Magic runs through Dr. Arienne Cerasola's veins. As an archaeologist, she can't explain to people that sometimes she just feels the magic in a location or an object - they'd laugh her out of the profession for that. In this short story (approximately 7,900 words) she discovers some curious writing on the stones in an Irish Cathedral and she can't resist the urge to investigate. Her boss - the arrogant archaeologist Dr. Stanley Ash doesn't approve- as far as he's concerned, the writing is nothing more than indecipherable scratches. When Arienne decides to investigate, she learns that it's not always wise to read some messages aloud.
I'm an indie with a passion for writing fantasy that takes my readers on a fun journey where they can meet interesting characters and learn a little about legends and myths. I've been writing for years now, but only jumped into the world of self-publishing when I knew I had created a world that would be light, entertaining and fun. There's enough stress and strife in this world - I want to take my readers on a journey that will always end someplace good. I write fun fiction with smart dialogue about interesting characters.
It's nice when an author comes out with a prequel. Knowing more of the back story is always helpful, and learning what it was that led to Ari's situation in book 1 answered my questions.
