My queen Kennedy Ryan always delivers!!!!!

I’ve been waiting for Hendrix’s story, and she did not disappoint! She was such a strong FMC (as are all the women in this series) and seeing her find someone that doesn’t try to take away her independence, but rather shows her he’s there for her ALONGSIDE all she’s accomplished and is doing (all while also seeing her for who she is) WAS SO BEAUTIFUL TO WATCH! (Or read, I guess lol)

There’s many side plots going on in this, but they’re important to the overall story! I do think this one was a TADDD long, but I love this fictional world & these beautiful female relationships

This book didn’t just tell a story - it reflected one. Every chapter felt like sitting across from friends while they poured their hearts out. This whole series felt like a tv show playing out in my head. The dialogue is spot-on. I felt the emotions in my soul. The representation was seamless.
I laughed at the banter and throughout chapters, I teared up, I highlighted paragraphs. This is the kind of book you don’t just read, you feel deeply. Easily, 5 stars.

this book had me giggling and kicking my feet in advance.

which is why i really don't want you to read this review. because while i loved the first two books in this series, i did not like much about this one while actually, you know, reading it.

don't say i didn't warn you.

the problems start with the fact that i just don't really...think these characters are good people?

hendrix is a publicist / venture capitalist who invests in AI startups. maverick is the founder of a sports betting app (gag). they take private jets together to steal ideas for selling at extortionate rates. maverick mentally threatens to fire his employee for gratefully looking at hendrix as she brings him food and pours a $200K bottle of whiskey over hendrix before they have sex (?).

when i read romance, i like to pretend i live in a fantastical world where everyone is nice and no one has to have degraded morals in order to live in a pretty house and eat out for every meal and not let a job get in the way of a whirlwind love story. that's my prerogative.

i was already not rooting for them, but this is also just not a story that works for me. the dramatic obstacles involve hendrix saying no about 500 times while maverick ignores her. then they have a lot of sex. then hendrix says no 500 more times. then they live happily ever after.

it's not my preference.

bottom line: this is not my cup of tea, but it seems like it is everyone else's!

2.5 stars — and no one’s more disappointed about that than me.

I was so hyped for this. This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year. I’ve read two of Kennedy Ryan’s books before, Before I Let Go and This Could Be Us, and they hit. One was a 5-star read, the other 4.5. So when I saw Hendrix was getting her own story? I was already prepping my heart for a 5-star emotional wreckage. But this? This wasn't it.

At its core, Kennedy Ryan’s strength is emotional depth — connections that feel lived-in, raw, and real. But this book? It didn’t have the heart. And that's not just me being dramatic — I’m dead serious. I read 63% of it before switching to audio because I was this close to a slump. The writing wasn't bad. The themes were important. But something in the execution just... fell flat.

Let’s talk about the premise real quick: Hendrix is a badass, child-free-by-choice woman running her own thing and taking care of her mom, who’s battling Alzheimer’s. Maverick is a tech billionaire (of course) who happens to be the ex of someone Hendrix is becoming friends with (cue the drama). They connect at a party. Sparks fly. There's instant attraction. And then... nothing.

This book tried to sell me on “soulmate-level love” but all I saw was shared trauma and lust.

Maverick and Hendrix had no real emotional chemistry. They were constantly talking about how they felt so seen, but the only real connection was:

- they both didn’t want kids
- they had family members with Alzheimer’s

That’s it. Everything else was just sex and forced “he’s chasing me, I must resist” tension.

And don’t get me started on Maverick and his ex, Zeze. Look, I didn’t love her character, but they were together for three years. She literally called his daughter to make sure that even though she and Maverick had broken up, she would still always be there for her. And he started pursuing Hendrix the day after their breakup announcement. Yeah, they had already broken up, but still — the timing was off. The man said he never loved Zeze. Like?? Dude. You dated her for THREE YEARS. Why were you playing house with someone you didn’t even love? It gave me the ick.

And Hendrix? I get it, she and Zeze weren’t besties. But they were getting closer, and she knew the history. It just felt messy — not in a fun, angsty way. Just... uncomfortable.

Also, where was the emotional follow-through? This book started with Hendrix saying her mom’s illness was going to be a huge focus. But after a few early chapters, it was barely mentioned. I get denial, I really do, but this was like the book itself forgot about it.

