From the very first pages, this book pulled me into a richly imagined world of prophecy, political intrigue, and forbidden romance. The premise is immediately compelling, a protagonist who finds herself caught in ancient prophecies and dangerous power dynamics, forced to navigate a treacherous court alongside a mysterious dragon prince.
What struck me most was the atmospheric writing. The author creates a palpable sense of dread and anticipation, establishing high stakes from the beginning. Hazel's journey from seeking refuge to becoming entangled in the fate of kingdoms is the kind of character arc I live for in fantasy fiction.

The worldbuilding hints at complex political structures, dark magic systems, and a crumbling empire, all of which promise rich storytelling ahead. The relationship dynamics between Hazel and Atticus seem deliciously complicated, I'm always here for morally ambiguous love interests with "devastating charm and darker appetites."
If you enjoy fantasy with strong romantic elements, prophetic destinies, and protagonists who must decide whether to save or destroy kingdoms, this book deserves a spot on your TBR pile. I'm excited to see how the story unfolds! Highly recommended
