Belle Aurora

Belle Aurora is thirty-something year old and was born in the land down under.
At an early age she fell in love with reading. Boredom one summer had her scouring the bookshelves at home. She stumbled across Sandra Brown’s Breath of Scandal and fell in love with romance.
Having been brought up in a loud and boisterous family of Croatian descent, she developed a natural love for dramatics and laughter. Only some years ago had she discovered a new love.
Humorous romance novels.
So many authors had opened a brand new world where she could lose herself yet feel safe and at home in their stories. Belle has been known to become a screeching banshee while anxiously awaiting their newest titles.
Belle never thought she would write. It had never interested her until recently. Friend-Zoned began to form and in February this year Belle typed the words Chapter One. And she fell in love.
With words.
With writing.
With a creative imagination she never knew she harbored.

Belle Aurora is a USA Today best-selling author.

Well done, Belle Aurora, well done!

Night Fury takes you on an action-filled ride full of suspense, intrigue, nuns in training to be assassins with a cool codename and steamy secret encounters with a forbidden love interest.

Then the final page happened-

Catarina is 18 years old and is training to become a nun. But actually she is training to become a killer. This whole church/ nun thing is just a cover for her and other members of the organization she is living and working with. In reality they kill bad people like rapist, pedophiles and so on.

So Catarina is a very good student. She is in training since she was 5 years old and seems to be really good at it.

So far so good..

But as the story progressed I got more complaints. Overall I like the idea but the execution was too unrealistic and a little too easy.

First of all Catarina's juvenile behavior. I know you can't be that mature with 18. But killing people requires some amount of matureness. I thought Catarina would be some kind of hit girl.

She sounded so badass in the blurb. But in the actual book I didn't see anything of it.

And then how the hits went down. It was like this:
- Find target.
- Go to target.
- Tell target you're here to kill him.
- Kill target.
- Let evidence disappear.
That was just too boring and way to easy. No thrill at all.

And then there was Catarina's latest hit.

What was that???

Her target is a man in his mid-thirties who is apparently a pedophile..
She sets him up and pretends to be a 15 year old high schooler who was dumped by her boyfriend on the road because she wouldn't kiss him.
So she gets in this man's car, he promises her to take her home and eventually they start kissing.
Then we’re kissing. And fuck me, I have to press my legs together. Hard. I’m extremely aroused.
He softly kisses my lips, keeping his hands to himself and only using his lips to start with.
Pulling back, he asks, “How was that?”
I blink. “It was good. I liked it.” I flush, knowing I’m actually not lying here.

Then she rubs herself all over him until she comes (2 days or so before she was still a virgin btw).

After that she tells him she is here to kill him.
“Why couldn’t you just leave those girls alone?
They didn’t want you, and you forced them.” My brows rise. “That’s a big no-no, Mr Hyke.”
“That’s a lie,” he hisses. “Every fucking one of them was begging for my cock, just like you were, you little whore.”

But she doesn't believe him and kills him. I'm wondering why she didn't believe him since she was def enjoying herself too.

I'm also wondering why she had to make him kiss her? She could have just killed him.

What about the romance part?

So that are the main reasons why I didn't enjoy this one. And I don't think I will continue this serial.

Book – Night Fury : First Act (Night Fury #1)
Author – Belle Aurora
Publication Date – June 2, 2014
Type – Part of Series
Genre –New Adult
Rating – 4 out of 5 Stars

Book provided by Author (Blog Tour) in exchange for an honest review.

I am conflicted about this book…in a sense I enjoyed every second of the book….but then again I have questions and am confused.

Just one confused moment and I’ll move on to the rest of my feelings:

So, Catarina has been in her garden and outdoors for 2 years without being part of the secret society and Flamethrower has been a part of it for 1 year…and during that time she didn’t see any of the guys in the barn? But after being reintroduced – she continually sees them outside the center?

Other than that…I fucking loved it!! The action is non-stop – the book had me going for awhile and I cringed a few times thinking about what really goes on behind church doors….but then again – looks can be deceiving.

I can’t go into too much detail here or I will give the book away…but just think of this…action packed, vigilantes, sex, blood, gore, priests, nuns, and more sex!!

Gotta pick this little goodie up!!