And Maverick, especially, felt like a cardboard cutout of a love interest. He’s rich, hot, wants what he wants. That’s it. We’re told he has depth, but never shown. And his daughter—who was supposedly his everything—might as well not exist. He doesn’t talk about her, doesn’t miss her, doesn’t even act like a parent.

And don’t get me started on how little time we actually spend in his head. Dual POV? More like Hendrix: the main show + Maverick: occasional footnote.

This book felt like a step back.

After the emotional highs of Before I Let Go and This Could Be Us, this one just… didn’t touch me. I wasn’t moved. I wasn’t swooning. I wasn’t rooting for anyone. It felt like an unfinished draft of a Kennedy Ryan story—the bones were there, but the soul was missing.

And that hurts to say. Because I wanted to love this. I expected to love this. But sometimes the books you look forward to the most let you down the hardest.

Would I still read more Kennedy Ryan? Absolutely. She’s brilliant. But this one? Didn’t get enough.

i can’t get enough of them!! (pun intended)

this book gutted me in the best way. It’s an achingly beautiful, soul deep exploration of friendship, self discovery, self worth, grief, healing, and the kind of love that doesn’t just make you swoon it changes you 😫 every page held me by the throat and kissed my forehead at the same time. i didn’t think I’ll love it this much giving the fact it’s my first of hers i didn’t even know what to expect.

this what Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez wanted to be but never will be!! if you read that book and felt underwhelmed, like it almost got there but didn’t stick the landing, then let me that this book what that story wanted to be. the emotional beats, the raw personal battles, the tender but tough love omg Kennedy Ryan took all of that and delivered. it bruised my heart in the most beautiful way!!

I’ve had her on my tbr since forever (the Hoops series has been on my radar since 2019 lol), but I started here because I got an arc. and even though I’m technically reading the final book first, I don’t regret it one bit. If this is the last story, I cannot wait to go back and read how it all began. hendrix’s circle of friends already feels like home to me, and now I need to know everything about them. they’re all amazing 🥺

He raised her to be as strong and bold as the women he admires, and that kind of quiet, everyday heroism hit different! everything about him was so healthy it SCREAMED wealth, not because he’s a billionaire but because that emotional intelligence was rich ✨

this book Is the kind that sneaks up on you, wraps around you, and won’t let go 😭 It’s tender and generous in affection, in space given, in dreams protected. there’s a kind of selfishness in how they love. this desperate, aching desire to give each other everything. and it’s not without pain. there’s grief, resistance, fear, but there’s also hope, laughter and so much damn longing. every scene is layered with mutual worship. it was so raw and joyful and bittersweet and sexy and so real that it made me forget I was reading. It cracked me open and left me better than it found me. i love them so fucking much your honour 💖

Pleeeeeaaaaaasssse no it can’t be all over 😭. This series has had me in an absolute chokehold. Not to be dramatic, but it’s honestly one of the best things that’s happened to me. I’m really going to miss these romances where actions speak louder than words💪🏾😤.

So, we finally got Hendrix’s story!! And yep, she’s exactly the kind of woman we’ve come to know in the earlier books. I loved that it didn’t feel like I was meeting her for the first time. It was more like getting to know an already good friend on a deeper level. She’s such a relatable character, especially for someone like me who values independence. And even after getting into a relationship with our charming mogul, Maverick Bell, she still stays true to herself. I loved that for her.

Hendrix and Maverick’s relationship is genuinely adorable. I didn’t quite feel the deepest emotional connection that would’ve made this a full 5-star for me. All the lavish gifts and grand gestures early on had me like whew: It’s giving love bombing 👀. But honestly, their actions throughout the book really reassured me. You could tell they were in it for the long haul.

And like all of Ryan’s books, it’s never just about the romance. This one dives into heavier themes too like Alzheimer’s and the grief of losing a loved one. My heart broke every time Hendrix was hurting. It was raw, it was real, and I know so many readers will relate. Maverick’s family has been through loss too, and I loved watching them support each other through all of it.

