When one of those costs grew too heavy to bear, she changed her name and left DC, vowing to never get involved in politics again. But when her father becomes his party's lone voice standing against corrupt legislation, his enemies will do whatever it takes to get his vote, and Josie finds herself caught in a familiar web of malicious tactics.
Thomas Windham never planned to run for office, but when Coventry's disgraced mayor is replaced by a dishonest appointee, Thomas can't stand to see his town torn apart by corruption. He feels he has no choice but to throw his hat in the ring. He doesn't have a chance in the mayoral race against the well-known politician, that is until he meets Josie, who knows more about running for office than a typical café owner would.
When Josie is threatened by two masked men, she and Thomas form an alliance-her wisdom for his protection. The election becomes secondary as Josie's adversaries escalate their attacks. How can she and Thomas withstand enemies determined to get what they want at any cost?
Don't miss this pulse-pounding Christian romantic suspense that'll keep you reading late into the night.

4.5 stars for this latest romantic suspense novel by Robin Patchen! This is the 7th book in the Coventry Saga, but the story itself can stand alone. If you've read the other books in the series, you'll see some familiar faces in this one. Josie has been in the background of several others and Thomas in at least one or two of the previous books. Both of them get their story in this book. As I absolutely loathe politics, this was not my favorite book of the author's, but in a world rampant with politicism, this was a poignant novel and went to show both how far one will go to meet their ambitions, and also the depth of the grace of God to cover even our darkest of sins. As the daughter of a controversial senator, Josie finds herself in danger after an attempt is made on her father's life. Thomas happened to be near at the time of the danger and took protective measures to keep her safe. As they go through dangers together, they come to care for each other, but there are a lot of complications to get through.

This book hit the ground running almost from the get-go. There was a great deal of mystery, suspense and of course the romance - though there was a bit of a triangle going for a little bit, which put an interesting twist on this one. The faith thread was solid as the characters sought God's help, prayed for each other, and learned a bit about grace and forgiveness throughout the story. There was a lot of action, and this was one of those stories where I suspected literally everyone before all was said and done. This one had me turning pages and I did enjoy the story line even if I didn't enjoy the politicizing in this one. Trigger warning: Because this delves into the world of politics, there are definitely some polarizing issues referenced and moral stances taken, most notably on the issue of abortion. Outside of that, this was a wonderful romantic suspense novel that kept me guessing how it was going to end!

Special thanks to the author for an advance e-copy of this book. I was under no obligation to provide a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.

Great to be back in Coventry!

I loved the political thread in Lineage of Corruption. As a Senator's daughter and former political strategist, Josie understands the ugly underbelly of politics. She fled Washington DC to start over in Coventry after making a decision that went over the line. Josie wants nothing to do with politics.

However...she keeps crossing paths with Thomas who is running for mayor of Coventry.

Lots of action and plenty of speculation about who could be the villain. Another page turner by the talented Robin Patchen.

My gratitude to the author for a complimentary e-copy of the novel. I was not required to post a review and all opinions expressed are my own.

Welcome back to Coventry, a lovely small town, with mountains and even a lake close by. Most everyone knows everyone, so it hasn’t been easy for Josie, a late comer, to make many friends other than through her coffee shop, Cuppa Josie’s. Basically an unknown, why does the excitement all center around her all of a sudden? She knows she is forgiven and a new creation in Christ, but consequences still must be reckoned with. What is in her past that puts a target on her back?

The author gives us little updates of what is happening with some of the others we know in Coventry, but this story stands alone. As the daughter of a senator with a highly sensitive vote coming up, Josie is glad no one knows her background - or so she thinks. Lots of action, shots fired, protection gone wrong and more will keep you guessing right up til the end.

An early copy of this 7th book in the Coventry Saga was received through JDO Publishing and BookFunnel. These impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.

When Josie hears she's in danger she doesn't take it seriously because she has been out of politics a while. But when she is confronted outside her coffee shop late one night, she begins to believe it. Fortunately she was rescued by Thomas, a customer at her shop who has asked her out repeatedly. Fortunately he was working late at his insurance office when he heard Jose scream. Can Thomas save Josie before it's too late? Things become more complicated when they realize it could be an inside job. Who has turned against Josie? Read this book to find out. Even though I was given a copy of this book by the author, it in no way influenced my opinion and this is my honest review.

