Eugene T. Gendlin is an American philosopher and psychotherapist who developed ways of thinking about and working with living process, the bodily felt sense and the 'philosophy of the implicit'. Gendlin received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Chicago where he also taught for many years. He is best known for Focusing and for Thinking at the Edge, two procedures for thinking with more than patterns and concepts.

El libro que explica a la perfección el proceso de simbolización de lo pre-simbólico, necesario en estos tiempos que corren para no simbolizar desde el propio mundo simbólico ya formado. En otras palabras, es el libro y método perfecto para quién quiera explorar su interior y comprender sus emociones. Su autor inspiró profundamente a posteriores autores como John Welwood o Leslie Greenberg. Una maravilla de libro en definitiva y muy fácil de leer.
