With a target on her back and a stalker on her heels, safety proves to be a commodity no longer.
Leaving her home in Hawaii, Lahela Young moves to Texas to plan for a future with her boyfriend, but when he becomes her ex, she's left to grapple with every bad decision she's ever made. It's only made worse when someone begins sending her anonymous text messages and calling at all hours of the night. The stakes escalate and lead to accidents that put her newfound friends in danger, forcing Lahela to pull away for their safety.
Briggs Turner may have left his career as a police officer, but he still has the instinct to protect. The last thing he wants is for Lahela to push him and their friends away, leaving her isolated, vulnerable, and the target of someone with a twisted obsession for righting a wrong. Briggs is worried about Lahela's safety, but there are few clues to who might be behind the obsession, and when feelings are stirred up between them, he'll stop at nothing to keep her safe. With a balance of suspense, mystery, and romance, Natalie Walters composes a chilling novella incorporating small town, new girl in town, and faith themes.
My world revolves around GIJOE and our three adult (or almost adult) children who keep my life anything but predictable. Our boots hit the ground wherever the Army sends us but home is when we’re all together no matter the zipcode. My passion is writing stories where adventure meets love and share my belief that life rooted in purpose is a story worth telling.

ONCE AGAIN I HAVE BEEN TRICKED INTO READING FICTION WITH A RELIGIOUS AGENDA. IF THE AUTHOR IS SO PROUD OF HER CHRISTIANITY, WHY NOT SHOUT IT TO THE WORLD????? WHY HIDE IT??? TO SELL MORE BOOKS??????? Lahela is from Hawaii. Teaching seven and eight years old fulfills her live in every sense. Although she might be at the point that dating appears to be appealing once again.
In her eyes, nothing about her stands out but she keeps getting these annoying phone calls and texts from an unknown caller. She is at a point where Everytime her phone rings, she jumps.
Briggs is a former police officer with the Dallas P. D. He takes care of his father's ranch with his parents and the rest of the siblings.
Taking a fancy to Lahela, Briggs has started going out with their foursome at least once a week. It is at that restaurant that Daphne, her best friend spills the beans on her situation.
The author takes her readers on a thrilling journey where so many things happen that a situation that appears to be settled never is. I highly recommend this book and rate it 5 Stars.
This was my favorite out of the collection. It felt like the story flowed smoothly and there were not a lot of prior details that needed to be revealed. Briggs is such a good friend to Lehela and cares for her during her struggles with being stalked and attempted arson. It made me sad about who the stalker was, seemed that they didn’t have any friends or people that cared for them. The ending surprised me.
This book proves that you can't always trust those who seem to have your best interest at heart. The ending may or may not be a surprise, but it was to me. Things aren't always what they seem. You need to think outside the box to find what you need to know. The characters are likable and the plot moves along nicely.
Okay, technically I listened to this one in the Cornered novella series. But I'm not sure if I will get to listen to all of them and count the whole book as done this year or not. 😂
I liked this story. It opens up and new world while still being connected to the SNAP series. This focuses on Kekoa's sister. It's a nice light, non scary suspense romance.
Lahela moved to Texas with her boyfriend to plan for the future, but when he became her ex-boyfriend, she started to doubt her decisions. Additionally, she is receiving anonymous texts and phone calls at all hours of the night.
This was a cute, short novella that kept me guessing!
I loved getting to meet Kekoa's sister! So much fun! And I absolutely need a story for Daphne! Great suspense, great humor, great romance. Highly recommend everything of Natalie's.
