Fake dating is always gonna draw me in.
This one had all the shenanigans you would expect with a fake dating trope and more.
The characters are engaging, emotional without being too deep, and the band or merry side characters totally delivered.
Highly recommend giggling your way through this one.

I feel soooo lucky and I am soooo grateful to have received an eARC copy of this book because, y’all, it is so good.

I loved the interactions and banter between Ethan and Chase. He’s Hollywood’s heartthrob and she’s his director. Of course he’s off limits…right?

Until Chase is presented with an offer (more like ultimatum) to get a million new subscribers to their network by Christmas and this is where the real fun begins. I was laughing out loud and loving every minute of this. I also really loved Ethan’s family omg!

Through all the shenanigans, Chase can’t help but feel something towards him and Ethan gets blindsided by his feelings for her as well. I highly recommend this cute and spicy Christmas romance (🌶️🌶️🌶️ btw) as it will have you unable to put the book down.

I loved this one! The audiobook was so well done the narrators absolutely nailed the humor and chemistry. They brought Chase and Ethan to life in a way that had me laughing out loud more than once.

This book is the perfect mix of grumpy/sunshine banter, holiday chaos, and slow-burn tension that turns into something genuinely sweet. Chase is the serious, slightly uptight director trying to save her job, and Ethan is the charming (and infuriating) actor she’s forced to work with. Fake dating, family shenanigans, and plenty of hilarious moments follow and I was smiling the entire time.

I listened to the audiobook version and it was really good; a very slow burn cozy but slightly spicy contemporary romance between a director and her leading man dubbed “the King of Christmas”. In this Hallmark-like scenario, tropes include enemies to lovers; he falls first, fish out of water and of course there is a HEA!

That this means spending Christmas in FL with his family and all of their quirky holiday traditions, all while live streaming and doing what they can to drive views toward their new movie.

📝 As always, this Melisa Ryun book was SUCH a blast!! If you want some Christmas fun and laughter along with some spice, this is the book for you. The tension, the bossy ice queen vs the friendly heartthrob, the fun Christmas in Florida moments (never will I ever want to wake up to someone’s pet alligator!), the Florida family and side characters, steamy moments, the forced proximity, the going from wanting to get as far apart as possible to unable to get enough of each other… I loved getting to know these characters and had so much fun along the ride!!

🎧 The audiobook narrators, Audrey Obeyn and Luke Persiani, absolutely brought these two main characters and all their humor (and tension!!) to life. This was my first time listening to a Melisa Ryun book on audio rather than eyeball reading it, but I felt like the narrators really gave a lot of personality to Chase and Ethan. They also did a great job bringing the side characters and their different accents to life!

I had really high hopes for ‘Fake It 'Til You Sleigh It’ based on the festive premise; I was looking for a fun, cozy Christmas listen. Unfortunately, this one wasn't quite the right fit for me.
The story definitely embraces the holiday spirit, but I personally found the plot and dialogue to be too much on the 'extra corny' side than I typically prefer. At times, the level of cheese felt a little cringey, making it hard for me to fully settle into the narrative or enjoy the romance.
The narrator's performance certainly brought energy to the characters. However, even their talents weren’t to my liking—which surprised me as I usually love the quirks narrators bring to a story.
While this book didn't work for me, I can certainly see it appealing to readers who absolutely love the most sugary-sweet, over-the-top holiday stories. If you're looking for a Christmas romance that goes all-in on the cheese, this might be your perfect match. For those who prefer their seasonal stories with a little more subtlety, you may want to temper your expectations.

Let me tell you, when I say this book made me laugh.. I mean it made me laugh. Literal tears streaming down my face and every time I thought about the “fish” scene, it had me laughing so bad I would get the giggles and couldn’t stop. All of these outburst took place a work so of course my coworkers looks of concern just made it all the better.

This book had all the best enemies to lovers banter, hilarious inner and outer dialogue, spicy scenes that made your face hot and all the will they, won’t they worries you get in those last few chapters.

Overall such a fun, spicy, don’t think just read holiday rom com!

The story on gets better the second time around, especially when you get to hear these characters come to life. The narrators did an amazing job bringing out these characters (no cringe worthy voices or saying words strangely - which is something that gets me every time). Don't listen to this around others unless you want them to judge you for your random outbursts of laughter and red face from the spice (when it hits.. man does it HIT).

I don’t usually read many physical books (I’m an audiobook girlie), and I had a pile of beta reads on my plate, but I promised I’d give it a try. I’m SO GLAD I did because I had an absolute blast reading this!

Chase is a writer and director of Christmas movies for the Cherish Channel, but she’s also a total scrooge. Growing up without happy Christmas memories, she’s channeled her holiday spirit into crafting picture-perfect Christmas movies instead. Ethan, the star of many of her films, drives her nuts. He’s hot, charming, and endlessly frustrating with his “helpful” suggestions on set, not to mention his adoring fan club that tracks his every move.

“He’s in his element, a golden retriever in human form, all easy smiles and effortless charm.”