Why Ms. Aurora did you have to end Night Fury with that cliffhanger? … *insert pouty face!* haha. Sitting here writing up my review I'm thinking what the fuck did I just read!! I kid you not!! I'm still trying to figure it out!! BUT that ending is killing me!! I'm pleasantly surprised and a little mad I have to wait for Act 2. This wasn't even a full-length book. What's up with authors doing that lately? If you're familiar with Aurora's work then you are already expecting a great story. For the first installment in this novella series, Belle Aurora's"Night Fury" was an action packed, thrill of a ride that (at times) left me feeling a little hot under the collar. I would advise though that you take your time reading this book (as short as it is) because you'll be given a lot of information with a few big twists thrown in for good measure. It's these curve balls will make you second guess what you've just read and have you flipping back pages just to double check... don't worry... chances are you'll be right in your thinking!!! When I saw that Belle Aurora was coming out with a new book, I just knew I needed to get my hands on it. I think I still have a book hangover from Raw and wanted to see what other types of books she can write. She thought she had lost her mojo, but let me assure everyone out there she hasn’t. Night Fury was awesome! I really love this author! Book is great, little short for my taste,so just for that it's 4* rating. I'm never disappointed with Miss Bella writing,so this one is not exception either. Can't wait for another one! Belle Aurora has done this too me again!! She has written such a captivating and unique story and then makes me WAIT! Ugh! However, as much as I belly-ache I LOVE a story so good you keep hitting your computer for more pages after you know its done and Night Fury: Act One left me hitting my computer for a bit!

NightFuryFirstAct

Where do I begin? Ahhh… I need Act Two like right NOW!! Why Ms. Aurora did you have to end Night Fury with that cliffhanger? … *insert pouty face!* haha.

Night Fury by Belle Aurora is a fast paced, mysterious and suspenseful serial that will have you glued to your kindle. I literally devoured this book in an hour and wanted to know more of Catarina also known by her codename Night Fury. So what is Night Fury all about? Let’s just say this book reminded me of a mixture of the movie Sin City and a Marvel comic book. In this fast paced book, Ms. Aurora packed so much excitement, mystery and action that it kept you on your toes guessing what’s going to happen next. I don’t want to spoil the book for the readers but I will just say: Appearances can be deceiving. Justice is served. And secrets and truths are yet to be exposed. On that note, I recommend you immersed yourself into the life of Night Fury and the cast of secret vigilantes with code names such as Moon Shadow, Flamethrower, Data Stream, War Paint and there’s even a Father Robert!!

4 NIGHT FURY ASSASSIN STARS

Sitting here writing up my review I'm thinking what the fuck did I just read!! I kid you not!! I'm still trying to figure it out!! BUT that ending is killing me!! I need the next installment because this ending pushed me over the cliff!! And I don't do cliffy's!!

The church is all Cat has, she has no family, she was born to be what she is.

TRAINING AS AN ASSASSIN

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Cat is not your average eighteen year old, for starters she lives in a convent, has no memories so to speak of her mother or father the closest a father figure for her is Father Robert who teaches her to fight.

DAILY DISGUISES

Cat has been training from the age of five

EXTERMINATION - THIS IS GODS WILL

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Marcel Dupont - Churchgoer, Landscaper, Gardener, Husband, Father, Wife beater, Drunk, Pedophile. - Parishioner by day demon by night.

I can not let him live

Cat's first mission didn't go so well so she was pulled from the programme and is ready to fight again..

A fax, email or a phone call to Mirage will end a persons life in a matter of days, and more so than not it will be done by the hands of Cat.

VIGILANTE

I really really need the next installment!!

When I first saw that Belle Aurora was writing a short serial series, I had to pick it up. I've only read one other book by her, Raw. However, I loved Raw so much that I decided to read through her back list, and pick up all of her future releases. I'm so glad that I made that decision. She is becoming one of my favorite authors.

First of all, I have to say how gorgeous this cover is. I love how the bright blue stands out against all of the darkness. With Cat holding her famous katana on the cover, you know that this book is going to be action packed and kick-ass.

Belle Aurora definitely delivers on that promise. There was never a moment where I was bored, or wanted to put the book down. Even when Cat was just hanging out at the center, and not doing any fighting, she had an exciting life filled with suspense.

