"The Soldier's Sweet Return" is a historical western romance novel of approximately 80,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
Lorelei Brogan was born and raised in Idaho where she currently lives with her husband.
While sitting in her graduate school apartment, studying Rock science, Lorelei decided to set aside her notes and try her hand at romance.
At the same time, she used to write articles for a local newspaper under a pseudonym, and this made her wonder if she could write something besides news -- about something she really loved. At the age of 40 she managed to make her dream come true.
She has a great family and 4 sons that she adores. She is extremely proud of them, and so are they. They really admire her work, and support her in every step of her life. Her oldest son, who deeply loves her, says Lorelei’s novels make him travel to a different world.
In her spare time, she loves cooking and volunteering at her local elderly care home. She also adores traveling with her husband. Their dream is to travel all over the world, with Asia being at the top of her “bucket list”.
Nice clean well written story with good characters. I did not care for how Cordelia 's father talked to the females in the family. Him and Thomas made me want to scream and slap them. Julian comes home so to speak from the dead so everyone is shocked. He knows what and who he wants. He's thinking he can't have the lady his heart wants because Cordelia is engaged to Thomas. Something just isn't right about the whole thing and her father's campaign for governor. Can Cordelia get out of the engagement and find out what is going on? Grab the book you will be glad you did.
Julian is back! From the dead? Oh my, how did such a mistake happen? Will his brother Chester ever forgive him for not contacting the family after the end of the war? Then there's Cordelia, beautiful Cordelia the girl who has grown into a beautiful woman, whom he has loved since childhood, who also happens to be engaged to a man she doesn't love. How is that even a possibility? What has her father done? How will she handle his being home? Read this great story by Lorelei Brogan to find out all of the answers to these questions and more. You won't be disappointed 👍
This was an interesting story about the soldier,Julian, who everyone thought he was dead. The military shipped home a body and was buried, thinking it was Julian. Julian was injured during the war and took some time healing. Everyone was so surprised when he did arrive home. Much more to this story. Julian he’d developed an interesting way for the farmers to set their gods to market, although there was evil at work in their town. Enjoy.
As it was back in the day, Cordelia's father wants to use her as a steppingstone to something better in business/politics. He contracts to marry her off to an awful man that will help him win governorship of Kansas. Meanwhile, the man Cordelia wanted, that had gone to war and was thought lost, reappears and is not quite dead yet! A lovely tale of grit and gumption. Well written.
An exciting story of how a person can be hoodwinked into evil just because they are to politically ambitious. Thank God for mom’s and Cordelia’s wisdom and Cordelia’s love coming home long after the war. Julian also loved Cordelia and through much trouble with the guy her father chose for her, they found he was a crook. Exciting story.
This is the story of a young soldier returning from the war and the girl he left behind and their struggles to get together and live their lives as they saw fit. Not to become embroiled in the troubles of some who wanted to change how the state of Kansas was run . This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
I really enjoyed reading this story and seeing Cordelia and Julian come back together, especially seeing as everyone thought he died in the war. This really is a very good story, full of action and intrigue. I really enjoyed reading this story.