I really enjoy Christian Romance Suspense and I also LOVE reading books by "new to me" authors. Lineage of Corruption by Robin Patchen fits both of those for me and the Synopsis was intriguing, therefore I decided to read it!

Josie Smith is the owner of a Coffee Shop in small town Coventry. Josie used to be in Politics but moved from Washington DC, changing her name, as she was tired of the corruption in Politics and felt she wasn't serving her constituents as well as she should. Josie is in danger when people figure out that she is the Daughter of a Powerful Senator. Thomas Windham is a local Insurance Rep in Coventry. Thomas and Josie have met previously, but they really didn't get to know each other, until the night Thomas helps rescue Josie from 2 masked men who have approached her. Thomas is one who is into politics but he decides to run for Mayor of Coventry when the current mayor is replaced with someone who has ties to the Scandal plagued Mayor. Josie agrees to help Thomas with his political Aspirations in hopes that her political background will help him become Mayor of Coventry. Josie and Thomas continue to be in danger from the enemies who have been harassing her. Will Thomas win his election and become Mayor of Coventry? Will they escape the dangers of the enemies? Will there be a Romance between Thomas and Josie?

WOW, this book is VERY Suspenseful, a definite page-turner. I was hooked by the first few pages and didn't put it down until I finished. The 2 main characters, Josie and Thomas, are great characters, I LOVE how Josie is determined to make herself a new life in a small town, going as far as changing her name. I was sad for her when the "enemies" found her and started harassing her. Thomas is an outstanding man and character. I love how he sees the corruption and wants to do the right thing and run for Mayor to get rid of corruption. Thomas also is a praying man and prays with Josie as he protects her from the enemies. The book is filled with Christian references and faith, much more than I anticipated and I LOVE that. If you like lots of Suspense. Romance in a Christian book, I HIGHLY recommend this book. Lineage of Corruption is Book 7 in the Coventry series, but it reads great as a Stand Alone! GREAT BOOK!

This is the only book I have read in this series and I have to say I didn’t feel lost at all. Only more interested in the other books.

This was a very good book. I really wasn’t sure who was behind everything until it was revealed. Robin did a great job of keeping the reader guessing.

I also appreciated the strong faith element and the fact that the author didn’t shy away from a hot political topic that many authors would never touch. The struggle the characters faced in staying strong or compromising their values was very relatable and unfortunately I think many Christian do compromise their values when it become too hard to stay strong.

Overall, an excellent romantic suspense.

A copy of this book was given to me through Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the Coventry Saga Series, and this book was no exception. Josie was someone I had gotten to know in the previous books and I wanted to know more about her, and this book was perfect! It started out with adventure and that carried throughout until the end. I loved Thomas’ character and also Josie’s friends from the past. I couldn’t figure out the mystery but when it all was revealed, I could see the little clues the author left for us to pick up on. I loved the rescue scene and how she wrote it. Amazing. I can’t wait for the next one in this series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book but was under no obligation to review it. All opinions are mine.

What a great story! I started it and wasn’t sure with all the politics if I would like it. But I kept reading. I hate to be cliche but WOW! I love a good mystery where you don’t know who the bad guys are. Maybe this one…..maybe someone else. Then you finish and found out you had no idea.

This has been a very eye opening look into the political world where deceit, threats and power play a role in this intriguing story. I’m sure we have all heard talks about how corrupt the government can be. In this story we have several characters trying to prove that there are honest people within the government. When they stand up for their beliefs they find themselves in danger and open the door for evil to walk in.

What I found interesting was the scripture “the love of money id the root of all evil,” play out in this intense drama. Power for some can lead to big egos that crave more power and more money in order to feel good about themselves. Several months ago the issue that is being addressed in a bill in the story would be very vital. However as we know the much argued case of abortion has seen a change that has caused riots, friends turn into enemies and a division in this country. I still think this story is very important because it shows that a senator is steadfast in his faith and will not bow to the enemies threats.

At the front of the crisis is the senator’s daughter who has tried to lead a very private life . Somehow her identity is revealed and it sets the stage for Josie to need bodyguards to keep her safe. The continuous danger she is in gives readers a high octane edge of your seat writing experience. The author lets us get to know Josie better as she shares her strong faith and opens her heart to someone who I really came to trust. Thomas has his hands full running for office and protecting Josie from harm.