I loved the characters. Frankie (or Sister Francis if Sister Arianne is around) was my favorite character. I loved how funny she was. She could make the best out of any situation, good or bad. I appreciated how she looked after Cat. Even though they aren't related, Frankie really was like an older sister to Cat. Marco was incredibly sexy. I would love to have him as a book boyfriend.

After reading Night Fury: First Act, I am now an even bigger fan of Belle Aurora. Her back list just got pushed to the top of my TBR. I loved that the book had a few dark moments, although it definitely wasn't as dark as Raw. I can't wait for Second Act. I have so many questions I need answered. What did Cat find in the end of the book? What happened that night with James? I hope these questions, and others, are answered soon.

This is kinda personal.

I was really excited to read Night Fury: First Act. I love assassins and I'm a BIG fan of bad-ass characters and I know that this book is definitely my cup of tea.

Yes. It was my cup of tea, but the flavor was all wrong.

When I say that this review is kinda personal, it means that it bothers me deeply. I'm a CHRISTIAN and a Filipino, so I grew up with a belief that "THOU SHALL NOT USE THE NAME OF GOD IN VAIN. Ten commandments, remember? My parents drilled that into my head and despite my swears and curse words, I try not to include the Lord's name when damning someone/something.

Christian or not though, I'm not sure that if my Muslim friends read a book that's about some characters killing people all for Allah will enjoy that book. Some may like it, but I think they would have the same feeling as I have.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not self-righteous or something. I was just sad and disappointed to read that the "good guys" here in the book are killing horrible people (pedophiles, wife-beater etc) in the name of God. I was not bothered that they were nuns or that they were killing people. I've read Robin LaFevers's HIS FAIR ASSASSIN series and I've read a lot of books that have assassins on them, so I was actually thinking that I'll enjoy this one too.

I would have enjoyed it butit bothers me that the characters believe that all the killing is all for God's will.

You may say that: But didn't the nuns in the Fair Assassin series kill people by their god's will too?

---Yes, they are. But their god(s) are not my God.

You may say that: But this is fiction! You shouldn't get all personal with it.

--Shut it. I go all personal with my books.

For me, this book is written in a way that I can truly enjoy what I was reading. I like the pacing and the characters and I think some people will really love this.

As I've said, this is my cup of tea, but hell, the flavor has gone wrong.

I can't get into too much detail with this book because I will give away the story. But let's just say that when I started to read this I would have never guessed what this book was actually about. I feel like the beginning was misleading lol and I actually enjoyed that! I hate books that are easy to figure out. This book will keep you hooked! I want more! That ending Jesus what am I supposed to do with it? I swear I need book 2 today!!

well, that wasn't at all what I've expected from the book!!

* my thoughts before reading....
oh yeah! that's what I need right now.... some heartless bitch, cold blood killing, suspense, action ,anticipation and some fucked up shit!
what??!......no one can seriously blame me for that....come on people, look at the cover and blurb!!!

*what I found in the book was soooo....um...not what I've expected!
it was like a story about a life of a teenager toying with a sword and thinking she's the big deal!!
it was all about her and boys and heart breaks.....drama, drama and freaking drama! *rolling my eyes!

it was a huge disappointment! :/

I’ve always been a huge fan of Belle Aurora, and her versatility as a writer with the publication of Night Fury solidifies her awesomeness. Night Fury totally sucked me in, and it was over entirely too soon, but when the other Acts come out and more information is learned about Catarina and the vigilante group she’s a part of, I know it will be worth the crazy ride Belle takes her readers on in this first installment.

All Catarina has known since she was a little girl is that she’s destined to fill a role for the greater good. It’s her calling – it’s God’s will. The cause that she’s assisting with remains unclear, especially to readers, and even with the small insights we receive, we’re still left wondering what it is she was born to be. The one thing that is clear is that things are definitely not what they seem.

Night Fury is jam packed with action, suspense, and steam. It will leave readers wondering who these justice seekers are and why they are called to do the things that they do. At the end of Act I, readers might not know much about Catarina or where the story is headed, but just like Cat’s faith keeps her motivated to fulfill her duty, our faith in Belle’s writing and storytelling will keep us reading until all is revealed and resolved.