Of course, I can’t end this review without shouting out my favorite trio! The friendship between these three women? Unmatched. Yes, the romances are cute, but nothing compares to the love in this sisterhood. I cannot wait for the next book Ryan has in store!! Ryan, you better be cooking something up!

Before I Let Go is one of my ultimate favorite books and I will 100% recommend that book every single time anyone asks for recs because it's that good. However for me, both This Could Be Us and Can't Get Enough didn't hit the mark. Don't get me wrong, Kennedy Ryan is a phenomenal author and she just knows how to write the best characters, it's just that last two books didn't give me the same feels that the first one did.

One thing that was consistent in all three books, aside from the amazing writing, would have to be the portrayal of strong woman. I loved reading about each of them: Yasmin, Soledad, and Hendrix. All of them give off hustling, girl-boss energy and it's such an empowering thing to read about. I also love the distribution of plot to romance in this. It's not hardcore romance, but it also doesn't shy away from deep feelings.

Overall, this is a good series, especially if you like women's fiction style books where there's still romance, but more than that there's woman empowerment. I might not have loved the last two books as much as the first one, but this is a good series still. Usually, after I find my favorite book in a series, the other books end up being lackluster, so that's probably why I didn't love the later two. However, they're not bad books by any means and I still think it kind of depends on what tropes you like more. For me, the second chance aspect in the first book drew me in.

Although, I love how this series is on people when they're in their late 30's. I read so much about people around my age or a little older that it's refreshing when I read about people who are at different phases of life.

Overall, it was not my favorite, but like I said above, it's not a bad book. So, I would still recommend this series as a whole.

Book 3 of this series was just as amazing and books 1 & 2! I absolutely loved Hendrix in the first books, and was looking forward to her story. This book touched on some touchy subjects, such as caring for elderly parents with illness, taking care of your mental health & body positivity. In spite of this, Kennedy Ryan managed to also have me cackling out loud, at some of the funny scenes and sayings. I loved the brief updates on Soledad & Yasmin & I still love their pure friendship.

The deep dive she took on Alzheimer’s was nothing short of amazing. The way it accurately depicted how this disease wreaks havoc on not only the person that’s diagnosed but also their loved ones, was powerful and emotional.

Maverick… Where do I start. This good, honest, hardworking, faithful, billionaire black man that I simply adore. I fell in love with his character from the mere mention of this name & Kennedy absolutely portrayed his character extremely well.

The narration in the audiobook… Let’s just say Wesleigh Siobhan and Jakobi Diem can do no wrong in my eyes. The way in which they brought life to these characters should be studied! I love every single thing they narrate, but this one resonated! I’m unsure if it’s because I went into the story already having an emotional connection to some of the characters or not as to why this one hit different, but either way EXCELLENT job!

- Finished this book SO fast and wish I could have savored it even more because it was just so so good. We really got to see a totally different side of Hendrix in this story than in the last two books and it’s wild how she was able to be such a great support for Soledad and Yasmen while she had so much struggles of her own behind the scenes.
- This one is for the women who are trying to do it all - be the best friend, auntie, daughter, and still keep a handle on their career. The ones who want to juggle it all. Seeing all the emotions Hendrix goes through while trying to do this was so relatable.
- LOVE how Mav was begging on hands and knees for Hendrix to give him a chance. For her to let go of the reigns of her independence and let someone in. If you want to read a book about a man that falls first and HARDER you’ll love this one.

Hendrix’s story was everything I could have wanted and more, it’s raw and real, there’s laughter and tears along the way and so much love!! I was gripped from the moment I started until I finished!! (Which was in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down!!) so beyond obsessed with Mav and Hendrix!!
If you haven’t read a Kennedy book yet, what are you doing?? RUN!!

Kennedy Ryan always builds awareness for a variety of topics in her books, and I LOVE that. Appreciated the Alzheimer’s representation here.

But there is just something about her romances that I have a hard time fully connecting with. I think it’s one of those cases where we have instalove trying to disguise itself as a slow burn.

The last quarter of this book also felt quite out of place and disjointed? I appreciate the storyline and the importance politically, but it felt very out of the blue and would have preferred it to be more interwoven throughout the entire book, so it didn’t feel so random.

I DNFd the first in the series and didn’t read the second but needed an audiobook. I don’t know if Kennedy Ryan is for me but I haven’t finished a book from her yet.