I loved the friend/love scenario between Josie and Thomas. I think because Josie is still being pursued by her ex fiancé it causes her to hold her feelings back for Thomas. I was beginning to wonder if one of Josie’s friends may be involved with the group that was trying to sabotage the senator and Josie. The author cleverly leaves a trail of hints but I just couldn’t be quite sure I knew who it was. The intense action is good and brings the story to a new level of suspense.

As the pressure mounts as to what the senator decides to do, Josie and Thomas place their trust in God and try to get ahead of someone who is willing to release photos that could damage their lives. I kept thinking that God was in control now and He will expose the enemy and use what was meant for bad God will use for good. The ending exposes the desperate measures people take to gain power. They are willing to kill, destroy lives and threaten others who try to stop them. Get ready for a heart pounding ending that will leave you shaking.

As I close out my review I have to recognize a man who although was in the background, was a true hero in my eyes. Donley is assigned to watch over Josie and he did it with integrity and intelligence. I admired how he was willing to put his life on the line for others. His instincts were good and I am thrilled to know that he will be featured in a upcoming book from this talented author.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly … right out of today’s headlines

This book needs to be made into a movie. It’s perfect for today’s society. Full of action, deceit, betrayal, it’s a real ‘Who Done It’ … and very realistic and believable.

As said in the book: “Evil begat evil. Hate begat hate. Lies begat Lies. And that is just what is happening as you read and ingest the pages. No skimming or flipping pages here, it keeps your attention line by line.

This is one of the best books I’ve read. The major theme is corruption… in the halls of Congress, but much more. It dips into how the games are played and how heavy handed influence alongside powerful hands controlling money can sway votes and endanger lives. It does this in such a way that draws you into the story. You feel like you are really there watching everything go down.

The characters are well developed… there are good guys/bad guys, friends that make you question and wonder, family that’s put to the test, acquaintances whose loyalties are questionable. There’s romance, real and not so real. In other words, is it true love or deceitful, duplicitous love? It’s all there for you to figure out as you turn the pages. And there’s humor. I found myself giggling more than once. And last but not least, faith plays a BIG role here. There are life and death situations. Josie and Thomas both are believers and put their reliance in G_d, knowing they would be 'free' one way or the other.

If you’re like me, I love to try to guess just who the bad guy is or who the bad guys are. Follow the clues.🔍

💕QUOTES I LOVED …

✒︎ “There are those who believe in Jesus and those who don’t. As Mom would say, ‘seed of Adam and seed of Christ.’ And whichever race a person belongs to, God loves him just the same. So those seed-of-Adam folks are only in that race because they don’t yet understand Jesus’s sacrifice.”

✒︎ “As soon as he could see, he yanked his hand from behind his back and punched his captor in his most sensitive spot. This wasn’t a man who should reproduce anyway.” (Talk about laughing, that one had me giggling. It was so apropos.)

✒︎ “Still, evil begat evil. Hate begat hate. Lies begat lies. It was time for a reckoning.”

I was given an advance copy of this book and am freely leaving my personal thoughts and opinions in this review.

If you like Christian romantic suspense that ironically mirrors today's current events, check out Lineage of Corruption by USA Today Bestselling Author Robin Patchen. This was the first book I read by Robin; truthfully, at 400+ pages, I wasn't sure I wanted to try it. I typically stick to books around 250-300 pages; however, I am glad I did because it was a page-turner. I quickly discovered the page count didn't matter because I got sucked into the story. This book is true to the suspense genre. You won't want to put the book down.

Josie Smith, the daughter of a powerful U.S. Senator, walks away from her life as a political strategist in D.C. to live a low-key life in the small town of Coventry. There Josie opens a coffee shop where she seeks to find her true self again.

Thomas Windham is a small-town insurance agent who finds himself running for office to save his town from a dishonest local politician. Thomas knows absolutely nothing about politics.

The story gets interesting when the Senator, Josie's father, becomes his party's lone voice standing against corrupt policies; his enemies will do whatever it takes to get his vote, even going after his family. Josie, now in danger, rethinks her decision to help Thomas. Perhaps, an alliance would be beneficial. Thomas' protection for her political wisdom. A partnership is formed, and the story goes into full suspense mode from that point forward.

Outside of the romance and suspense, I appreciated the Christian references sprinkled throughout. The elements of forgiveness, trust, and love are evident in the book, as are the topics of God's truth, faith, guidance, healing, and restoration.

Overall, I found the book to be an excellent read and plan on reading more books by Robin Patchen. I give Lineage of Corruption 5 out of 5 stars.