Title: Night Fury: First Act (Night Fury #1)
Author: Belle Aurora
Release Date: June 2, 2014
Genre: Dark, New Adult
Series: Yes
Rating: 5+ stars
Cliffhanger: Yes…but don’t let it scare you away from reading this book.

Holy Hell…where do I start so I can remain spoiler free? Ok…here it goes…

Cat (Catarina) is a horny NIT (Nun In Training).

Her surrogate father isn’t really a “Father”.

Her best friend Frankie is a fellow Sister (who is banging the Father at the church).

Her second best friend is a 24-inch Katana sword.

Cat is a trained assassin...who likes to cook, garden, pray and prey on her targets. Her targets are the dregs of society – child molesters and monsters. They don’t stand a chance against Cat, aka Night Fury.

Nothing appears as it seems.

That’s all you are going to get from me. I promised a spoiler free review and you need to experience this book on your own. This short, twisted story reads like a wicked combination of the movie Point of No Return movie and the hit TV show Blacklist -- on speed. I’m saying my prayers...please let Book 2/Act 2 come fast. Thanks for the Kindle Crack Belle!

I'm pleasantly surprised and a little mad I have to wait for Act 2. This wasn't even a full-length book. What's up with authors doing that lately? If you're familiar with Aurora's work then you are already expecting a great story. Undoubtedly, the plot is quite different from what I'm used to reading. However, I felt the characters lacking in a few places especially with Cat. Though she's young, 18, she sometimes felt even younger.
Okay aside from Cat being a little on the immature side, she also has another side. The assassin one.
“After tonight, after what I did, I don’t feel as if I have a right to remain pure. I want to be tainted, to be as imperfect as my job.”
Killing is her life, or, at least, it is now having killed two men. If you read the story, you'll have a vague understating why she does this and how it makes her feel. I thought it was a bit twisted but who am I to judge? I'll be looking out for Act 2 and hopefully it'll help with the puzzle in my head.
Oh and it ends in a cliffhanger. (As if I didn't see that coming). Yikes, not a full-length book and a cliffhanger? Talk about wanting the next book ASAP.

☆☆☆☆☆ 5 Mind-blowing Stars.

OMG! Belle Aurora has done it again. This book had me on the edge of my seat. I just had to devour it and I did in 2 hours.

This book is mysterious and suspenseful and the excitement that Belle Aurora put into this book is beyond amazing, I couldn't tell you how much I loved this book. Your eyes will be glued to your kindle as was mine. I needed to know what happen next.

And the characters were so very relatable and the plot was out of this world I felt like I was in the story myself. There's a lot of action/sex and blood that I'm still gripping my mind around.

And that freaking cliffhanger. oh the bloody cliffhanger I just need to get my hands around book 2.

Please Belle Aurora don't make us wait too long

i> Book Gifted for Honest Review

For the first installment in this novella series, Belle Aurora's"Night Fury" was an action packed, thrill of a ride that (at times) left me feeling a little hot under the collar. I would advise though that you take your time reading this book (as short as it is) because you'll be given a lot of information with a few big twists thrown in for good measure. It's these curve balls will make you second guess what you've just read and have you flipping back pages just to double check... don't worry... chances are you'll be right in your thinking!!!
I will tell you one thing, so listen carefully and heed my warning:
Things are not always as they seem.

So without giving too much away, "Night Fury" tells the story of Catarina (a nun by day, an assassin by night) but there's so much more to her character than first meets the eye. Be prepared to have a truck load of questions swarm your mind and be prepared NOT to have all of them answered. See, Belle's done a great job in teasing us with how this plot could potentially develop, drip feeding us bits of information, giving us flashbacks from the past, knowing full well this will only feed our appetites, making us hungry for more.... and trust me, by the time you've read the last word on the last page, you will want more. Yes there's a cliffy.... maybe not a heart dropping cliffy but definitely one that sent my crazy ass mind into overdrive.
"If you get yourself killed, I'll find a way to resurrect you and kill you myself."

So all in all, a great introduction to "Night Fury." The characters were likable, the plot engaging with a story line filled with mystery and intrigue. I'm looking forward to seeing where Belle takes this series ... I have a feeling it's only going to get darker and more f**ked up the deeper we get into their world. I rated this book 4 Hearts.