When her bosses threaten her job if she doesn’t bring in a million new subscribers by Christmas, Chase panics and blurts out a lie on air—she’s dating Ethan. Instead of her usual Christmas spent writing in solitude at a remote cabin, she’s stuck heading to humid AF Southwest Florida with Ethan to keep up the charade. Together, they’ll need to convince the public of their love story, live-post updates to generate buzz, and try not to kill each other in the process.

Dislikes:
•It felt a little long for a Christmas story, but that might be because it took me forever to read.

The Down & Dirty:
Fake It ’til You Sleigh It by Mélisa Ryun was a blast! This is a sexy, hilarious Hallmark movie in book form—but better, because it features a Hallmark-like movie as part of the plot. The Florida setting made it stand out from the usual tiny Christmas-town romances, and the characters were fun and memorable. If you’re looking for something unique and wildly entertaining, I highly recommend this one!

Oh. My. Goodness. In true MeLisa Ryun form, this book was HYSTERICAL!! I loved this story so much and I laughed so hard! Chase was such a fun character to watch as she worked and fought for her career! I loved how she was willing she was to do whatever was needed to push for what she wanted in her life, even when she had to reshape her views for her future! She was such a real, raw character and I loved getting to see her grow and accept the love and support in her life! And Ethan was just a blast and a half to watch as he pushed Chase to her limits, but also continuously supported her however he could! I loved that he was a rock for her as she was well outside her comfort zone, but still maintained the humor and antagonization through their adventures! Getting to watch these two grow and blossom together was just so amazing, and they were the perfect example of enemies to lovers in the workplace!! And the side characters we got to know that were just so funny and made the whole world absolute perfection! And getting to experience this as an audiobook made the whole thing even funnier; these narrators were just perfect and made it so incredible!! Overall this was so fun, and just a perfect addition to the MeLisa Ryun universe!! 5 stars; 3.5 chili peppers

If there is one thing that I can be absolutely sure of, it’s that Melisa Ryun is going to deliver an absolutely hilarious, melt-in-your-seat romcom every time. And let me just tell you, the audiobook of Fake It ‘Til You Sleigh It definitely hit the mark.

The narrators, Luke Persiani & Audrey Obeyn, were absolute perfection. Their voices were exactly what I pictured for Ethan & Chase. They had perfect inflection & pacing. Luke & Audrey’s characterization was spot on and make the characters feel so real. The way they voiced the secondary characters really set them apart and gave them each a unique voice that brought them to life. I will be listening to more books narrated by these two for sure.

This book was such a fun, chaotic Christmas romcom. Ethan is the swoony, charming leading man who has fallen into the role of “King of Christmas” in order to support his family. Chase is the tightly wound “Ice Queen” who wants to bring holiday magic to others, even if she doesn’t feel the magic herself anymore. Their chemistry is electric from the first time they interact. Their banter is razor sharp and kept me highly entertained throughout the entire book. And the spice between these two will have you fanning yourself. When they finally give into the sparks between them, it’s absolutely delicious. But it’s not all humor, snark & spice, there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to these two. They have to learn to open up to each other and show parts of themselves that they usually keep hidden.

I got the opportunity to listen to this book and it was wildly hilarious! It is narrated by Audrey Obeyn and Luke Persiani, who do a fantastic job with not only Chase and Ethan but Ethan’s family (I loved the scenes with everyone and hearing the voice changes!)

Chase directs Christmas movies and Ethan is her leading actor. Forced to fake date they head to Florida for a holiday vacation with Ethan’s oddball family.

There’s a twin brother, his mom’s Etsy store, one bed and a pet alligator and plenty of shenanigans to round out this holiday visit.

This book had great tropes, fantastic banter with laugh out loud moments and an adorable family you want to join (sorry Chase, you’re out!). Bubbles the house trained alligator deserves all the smooches and cuddles! I just couldn’t stop reading beca I wanted to see what would happen next.

This a great change of pace holiday read with spice, laughs and a fabulous family vibe. I can’t wait to read more by the authors.

I love to be contacted by authors asking if I want to read their books 🩷 Unfortunately, my TBR is too full to say yes 😔 But when MèLisa DMed me, it was perfect timing. And the book sounded good, so I said yes. And I regret NOTHING!

This book is perfect. It has everything a book needs, at least for me 😁
Two characters who hate each other, which gives A LOT of banter. Crazy side characters (his family). And 🌶️...

Most of the time, the MMCs are the grumpy ones who hate Christmas. But this time it's Chase. And that's especially funny because she is a scriptwriter & movie director for Christmas movies 🙈 It all has a lot of Hallmark channel vibes 😁
She loves her job, but she hates Ethan. But the channel wants him as the MMC in all her movies.
Chase is a very strict and organized person. And Ethan is the complete opposite. He is funny. He loves chaos. And he loves to make Chase's life difficult 🤣 And he LOOOVES Christmas.

And now they end up in a fake relationship, during Christmas time. That's not enough, they will spend 10 days with his family in "F*cking Florida" (yes, Chase isn't a fan of Florida). A family that is, even more, Christmas-crazy than the Griswolds 🙈 Everything is extremely colorful and there are a lot of flamingos and alligators. And they are not all fake 😉

As I said, it's super funny. There are so many "accidents" of every kind. I just say "one bed" and "Jack and Jill bathroom with his twin brother" 🤣

But there is also his SUPER fan... Oh, this woman is really crazy. Not like his family crazy. REALLY crazy!