Note: I reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, which I received through Celebrate Lit. I was not required to write a positive review, nor was I compensated for sharing my thoughts.

Lineage of Corruption by Robin Patchen. This is the 7th book in the Coventry Saga and is considered a stand alone. Robin Patchen always does a amazing job with her book and this one is definitely one I would highly recommend. It gets a little bit into politics, but I didn’t feel like it was over the top. Warning it does touch on abortion, but again I didn’t feel it was to inappropriate. As always, it’s so nice to run into other characters from the Coventry Saga books. I really enjoyed getting to read Josie’s Story. She’s been in the background of a few of the previous Coventry Saga books. I believe Thomas has been in at least one Coventry Saga books so it’s nice to read Thomas’s story.
Josie keeps to herself as she runs the local coffee shop. Thomas is a local and owns an insurance company in town. Thomas unlike Josie knows just about everyone in Coventry and takes the time to talk to the towns people. Josie and Thomas’s paths have crossed, but nothing more…until one night Thomas is working late and jumps in to help Josie as she is confronted by two mask man. Thomas and Josie form an alliance together. She helps him in his quest to run for mayor and he agrees to help keep her safe. Josie isn’t crazy about getting back to the life of politics, but she made a deal and she's not going back on her word. Thomas who knows nothing about politics is great full to have the help. Josie and Thomas end up on an adventure of a lifetime. They both have secrets from their past that have changed them both. With that said this book will definitely keep you guessing with its action pack, mystery and suspense. I love how Thomas prays for Josie openly. I really loved how Josie gets surrounded by the towns people as she realizes how much she misses the sense of community. Happy Reading!

Robin Patchen takes us once again to small town Coventry, New Hampshire. We meet up again with Josie Smith, owner of the local coffee shop, and Thomas Windham whose insurance office is conveniently next door. Josie comes from a political family, has run with that crowd but has decided it’s not for her. She keeps the secret of who her father is, a powerful senator who stands against the corrupt legislative machine, when she moves to Coventry. Josie loves life in her new town, but she soon finds turmoil and evil has followed her.
Thomas never had political aspirations, but loves his hometown enough to run for mayor against the incumbent who follows in the footsteps of the previous mayor who was caught in a scandal. Thomas is intrigued by Josie’s aloofness and her multiple refusals to go on just one date with him. But one night Josie is menaced by two masked men; Thomas hears the commotion and rushes to defend her and an alliance is born.
Enter Josie’s former fiancé who is on her father’s staff, realizes Josie is in danger because of her father’s refusal to vote the status quo on an upcoming very controversial bill. Evil finds a foothold, game players are murdered and Josie and Thomas find their very lives at stake as they fight for truth and discover strong feelings for each other.
This story could be pulled from newspaper headlines in our current culture. Share the convictions, the romance, the honesty as you read this powerful and well written story.

Lineage of Corruption is written by Robin Patchen. It’s part of the Coventry Saga series. While this is a series, you can read them as stand alone stories. I have read most of the books in the series and this one was most definitely my favorite. The author always takes on some tough subjects but always writes God’s love and forgiveness into them. This book does mention pre-marital intimacy and talks about abortion however, the author turns this around and reminds us what God says.

Josie Smith has moved to Coventry and wants to forget her true last name and her connection to politics. She’s grown up in a political family and wants to separate and make a name for herself that isn’t one of politics. She buys a business and loves amoungst the locals.

Thomas Windham loves Coventry and everything that the small town encompasses. He didn’t want to run for mayor. However the interim mayor doesn’t have Coventry best interest at heart. He’s a local business owner and all around good guy.

Josie’s dad is trying not to cave to political pressure. Suddenly someone starts to threaten Josie. He hires a lot of muscle to keep her safe. Thomas along with Josie’s friend and ex fiancé assists with keeping an eye on her. Suddenly everyone is a suspect. I could not believe all the action that was in this story. I honestly did not figure it out until it was revealed.

I learned a lot about politics through this book. The author did a great job in capturing the dark side of politics. This was my favorite book of the series. Thank You to the author, publisher and Celebrate Lit for allowing me to read a copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

Politics. Many ticks. Love in the mix.

Ms Patch tackled a hot topic this time. Good for her! Every once in awhile whether by choice or by chance, an author will write about subject that nearly everyone is talking about. But putting the legislative issue aside, the deeper issue of backroom political bargaining, excessive pressure, and downright corruption seems to always be front and center in our conversations these days. Even nice, quiet towns like Coventry are affected, whether by local or even national politics. Ms Patch did an excellent job of laying it all out as a fascinating Christian suspense yarn.