"You killed a man last night, but you're scared of a man you work with because you had a hot dream about him?"

My reaction to this book: UMMMMM THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!! I NEED ACT TWO LIKE RIGHT NOW!!!. This beautiful work of wonder blew my mind like crazy!

"Call me an ice queen, brain, 'cause my care factor is zero."

So this book starts with no context as to what's going on. Our main character, Catarina, has been "training" to be a nun since she was a little girl. I feel if I explain what happens then it ruins the effect for readers. All I'm going to say is we've got nuns/priests in disguise. We've got secret code names. And we've got some kick ass vigilantes taking down one sick bastard at a time!

"Music is a beautiful thing. So is communion wine. When you take music and add communion wine, you're in for a good time."

Overall, I LOVE THIS BOOK! This is my first Belle Aurora book (**gasp**) and this book is totally deserving of 5 STARS out of 5 STARS. I cannot wait for the next book. The way Catarina thinks about herself and the reason she is codename: Night Fury blows my mind. She's an 18 year old with the mind of a killer.

OH MY CATARINA!!!

I am so lucky to have been given an ARC of Night Fury. Having read all of Belle Aurora's book, Night Fury has been pushed up to be read from all the others! and there is absolutely no regret!

My name is Catarina.
Or, that’s who I was christened to be, anyways.
I live in a convent. I am a nun in training. A postulant.
I am eighteen years old.

I am a predator.
No one is safe from me.

I am protected.
No one can get to me.

By day one way, by night another. They call on me.

My name is Catarina.
Codename: Night Fury.

No one is safe from me.

I will come for you.

Why oh why are you so good Belle! Right from the beginning, I was sucked right into the action! So may questions bombarded into my brain. The synopsis only says who she is and what she is. A Predator. First Act is an introduction as to what kind of a predator Cat is. A nun with a different kind of mission.

This book is OH SO MAKES YOUR TOE CURL GOOD!!! There is not a single complaint coming from me. Everything in this book is perfect. Dark! HOT! Action Filled! Violent! Not predictable at any moment! Book Gripping CAN NOT PUT IT DOWN BOOK!!! AT ALL!!! The only hang-up is the cliffhanger!!!! arghhh!!! I know Night Fury: First Act is scheduled to be released very soon but I can't help but ask, Please Belle Aurora, when is Act two going to be? and how many acts are we to expect?

Things are not always as they seem.

There is so much I want to say about this book, but to be honest it is really a book of secrets and revelations. In this serial, with each chapter we learn something new about Cat and the life she leads. Just when you think her life is one thing, Ms. Aurora reveals something that takes you down an entirely different path. It is one of those books that what you think you know, really isn’t.

Night Fury is filled with darkness and questions and eroticism. The synopsis gives away about all you need to know. Anything that I could reveal in this review would only serve to spoil the book. So with that, I am just going to say one click Night Fury. Once you are finished you are going to understand where I am coming from. There are just some books that really only need the tag “read it” and this is one of them! Hope you enjoy it and I can’t wait for the next one!

Ladies meet your modern day Batman, Code name: Night Fury aka: Catarina

Nun by day, Crime fighting Vigilante by night. OMG this story is BADASS brilliant.

Night Fury, Act 2 has quickly become my most anticipated releases of the year and my newest obsession.

This is the first book I have read from author Belle Aurora and WOW I am impressed.

I went into this book knowing absolutely nothing about it, and I quickly thought, sex and religion, huh, this could be awkward. A few pages later, I get secret ops missions, code names, hot guys, hot sex, and oh yeah I am on board.

This is the book I have been waiting for. It was pretty early on that I knew I was reading something fresh and new. The original plot with all it's twists and turns, and secrets were enough to keep me turning the pages. This is a really short introduction to Nigh Fury, but I promise even with a cliff-hanger you want to read this now. It's been awhile since I got this excited about a series and let me tell you I am EXCITED.

Belle Aurora has done this too me again!! She has written such a captivating and unique story and then makes me WAIT! Ugh! However, as much as I belly-ache I LOVE a story so good you keep hitting your Kindle for more pages after you know its done and Night Fury: Act One left me hitting my Kindle for a bit!

