Walker Brothers #2

Bright Smile & London Eye

Two strangers. Two paths with unexpected turns. One chance meeting that changes everything.

Lexie

London was supposed to be the start to a new life, the city where I marry my fiancé, but then everything comes crashing down in an instant. Now I’m in a new city that doesn't feel like home, far from everything I’ve ever known. When a stranger collapses in front of my store, I step in to help. I had no idea that he’s a famous movie star, or that he just might be the key to mending my broken heart.

Jackson

Change has never been my strong suit, and lately, my life feels like a storm I can’t escape. Until Lexie. She’s my unexpected calm, the one who gives me a sense of normalcy. We become friends but in no time, she becomes the one thing I don’t want to lose.

But life doesn’t make it easy. Can our friendship turn more?

Bright Smile & London Eye is a low-angst friends to lovers story. While it is book 2 in the Walker Brothers series, it can be read as standalone, although the other books will provide further context and resolutions.

This was such a cute friends-to-lovers story! Jackson was the absolute sweetest. I loved that there was no third-act breakup, and they actually communicated instead of letting misunderstandings spiral. Lexie & Jackson were just perfect together!

Thank you to Hailey Frost for the ARC.

Plot 3.75/5
Characters 4.5/5
Ending 4.25/5
Interest 4.5/5

Overall 4.25/5

-As romance books usually goes, the plot is never hat highly rated just for the fact that it is heavily romance and character based rather than a set plot. And I do enjoy those types of books sometimes such as this one. The issue I had in the previous book was the fact that from the halfway point onward it was basically just smut, this book was better in that sense. I did feel that it felt a bit rushed at some times. Their meeting to then hanging out to the break up and just everything felt a bit rushed until halfway through.

-I still enjoy the celebrity aspect of these books, but add a baker and I was in love with the dynamic already. Lexie was such a cutesy and sweet character and Jackson was interesting but I wished that there a bit more development or details into his personality especially the dislike for change. It was mentioned every time his family was mentioned but other than that not really the I thought it would have been more prominent. Even when his routine changed with Lexie, or the director change.

-I really liked the very end where they finally go onto the London Eye. I mean it’s the title of the book and it did feel like Lexie always had an excuse not to go on it. The ending with Adam was a bit odd but I didn’t really mind it. I do wish we saw a bit more of the other brothers to know a little more what the next books would entail but I can’t wait to read them.

This was such a feel-good book — the kind where everything seems to fall apart, but because the main character has strong, supportive connections, she’s able to find her way back. I loved the underlying message: that life becomes so much easier when you have people who are there for you, who won’t let you go, who stand by you relentlessly. It’s not just about romance — it’s about having fulfilling relationships and true friendships that bring happiness.

The “moving for your fiancé” part was definitely a bold choice, but it worked for the story — and when it’s your fiancé, it doesn’t feel quite as risky as it might otherwise. But then the way her life blows up and her people are there for her through everything is heartwarming. I also loved how her friend made sure there was no unnecessary miscommunication between the two of them.

The pacing was just right — the ending didn’t feel rushed. This is the kind of book you can pick up when you want something cozy, predictable in the best way, and heartwarming. You see the connection building, you know what’s coming, and yet you still enjoy every moment of getting there.

A short read with deep emotion. A strangers to friends to lovers that will make you want to keep reading to watch them fall in love.

Jackson is an actor that is currently working London. He’s one of the Walker brothers that has a lot going on and is trying to just work through life. During a panic attack episode, he runs into Lexie, a baker who helps him through the attack. Since then, he can’t stop thinking about a certain little red head firecracker.

It’s a slow burn since both MCs have a lot they’re going through, but not that slow. I do wish I had more their romance. It was so raw and I loved it. Their little dates around London were so touristy, I felt like I was adventuring in London with them.

Honorable mention for Alan and Bailey because they were supporting characters that every gal needs in their lives.

Bright Smile and London Eye is a cute friends to lovers story!

We are getting more of the Walker brothers!! 🥰🥰🥰

Two strangers. Two paths with unexpected turns. One chance to start again....

Lexi thinks she has the perfect life. She moved to London to be with her fiancé Derek. They don't get to spend too much time together because they both work opposite hours, but when she does spend time with him, she's extremely happy. Unfortunately, Derek breaks her heart and is a total douche canoe!!