I think my issues are things a lot of people would not be bothered by but I was. I think I’ve read one billionaire romance and it was by Christina C. Jones and I loved it. But this did not work for me.

MMC has made some of his billions from a sports betting app. 😑😑😑. Absolutely not. Especially in the year of our lord 2025? When so many people have gambling addictions and sports betting apps are making it so easy for people (especially men) to gamble and lose so much money! I just can’t.

Hendrix, the FMC, works in venture capitalist space, okay fine. But during a pitch they’re talking about technology that uses AI to customize the best skin match” for a foundation and sorry, I don’t need anymore reminders of AI’s takeover.

I won’t say it’s a negative but I also didn’t want to hear about Alzheimer’s again (after Say You’ll Remember Me). I listened to the author’s note, I know it’s a real condition (I lost my grandmother to the disease) and it’s horrible but I’m not in the space for that in a romance. I also read some reviews that maybe it’s not even that much of the story, it kinda falls to the background? But just wanted to mention that.

Another convo in the book that annoyed me but won’t annoy most is the content creator convo. I think someone’s talking about their kid finishing college (?) and doing makeup (?) content instead of their career path. And Hendrix is encouraging bc of course she’ll make way more money in content creation than whatever she went to school for. Which is true, sad, but true. But I’m over the content creation is the path for everyone narrative in real life and don’t need it in a book either. Petty? Idc

I just didn’t care. Their initial meeting was whatever and I just don’t care to watch their story unfold, especially after reading some reviews. That’s a wrap for meee

Kennedy Ryan’s writing is superb. I love her Skyland series and its emphasis on sisterhood. The three heroines of this series were more than just friends, they were sisters.

The first two books focus on Yasmen and Soledad, and the final is about Hendrix. Hendrix is the fun auntie and the perpetually single one. Then she meets Maverick. He’s forbidden, but she wants him. A lot is going on in Henrdix's life, between her busy career and caring for her mom, she has a lot on her plate. But can she make time for a complication like Maverick?

I adored Maverick. He cared so much for Hendrix and always showed that she was first. I also loved Hendrix’s family. Her mom and aunt were fantastic. As someone who works with Alzheimer's/dementia patients, Kennedy wrote that part of the book so well.

The romance was wonderful, but my favorite thing about this series is the friendship these three women share. I love everything Kennedy Ryan writes, and this book was no exception.

not over exaggerating when I say that this is the best book I’ve ever read. in my life. and even though I’ve said that about other books before, I mean this with my whole heart, body, mind, and soul. if you want your life changed completely, read this book. actually, read the whole series. or honestly, anything by Kennedy Ryan. it's all amazing. she’s amazing. 10/10, no notes.

(I think I am updating my rating to a 3 star. I enjoyed parts of this but overall feel kinda let down with Hens story. I feel like she deserved the same amount of depth and like connection as the others and it kinda lacked that (for me.) it felt kinda messy and just overall not quite a 4 star like I originally put)

Kennedy!!!! I laughed and I shed tears and I also cringed a touch (hello birthday scene). But nevertheless, it was one of my skyland sisters and I love my honey angels!!!!! Hen is so funny and absolutely crazy and I love her!!!! And mav was hot and exactly what she needed. I don’t think kennedy can write a book that won’t tug on your heart strings a touch (in a good way) but I think maybe overall I didn’t feel as like. emotionally connected? BUT IT WAS GOOD AND I LOVE MY SKYLAND FAMILY!!!!! Seeing everyone together made my heart freaking melt. I love everyone and their happy endings and their beautiful families. And once again, I shed tears over the friendship between Yas, Hen, and Sol. (using their nicknames bc they are my best friends) their friendship is beautiful and so strong and heartwarming and I can just cry thinking about them.

It saddens me to write this review because this was one of my most anticipated reads of the year. The first two books in the skyland series made its way into my top 10 reads during the year that I read them.

Unfortunately Cant Get Enough missed the mark on several levels for me. For starters, this Hendrix felt much different than the one we’ve been introduced to in book one and two. Of course we were suppose to get different shades of her in her own book and I thought she would shine, but Hendrix felt one dimensional to me. And to think of it, all the characters did.