I will admit to not reading the synopsis before I signed on to read Night Fury. I know Belle Aurora can tell one damn fine story so I just said "gimme" and jumped right in going purely off the fact that this story was written by Belle. Night Fury sent me on a ride I wasn't expecting and kept me curious and a bit turned around about what I was reading for the first half. Then BAM, things were revealed that took the story into a whole new place and I couldn't stop reading! Just when you get comfortable and start understanding this crazy world Catarina is living in, there is a TWIST and then you are done with this first act of Night Fury and you *might* scream a bit at your Kindle when it won't give you more story! (again, this was a good thing).

Belle Aurora has a great way to getting her readers invested in her stories right from page one. Night Fury took me a bit to understand what was going on and then makes sense of what I was actually reading but once I caught up, the ride was unbelievably addicting. Belle Aurora isn't an author that shies away from pushing the envelope and she is really bringing something new and refreshing to the New Adult world with Night Fury.

Night Fury: Act One is part one of a series and it is a novella length story that packs a punch with its interesting concept and original characters. I can't wait for more of this story and see how everything connects and twists/turns (this IS a Belle Aurora story, you its coming) before it the ending reveals all. If you are looking for a quick read that will get you excited about a new series then Night Fury is a great choice to immediately 1-click and start reading. If you are a fan of Belle Aurora then enter the giveaway, then just go buy this book, you won't be disappointed! I haven't been this excited for a second part in a series in a while and I will try to wait patiently while Belle does her magic and I have a TBR that could bury a small house to keep me busy, but seriously, I NEED Act Two!!

Catarina/Cat, codename: Night Fury, along with other men and women live their lives in a convent and give off the impression that they're righteous and holy. No way can any outside person even imagine what's really going on. Who would think that the nuns and priest of their local convent are actually assassins?

Cat was a surprisingly awesome heroine. She's fierce and sassy and though she's made a huge mistake in the past, she's dedicated to the cause and ready to rectify the past. She's hell bent on proving herself worthy.

There's certainly a lot to grasp in this first installment. This is the kind of story where you want to go slow and make sure you read and absorb every word. Even then, you'll be coming up with a thousand questions... which will hopefully be answered in the next act.

I felt a little out of my element at times during this book. Some parts were very risqué and out the box; essentially nothing I've ever read before. This book has a very unique premise and that's what drew me in immediately. I'm not religious, and I understand the characters aren't really nuns and priests, but I was a bit wigged out by the naughtiness of this book in connection with religion. I began to get comfortable with it towards the end and was then left hanging. I'm talking a serious cliffhanger.

I'll certainly pick up the next act someday.

Catarina “Cat” aka Night Fury lives under the façade of a wholesome Nun in training but really has been training as an assassin. The real Cat is a perfect blend between the two personas: both sweet and sassy. She’s everything you’d want in a kick-ass heroine. After a past mistake she’s out to prove herself to the others at the “nunnery” aka vigilante organization. Throw in an overbearing Father, a couple of Nun/secret agents, and one seriously bad boy and you’ve got quite a team!

When I read the blurb for this book I was instantly looking forward to reading a book about a naughty Nun, a concept both original and promising. However, after reading the book I have more questions than thoughts on what I read. Granted this is the first act in a serial I feel there was some necessary information skipped over that would have been helpful for the first installment. Exactly what is the nunnery? Who are they? Where did they come from? Are they really religious figures or is that solely a cover-up? What was Cat’s tragic mistake? What happened “that night” in Chapter 1? Now most of these questions I could be patient on but the tone in the writing was so strong that at times I had no idea what I was reading- for example in Chapter 1 I thought something horrible happened to Cat as a child but a few pages later “oh” there wasn’t anything bad…but what WAS there?

Also, I had a hard time connecting with the story line or the characters. There were several derogatory remarks made in the book towards LGBT people including “f@ggot”, “rug-muncher”, and “…men are just trouble and I should think seriously about turning lesbian.” To me personally, this factor was a huge turn-off in regards to the book.

Although the book didn’t really fit with me I think a lot of people will like and enjoy it. I have heard wonderful things about the author from fellow book lovers so I will still pick up another read by the author in the future.
