This story is more like a draft copy which needs work before publication. Basic mistakes complicate the flow and understanding of what it happening and who to. The narrator is also problematic - some times speaking so fast and running sentences into each other, breaking in the wrong places and not taking pauses between different characters taking over the activity. There are editing issues as well - chapter 10 had some overlapping sentences so 2 parts of the story being read at the same time - neither able to be understood. These errors made this story weaker than it could be. The potential is there.
I think this is probably the hardest review I had to write in a long time. Narrator Clarence Carter Boucher did a good job. The book itself was decent. I personally am pretty sensitive to sounds/noises so it sounded like to me this was distant a little like it was far away or talking in a can. At about Chapter 10 there are two recordings on top of each other and it's probably and pivotal plot point that you are left wondering what you missed. After this I really enjoyed the fact that each chapter was announced who's point of view it is. I really wish the audio wasn't so problematic because I could give the book/narrator a fairer rating.
I enjoyed this story. It’s action packed and full of mystery and suspense The characters are well written. However, I'm going to have to read the book myself because the audio was awful. It sounded like the narrator was using a cassette tape recorder from the 1980s (yes, I know what those sound like because I still have one). There was also an overlapping of audio in one of the chapters. I feel like the narrator needs to read the book to familiarize themself with the words and story. All in all, I loved the story but did not like the narration.
As always be mindful of trigger warnings, what I like you may not.
I hate not finishing a book, but I could barely get through two chapters. The writing jumps around with no clear timeline, it was all over the place and immediately frustrated me because I couldn’t understand what was happening. It’s like it started into the middle of a chapter we had no clue about and then every few sentences jumped to another scene with no warning or description of events. Two chapters in and I already hated the MC, he was rude and judgmental immediately and then doubled down on his behavior. It was all too much for me to bother trying to finish it.
James Marlow was grieving after loosing Rita his ex- partner Annalise Jackson a brilliant detective is his new partner and they clash from the first day of work. But working together on a dangerous assignment they are drawn closer. A great read with a lot of suspense and action to make this an intriguing read. I received this ARC copy via Booksprouts and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers.
This is another amazing story from Daisy Grace. The suspense had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down until I finished it. Highly recommend reading this book and I look forward to reading more from Grace.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed the narration of Clarence Carter Boucher
The suspense had me on the edge of my seat. Jackson a detective has a new partner, who do not get on. While working together on a dangerous assignment they are drawn closer. We have suspense and action.
I either missed something or in the second to the last chapter Luis was dead and in the last chapter he was in jail. It was very confusing in the end. Need a better editor!
