A little mess turns out to be a lot of fun in this delightful adventure starring Rosemary and her very long ears—for fans of Harry the Dirty Dog and Pretzel.
Join Rosemary on a walk through her neighborhood with her best friend. There are puddles to splash through and leaves to play in—OH NO! Before too long, Rosemary is a mess. But she knows that if you never get dirty, you may miss out on all the fun!
This charming story from award-winning creator Susie Ghahremani introduces a lovable, joyful pup and celebrates the thrill of letting loose.

Rosemary's long ears make such an adventure for her and her friend. They also collect all the memories in a day and get washed off at night to start anew the next day. A fun, quick read without a deeper meaning other than having fun with those around you.
Rosemary is just the sweetest little dog version of every preschool child. The readers follow her on a messy adventure outdoors, celebrated by her owner and friends. Each page is colorful and energetic and reads aloud wonderfully. This is a perfect preschool, library, or bedtime story. The writing and illustrations feel modern and timeless.
First sentence: "Let's go find some fun!" Rosemary springs past her best friend with long ears flapping up and down...up and down...like wings flying! Nose to the ground, she sniffs this way, she searches that way, her long ears following along.
Premise/plot: Rosemary the dog with LONG ears has a messy, messy day and needs a bath by the end of it.
My thoughts: Rosemary Long Ears is exactly what you'd expect it to be. A LOVELY picture book starring a long-eared dog that is super-adorable and delightful. Rosemary and her human are out for a walk, and on the walk she gets SUPER dirty. Many adventures are had. Some of the narrative style reminds me of the early Pete the Cat books.
I enjoyed this one. I think it's a good fit for young readers that enjoy dog stories.
Sometimes, you've got to let your ears down and let your paws get dirty to have a little fun. This sweet picture book follows weiner dog Rosemary and her best human friend through a day of fun around the neighborhood. It's full of puddles, leaf piles, and all kinds of young people taking delight in a day outside. At the end of the day, we see Rosemary and her friend delight in a luscious bubble bath. The art is as bright and lively as the text, making this a surefire hit for young readers–especially those who love a good animal story. This has been a go-to gifting title this year.
I hosted a class read aloud for this one, and the kids were mesmerized by Rosemary and her fun mess! Gorgeous art with a classic feel, and a story that begs re-reading. A must-have for dog-loving kiddos!
ST for dogs or ears. A cute dog with long ears goes on a walk with their owner and gets their ears all dirty. A fun shorter text book with cute images. Kids will love the dog and you can do many actions with kids as you read about what the ears do.
Bright, fun and super cute, with antics a child would certainly appreciate! Hand-lettering works along side a simple typeface to emphasize action and opposites, supported with bold and large illustrations with lots to talk about! A good storytime book (love the playground endpapers)!
The illustrations in this book reminded me of older kids books, such as Harry the dirty dog. The story was OK, nothing bad or super exciting. Just an average book.
Rollicking and sweet story of a charming dog with VERY long ears who gets into, well, everything is a fun read. Kids will love those long, debris collecting ears.