Maverick as a MMC is someone I could never get behind. I’ve had this conversation with multiple friends who got the ARC and we all agree. He seems to bounce around and doesn’t really know what he wants.

- SOME SPOILERS BELOW-

Them as a couple felt weak. I honestly wish we didn’t meet Mav the way we did. He could have been literally anyone. Just another man at the party who she meets either through Zere or just organically. The whole Hendrix, Marv, Zere thing was unnecessarily messy.
I could never feel their connection and because of that. I could not root for them as a couple.

Mav has this I don’t want to be serious with anyone unless it’s Hendrix vibe, But we never get to the reason as to why he’s so attracted to her. He sees her dance on top of a table at a party and is instantly drawn to her and they have a conversation where they share family trauma but thats about it. I don’t see how that one instance made him want to go out of his way and Cant get Hendrix off his mind and insistently pursues especially when she’s saying no. Why does Hendrix like him??? The night after the party she’s thinking that anyone would be lucky to have him?? Why does she think and feels this way after one interaction? She doesnt dont know him. Their emotional connection needed more development.

I also could not bring myself to like Mav because if we really look at him. He gives the impression that he doesn’t even like Zere. Let alone wasted both of their time for 3 years and claims he loves her.

I feel that Hendrix’s decision for not wanting kids was a plot device to make her fit into Mav’s life because he doesn’t want kids. However, towards the end when asked by his father if he would want kids if Hendrix did, he says yes even though he was extremely adamant about never wanting anymore kids. Why? What makes her so special that he would change his entire outlook on life for her?

The side interactions with Skipper & Bolt??? It felt like it was trying really hard to play into typical rom com troupes that made it hard to read. That entire "side plot" could have been cut out.

I did enjoy the bits between Hendrix and her mom and aunt, and of course with her Yas & Soledad. I have a lot more to say on why this didn’t work for me, but I don’t want this review to be extremely long.

Hopefully this does not sound too harsh, because I am not trying to be.

All that said. I’ll always be a Kennedy Ryan fan. I love what she has done for the book community. Her books enrich lives by educating us while simultaneously pulling at our heart strings. Cant Get Enough felt like it was trying to accommodate and appeal to the readers of the romance genre who prefer a certain type of romance. If this wasn’t a Kennedy Ryan book I would have DNF around the 20-30% mark. Of course there are people that will love this. This one just did not work for me.

Oh it’s been a while since I’ve read a Kennedy Ryan’s book. I missed that feeling of picking up one of her books and being completely immersed. This book specifically was so her, so filled with emotions, deep topics, and intelligence. It made me wanna go back and reread all her blacklists I deeply loved. Don’t be surprised if you see me do just that. Getting all those cameos from her previous books didn’t help. I was screaming with each cameo we got!

“I’m chasing my dreams,” I finish with as much strength as I can muster.
“I’m chasing you.”

Those characters are perfect for each other in every way. The level of understanding and maturity those two have?? Hendrix is so freakin admirable. She’s a woman who knows what she wants and how to go after it. She’s compassionate and loyal. She’s fierce and independent. The way she gives love to those around her is amazing. The woman’s friendship and support was definitely a highlight for this book.

Maverick is definitely book boyfriend material. He’s driven, intelligent, and sexy. I love the way he loved our girl. He’s a man who knows how to worship a woman. How persistent he was? Ahhh. I love the way he kept pursing her, spoiling her, fighting for her and caring for her.

Alzheimer’s a topic that makes me so emotional. The mention of the disease have always affected me for some reason. I don’t know anyone close to me who have it, but it has always been a fear of mine. To lose that control of my identity or someone I love suffer from it.

“Falling in love with you is the easiest thing I’ve ever done,”

I loved the way Kennedy handled that in Hendrix story. The way she presented caregivers. I loved the way she handled the case. I loved the way she talked about women who want to or don’t want to have kids. I loved the way she handled everything. I love her women and their love interests. I love the way her story was so thought provoking, romantic, and emotional at the same time. Kennedy is not just a great writer but she’s such an intelligent woman.

5 stars isn't enough. 6 stars isn't enough. What a transcendent, breathtaking, emotional, and powerful book. Deeeeeeply romantic and moving beyond words. I spent the last hour of the audio book in tears.

