when she hasn't responded to his numerous emails, the only point of contact between them, but turns up with his assistant Tommy's boyfriend to take him to a Fae Fair he goes without question...they walk across a car park into another world, and he takes it all in his stride :o - I just felt he'd have acted differently right from the start, as a successful businessman he'd have questioned more, been more resourceful, proactive, but instead he just tags along without questioning anything. Then the food at the Fair, I was expecting mead, wines made from fruits and trees, honey cakes, little delicious titbits like mushroom pasties and fruit breads soaked in nectar...and what did they have, beer, coleslaw and grilled turkey legs. Have you seen the size of even a small turkey leg. Mum used to roast one for a meal for the five of us, they're not dainty things and just didn't fit the mental image I had. Sadly at this point I gave up. I just couldn’t find any credulity in the story. Maybe I’m just too literal, and need to be more open minded, but for me a story has to have characters I love (and hate of course, need the bad ones ) and a plot that's realistic within the parameters of fantasy of course. Maybe you can ignore the parts that didn't work for me, and go along with the story and enjoy it – we all like different things, and this is just one persons view. From the four and five star reviews I'm clearly in the minority, but that's what makes books so exciting, that there is always something for everyone whatever your personal taste. Its priced at £1.92 for 230 pages. Stars: Two, the story just didn't work for me. ARC supplied by Netgalley.

The first book in the Double Keltic Triad serial gives a good introduction to the series. The characters are solid and intriguing enough to keep me turning the page. While I don’t think any of the characters were developed enough, they functioned well in their respective spots. Half the time, though, I was wishing for some more background on everybody. What’s with Derrik? Tommy? Searlait? Heck…the division in the fae world? How could a half human be so powerful (Jaye)? I felt that the focus of this book was more on Jaye’s journey back rather than the romance between Jaye and Allyn. IT also irritated me a little that Allyn seemed more concerned about their age difference than their difference “difference” (her being all human). I am hoping that the rest of the series gives us a look-back to them as well as give all these characters a continuing and evident presence.