We finally get to know the proprietor of the local coffee shop, Cup of Josie (Josie Smith (aka Harrington). Turns out she is a Senator's daughter escaping from the too nasty political tactics of Washington, D.C. Enter another personality we've met before in this series, Thomas Windham. He's a part time Search and Rescue volunteer who rescues the injured Josie while she is hiking with her ex-fiance Bentley Kent. Good ole Bentley comes across as a first class jerk, and adds some of the spice to the story. The other main character is Josie's best friend, Shelly. It is so much fun watching these folks interact. Of course Thomas an Josie begin to fall for each other as Thomas hangs out to protect Josie from threats against her. As you might expect, this generates a rivalry between Bentley and Thomas.

"Lineage of Corruption" is a very well done mystery with lots of action, plot twists, and a well concealed nemesis. Whether politics is your interest or not, lovers of suspense will be captivated by this excellently crafted book.

Clean romance and thrilling suspense!

Josie Smith came to Coventry to escape and have a new life; a life away from the power and corruption of politics. Now, she is the happy owner of a coffee shop but her past life finds her. When Bentley, her ex-fiancee, arrives in town to re-kindle their relationship, Josie is emotionally torn. It is difficult to refuse his stubborn insistence. A sunset hike with him ends in a sprained ankle and the Search and Rescue responder is a customer of her shop that she has repeatedly refused when he asked her for a date.

Thomas Windham has been attracted to Josie since the first time he saw her. As the daughter of a U.S. Senator, Josie’s experience in politics has soured her on politicians and once she discovers that Thomas is running for mayor there is no way she would want to go out with him. Her repeated refusals to his invitations are frustrating but at the very least he would like to be a friend. As Josie gets to know him she realizes that her opinion may have been wrong but there is still Bentley to consider.

Her past life comes to Coventry in a big way when a dividing issue is coming to a vote in the Senate and powerful forces look for ways to influence her father’s vote and realize his daughter would be an excellent target to force his vote in their favor. Josie will have to decide who to trust and which man to love.

Robin Patchen has delivered another well-written story of romance and faith wrapped around a good crime mystery. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

I loved this book! I’ve read this whole series and it’s amazing! While you can read each book as a stand alone they do read better as a series. You get introduced to characters throughout the series that you see again in each book though they are the secondary characters then. It’s nice to watch their lives unfold more too.

Thomas didn’t ever really think about being a politician. But he wants what’s best for his town and it’s definitely not what the current mayor is planning. So he decides to run for mayor.

Josie has spent way too much time working in politics and now she’s done. She’s never going back. Until she agrees to help Thomas and he decides to help protect her.

What follows is quite the tale of suspense and romance. Oh and add in betrayal. Plus too many suspects.

I loved it! It took me about half the book before I realized who the bad guy had to be. And trust me, you’re going to be shocked at the end, even if you knew who it had to be.

Five stars and go get your copy. Let me know what you think!

Coventry, New Hampshire sounds like a wonderful place to live, work, and play. Well, at least most of the time, like when lives aren’t being threatened and people aren’t getting hurt. Josie has lived peacefully in Coventry for several years after changing her identity and moving to get away from Washington, DC, where she had worked for her father, a powerful senator. Things had gone off the rails and she knew she had to get out of politics. She should have been totally safe, but the wrong person found out where she was and suddenly Coventry had way too much of the wrong kind of excitement going on. The questions of who to trust and what to do next swirled almost as fast as the action. Regardless of how you feel about politics, I believe you will love this story with so much suspense, romance, and the faith of several key characters. Maybe they all had faith, but some placed their faith in politics, money, and hedonism rather than in a loving God. My favorite character was Thomas, the owner of the local insurance agency, who was always ready to help anyone and was especially attracted to Josie. I received an advance copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

After breaking up with her fiance and becoming disillusioned with the political arena, former political strategist and daughter of a prominent senator, Josie Smith, has adopted a different name and is now the owner of a coffee shop in small town New Hampshire. But the past has a way of coming to the forefront, and when her enemies want to force her father to vote against his own principles, what better way to do it than to intimidate and threaten those nearest him. Josie knows all too well how it works. Thomas Wyndham is her business neighbor and has wanted to date her for some time, but she fears his reaction when the truth comes out about an incident in her past. In the meantime, Thomas is running for mayor of his small town, and Josie finally consents to help him, but the threats and actions against her are escalating, and someone is betraying her. Will she and Thomas and their budding relationship survive the turbulent storm that is brewing and will her father be able to stand by his principles in spite of everything that is happening?