"Love ain't about being perfect, it's about being perfectly imperfect together" 🦩

I absolutely loved this book. You know how much I adore a fake dating trope so this one had big expectations to live up to — but it totally delivered! Ethan and Chase were everything I want in a good festive romance: banter, chemistry, emotional depth and plenty of holiday magic. Chase was such a strong, guarded character and watching her slowly let her walls down while Ethan’s warmth and patience melted her defences was just so satisfying.

Ethan’s family completely stole my heart — seriously, is there room to adopt me? Because I need them in my life! And Bubbles the house-trained gator?? Iconic. It added just the right amount of chaos and humour to balance the sweet romance and Christmas spirit.

Their happy ending was everything I hoped for and more — perfectly wrapped up like a Christmas present. Now I’m just over here begging for Nolan’s story next because I’m not ready to leave this world yet.

OK, when I first saw the sign up for this ALC, I was totally sold from the moment I read Emotional Support Alligator. It definitely did not disappoint, and I kind of want a pet Alligator now! 🐊

This was absolutely chaotic, and i was here for all of it. It will make you laugh out loud till you snort. It's so cheesy, but so brilliant! 🤌🏻 The Fish Scene had me DYING! IYKYK! 😂

The spice was at Carolina Reaper level HOT! One Bed... Need I say more? No? I didn't think so! ❤️‍🔥 I was so ecstatic when they finally gave into each other.

The narrators really nailed the characters, too. So convincing and well portrayed. Round of applause for the performance! 👏🏻

This was a cute story for prepare for the holidays with. An actor and a female director have to fake date to save their channels ratings and promote their upcoming movie.

Narration: Audrey Obeyn & Luke Persiani - I loved Audrey’s voice! Luke did great at making the MMC the most annoying man on earth.

This book would be great for readers who enjoy rom coms, holiday stories & in need of a palette cleanser.

The downfall for this story for me was the MMC - he is honestly the most annoying MMC I’ve ever listened to. I know it’s about character development and growth but this guy was non-redeemable. He made the book very cringy for me.

I cannot recommend MéLisa and Ryun’s books enough! Their books have a unique ability to make me laugh uncontrollably while reading them, and I always find myself wanting more. This book had great enemies-to-lovers banter, hilarious inner and outer dialogue, and spicy scenes that made your face hot. It also had all the will-they-won’t-they worries that make you want to know what happens in the last few chapters.

This one reminds me of The Proposal. Chase is the grump in this one, like Sandra Bullock’s character. She’s not a fan of the holiday season and focused solely on work and trying not to strangle her lead actor. All until they spend time with Ethan’s family.

It’s definitely a cute story, a hallmark movie with some spice for those of us that love that little bit extra.

The audio was a little challenging to listen to. The narrators attempted to differentiate between the characters and some of the accents left a bit to be desired.

I had the opportunity to hear this story and let me tell you what, MeLisa Ryun DO NOT DISAPPOINT!!! I fucking love everything they write, but an audio was just icing on and already iced cake.

First, emotional support alligator 🐊 are a must have pet!

Second, Christmas in Florida with the King of Christmas, required.

Third, fake dating, enemies to lovers, crazy fan base, feel of being loved, crazy family traditions, are also required!

This book is full of LOL moments 😂, spicy 🥵, emotional support alligators, fake dating and more. You won't be disappointed if you pick it up to read and slap on some head phones (highly recommend using if you are working and listening to books lol 😆) and listen to this holiday romance!!!

So freaking adorable!!! Like best Christmas themed RomCom I have listened/read in years!!! The amount of times I laughed out loud or re-listened to a part was to many to count! This is a must add to your Christmas TBR!

The audiobook was phenomenal and the narrators brought these characters to life. The side characters are so loveable, I cant wait to see if Nolan will get his own Christmas romance next year!

The Epilogues MADE MY DAY! ❤️❤️❤️

Oh...and this is a tad spicy but so worth it and relatable! 🤪❤️🤪😘

Ah! MeLisa Ryun are so funny! I absolutely love every one of their books! And this is a perfect Christmas story. The narration is great. I love Audrey Obeyn and Luke Persiani. They make these characters so real. Chase and Ethan are the ultimate enemies to lovers, full of antics and love, and everything you want in a holiday romcom.

And chapter 11...hilarious and made me cover my face all at once!

I absolutely loved listening to this!!! This was definitely an enemies to lovers, forced proximity and fake dating!!!! But the juicy twist just made me so happy!! I loved the setting, I might be biased as a Florida girly! This was cute, quirky, funny, spicy and just overall a great read!

This was adorable! FYI, if you are at work, expect to laugh or snort or whatever and accrue the looks that come with said reaction. Me’Lisa does an awesome job at poking fun at the typical romance arcs while also dishing up some great swoon worthy content. I got this as an advance listener copy but I’ll definitely be coming back for more.