I don't see this book being unseated for my favorite read of the year.

Kennedy Ryan is the finest writer of this day. Period.

There are books that entertain you, and then there are books that transform you. Can’t Get Enough is the latter.

This story follows Hendrix, a fiercely driven and emotionally layered woman navigating career ambitions, caretaking, and the difficult art of allowing herself to lean on love. What Kennedy Ryan does here is nothing short of extraordinary. She paints a portrait of strength that isn’t defined by isolation, but by the courage to be seen, supported, and soft when needed.

Even as someone who didn’t personally relate to Hendrix’s lifestyle choices, I was completely undone by her emotional journey. This book felt like a love letter to Black women, an affirmation that we belong in every space, especially the ones that were never built with us in mind. It reminds you that allowing yourself to receive love, in all its forms, doesn’t make you weaker, it makes you whole.

I cried through so many pages, not out of sadness, but because the story moved me. This is without a doubt my favorite book in the series and my favorite read of the year so far. Kennedy Ryan just has a way of reminding us that the human experience is beautifully complex and worth every tear.

i think the feeling i had for most of the book was disappointment?? i just wasn’t vibing with some parts of it.

i admire hendrix and her independence. she is her own rich man and i’m here for it!! but i think her selflessness, while not a bad thing and a great quality to have, ended up being part of her downfall for me. she’s so worried about other people that she doesn’t take any time to be a little selfish. i was screaming at her to go get her man because YAS independent black woman but also please go climb that hunk of a man 😭

maverick is just wholesome. he’s not like golden retriever wholesome but he’s a man that knows what he wants and he went for those things. he’s extremely supportive of hendrix and claps back when he needs to. i don’t have anything but praise for that man.

zere…she’s only getting a mention because she pissed me the fuck off. 80% of her personality was bUt I cAn ChAnGe HiM. girl…be so fr 😭 i wanted to push her off a cliff. she needs to go through the five stages of grief then move on because it was clear as day that she and mav were not a good fit.

i enjoyed the alzheimer’s rep and the way kennedy built up hendrix’s world as a venture capitalist. i had a lot of fun reading who’s business would be next and how the already funded businesses were already doing and the [redacted] at the end tied it together really well.

Can’t Get Enough brought back the yearning. the worshipping. the kind of romance where the man isn’t just in love, he’s on his knees for her. that’s the reason why Kennedy Ryan remains one of my absolute favorite authors. her male characters never love halfway. they adore, they fight for, they see. Maverick? he was no exception to the rule. he didn’t try to mold Hendrix into anything smaller than who she was. he held her strength like a privilege. it was simply beautiful.

and Hendrix. I’ve been waiting for her story for quite some time and and she didn’t just live up to it : she eclipsed every expectation. strong, grounded, never afraid to ask for what she wanted or walk away from what didn’t serve her. she wasn’t written to be soft for the sake of softness—she was real. I loved every corner of her character.

their romance wasn’t built on noise or spectacle. It was intimate. laced with quiet history and soft, electric tension. every glance felt like a memory, every touch like a vow. and every conversation had weight.

and then there was the Alzheimer’s arc mingled with faith. that hit somewhere tender. too real, too raw in places… too close to home. but maybe that’s why this book is going to stay with me longer than most—it dared to tell the truth in between the kisses and the ache.

Kennedy Ryan always writes these romances that make me emotional! Can't Get Enough follows Hendrix, a Black woman entrepreneur & agent who is also caring for her mother who has dementia. Romance is not on her to-do list, until she meets Maverick, a Black business man who is almost a billionaire. But he's the recent ex of one of her clients, so despite the undeniable attraction, she really shouldn't... (we all know she does)

This is both very emotional AND very steamy! Things HAPPEN in some wild places! (like the coat room at a party) It's tackling some difficult subject matter, but is also an excellent romance I was rooting for them to be together. It features a couple that does not want children, which I know many people want to see more of, and references to attacks on programs to support Black entrepreneurs feel very timely. A great book and I definitely recommend it. Kennedy Ryan also has GREAT audio narrators! They killed it. I received an audio review copy via NetGalley, all opinions are my own.