This is an extremely fascinating book which I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend. It provided me with a great deal of insight into the political realm. I received an ARC; the opinions expressed are strictly my own.

Patchen gives readers a deep dive into the dangerous world of political influence in this romantic suspense. It reveals how family members of prominent politicians might suffer because of the pressure applied for desired outcomes on votes. Power and money are coveted in the political realm and some will go to great lengths to acquire it.

The plot flows at a consistent pace although I did feel it was a bit repetitive. There are many suspects as to who is messing with Josie in an attempt to force her father on a senate vote. The issue on the vote is public financing of abortion clinics. While it is a moot point after the recent Supreme Court decision, it really points out the pressure politicians experience. We also see how conniving people can be, setting up false scenes or manipulating photo images. It reminded me to always be aware of political news and possible manipulation of the facts.

The romance is done well and there is a good faith message. Patchen's writing style is good and easy to follow. She has provided readers with another entertaining and thought provoking novel. It is part of a series but reads very well on its own.

I received a complimentary digital copy of this book through Celebrate Lit. My comments are an independent and honest review.

"I don't date politicians."

Search and Rescue volunteer Thomas Windham was already labeling himself a "glutton for punishment"; having been turned down nineteen times (yes, that is a lot of times) by Josie Smith didn't mean he wasn't going to try again, after all the woman was plastered to his chest while he carried (yes carried!) her down the mountain after a nasty ankle sprain. What were the chances that he would hit twenty? But before they could completely hash it out, Josie's not-fiance-anymore-friend gets a frightening call, and Thomas quickly realizes that Josie is not exactly who everyone in Coventry thinks that she is. Her life, and by association his, is about to get a whole lot more dangerous. . . . but interestingly enough, she agrees to advise him on his run for local mayor in the meantime. . . but, at what cost?

A classic romantic suspense with a myriad of interesting characters and a behind-the-scenes reminder of just how nasty the game of politics can turn. "Because it was very possible one of the people closest to Josie was working against her."

"God was all about grace. Jesus had been sent not to save the well but save the sick. . . . . to redeem the lost. . . . She'd been lost, and God had drawn her back to Himself. He loved her . . " Grace upon grace; God's merciful grace can even provide resolution over a "lineage of corruption".

Ms. Patchen writes books straight from the heart. This book is no exception, my eyes filled with tears as I felt God's presence over some of the scenes. A subject that is probably difficult for a lot Christians including myself is dealt with in such a beautiful way that I wonder if the author has had to learn this lesson also. As we read this book we get to meet a new resident to Coventry and learn a lot about the reality of what goes on in the background of politics, including the senate. There is suspense and mystery that will keep you guessing to the end to find out who is behind all the awful things that keep happening to Josie, the owner of the new cafe, that is also hiding her true identity. Coventry has a small town vibe but as Thomas runs for mayor you see all the big city problems. But the friends he has there are wonderful, the kind we all want. Don't miss this next book in the Coventry series it is awesome!
I received a free download of this book from the publisher. This review is totally my own honest opinion.

Lineage of Corruption is the next in the Coventry series by Robin Patchen - and I think it might just be my favorite! As always, the writing is excellent, the plot exciting and the romance just enough. However, in this story there is more - there is a touch of humor, enough to really give the characters a 'real life' feel, like people we'd hang with. And there is also the very important subject, the cause of the conflict - a Congressional bill on the line, and the father of our heroine holding to his principles to cast what for many is an unpopular vote. So unpopular that the 'bad guys' are will to go to any length to get him to change his mind...including threatening and even harming his daughter! You've read the description so you know some basics, and I don't so spoilers, so you'll have to read this book to find out what that issue is, and if his daughter and her new 'friend' make it through. And yes...start reading early, because you won't want to put this one down!

I'm thoroughly enjoying the Coventry Saga series. Lineage of Corruption tells an interesting tale of political corruption and adds a romantic twist. Josie and Thomas meet when Thomas comes to her defense when she is accosted by 2 masked strangers. She can escape these men this time, but will more danger come her way? And who's behind it all? Josie has escaped D.C., changed her name and now runs the local coffee shop. Can she continue to live away from her famous senator father's limelight, or has she been found out? Who can she trust? Thomas has decided to run for mayor since the previous mayor's corruption was discovered. But he's clueless about running for political office. Josie agrees to help Thomas with his political campaign, and he agrees to help protect Josie. Plenty of twists and turns and political espionage abound. I highly recommend this riveting story--as well as this entire series!

It was great to have free access to this 7th of the Coventry Saga series as an ARC reader for Robin Patchen, instead of having to wait for it to show up on Kindle Unlimited. As I read it, my only real problem was that it was interrupting my sleep and duties, as I kept wanting to read at least a few more pages. I like that the books in this series aren’t dependent on one another, but each complete in itself-no cliffhangers at the end. For the romantic interaction in this book, a former political team member escapes the city after having reached her limit of underhanded schemes and tries to put her past behind her. The little café that she now owns, though, is visited by a handsome guy who is taken with her and keeps asking for a date. Will they get together, or will her past come crashing down between them? Even if you suspect the romantic ending, don’t miss the suspense, romance and humor of what goes into this story!

Lineage of corruption

I’m always excited when the newest Robin Patchen book comes out and so happy to get a chance to read an ARC copy from bookfunnel! Josie and Thomas’s story captured me from the first page. Torn between a previous love & getting to know Thomas, Josie has a lot to take in while dealing with the political intrigues of her past life. The hope and honesty that Thomas represents is breathtaking.

I love coming back to Coventry and the fact that while you see peeks of everyone from the previous books, it still works as a stand alone. Bentley is a guy I could see in another story and I’m really looking forward to the next book which brings back Donley and another supporting character from the Saga. This series has some great characters and I just wish they were real and I had a tight reliable friend group like that! The mix of the relationships and the tension of the mystery or suspense makes for great storytelling. Highly recommend this one!

Lineage of Corruption is the seventh installment from Robin Patchen’s Coventry Saga. Even though it is part of a saga, each one can be read as a stand alone. I have read a few other books from this saga and enjoyed every single but this one is by far my favorite to date. It was full of danger, adventure, suspense and mystery. It was not one that I could easily predict and had to keep reading until I was completely done reading it to see how it would all play out. I loved it.

Lineage of Corruption is getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. I believe readers who enjoy reading clean romantic suspense will definitely want to pick this one up, as well as, others from the Coventry Saga. I will be looking forward to reading more books by Robin Patchen

I received a digital copy of Lineage of Corruption from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Lineage of Corruption is another great addition to Robin Patchen’s Coventry Saga.
Thomas is feeling unsettled as all of his friends have one by one found the loves of their lives. When he’s called to help the one woman who keeps rejecting him, he can’t help but wonder if she will ever see him as more than the customer who keeps asking her out.
Josie is attracted to Thomas, the handsome customer who keeps asking her out. The problem is, she’s a senator’s daughter trying to live a quiet life away from the cutthroat world of politics. She doesn’t want to be recognized, but is she safe?
Robin ramps up the suspense with twists you didn’t see coming, romance that begs for that first kiss, and characters who come to life on the page. I read it in one day. It was that good.
I was given a copy courtesy of the author. This is my honest opinion.

Line of Corruption b y Robin Patchen, is the seventh book in the Coventry Saga series. Even though the story brings back some character from previous stories, this also makes a great stand alone story. This is a well written story that contains mystery, suspense and romance. I especially enjoyed the dedication Josie's parents have towards her and her safety and the care Thomas gives to keep her safe. This story focuses on the corruption that takes place within government and how far some people will go to get what they want. I appreciated how far Josie would go to live her own life without her family connections and the hard work she put into her coffee shop. This is a great Christian romantic suspense that starts off running and doesn't let up to the end.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.

Lineage of Corruption

Josie and Thomas have an absolutely wonderful story of faith based suspense with themes of political overtones. Josie has lived in Coventry several years but she carries a secret she would like to keep hidden from her new home. She is the daughter of a Senator and had worked for her father in the political arena before hanging up her hat to open her coffee shop. Thomas doesn’t want to be the mayor of Coventry but he doesn’t want the corruption of the office to continue and he wants only the best for the community he has grown up in and where he now has his business. When Josie finds herself in danger, Thomas steps in to help protect her so she in turn helps him with his mayoral campaign. I suggest you read the book for more on their relationship while trying to stay alive.