She starts hanging out with Jackson more. She helped him through a panic attack before the breakup with Derek. That is how they met.

They are both attracted to each other but want to keep it as friends for now. They do a bunch of sightseeing and get to know each other. It's a slow burn filled with lots of tension. I really enjoyed their story, and I loved the ending!! I can't wait for more!!

2.5 ☆ thank you to hailey for this arc!

this was not horrible, but also not the best either. it was pretty short, which made the story and characters lack a lot of depth. i thought the beginning was really cute, but we didn’t get a lot of specific moments with lexie and jackson in the beginning to really get invested in their little coffee mornings. the idea was there but the execution fell short. i also thought jackson’s problem with adam was not really talked about enough. his insomnia and desperate want to reconnect with his family and be seen should’ve been a bigger part of the story. instead we got more of lexie and her cheating ex, which is fine. all in all, quick read but not the best from hailey.

ARC REVIEW
🧡I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.🧡

Jackson and Lexie’s strangers to friends to lovers story was both sweet and full of emotion. The book being set in London brought a warmth feeling to the story. It wasn’t just a romance, but also their story tackled about healing and slowly trying to attain peace. While the romance of Jackson and Lexie burned slowly, the pacing of the book was actually fast paced. It’s less than 300 pages, but Jackson and Lexie still provided emotional, sweet, heartfelt, and warmth throughout the whole story. The only thing I wished for in this book is MORE scenes of Jackson and Lexie as a couple. The ending just felt rushed and abrupt.

This was a low angst romance that was a welcome interlude for me. I have been having trouble picking books to read that I can stick with and this book was short and sweet. But my issue with the book is that there were things that needed addressing in this book, especially with Jackson. His anxiety and his issues with family were just left unresolved and we weren't shown Lexie supporting him through it either. And do not get me started on the sudden explosive sexual chemistry that comes about in the last 15% of the book. While good I just felt it was shoe horned in. I liked that this book was short, but I would not have minded an extra 50 pages or so where some of these issues I had were addressed.

The way I devoured this book!
I love all of this authors work, this is one of my favorites, I’m obsessed.

𝘏𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘥𝘥𝘢𝘮𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴. 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘵, 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧.

Lexie omg my heart was hurting. A very relatable character, with that this book was on the more emotional side for me. But I loved the healing so much! She’s a strong, fierce character.

Jackson, ahhh swoon! He’s so sweet. He’s obsessed from the start. I just loved him.

"ʏᴏᴜ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ɴᴏ ɪᴅᴇᴀ ᴡʜᴀᴛ ʏᴏᴜ ᴅᴏ ᴛᴏ ᴍᴇ, ʙᴇᴀᴜᴛɪꜰᴜʟ."

Both of them together was perfect. This was a very sweet read, I recommend so much!

It was great being back with the walker brothers again. We are following Jackson, the second oldest brother and actor and Lexie, a baker who moved to town to be with her fiance. The pair have a chance meeting when Jackson is having a panic attack and she helps him. He has become instantly interested but is ok being friends as she is off limits, then she finds out she’s being cheated on. They become fast friends and enjoy being with each other. They have a great connection and I enjoy how their relationship builds. And can’t forget about Bailey, he is great best friend material, always having her back no matter what. I can’t wait to read the next brother's book.

I will always love every book Hailey writes!✨️
I started with Sirens Game and Sirens Heart, and I am a forever fan of this series!
I love reading about the Walker brothers since they made such an impact as a form of entertainment in The Sirens Duet.🤭

Lexie's fiancé breaks her heart (and what a jerk he was🙄) and she starts hanging out with Jackson more after helping him through a panic attack.🥺
They obviously have major chemistry, but they go along as friends for a while.
They have some of the sweetest dates all over London.🥰
And the spice!✨️
Jackson and Lexie are perfect for each other! 🩷

I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this book- cheating tropes really aren’t my thing, that being said I’m so glad I jumped into this book head first !
Even though cheating is one of the main tropes I didn’t feel like it took over the storyline. Lexie’s fiancee crushed her when she found out the truth, but being a strong female she was able to overcome it with Jackson by her side.
The dates through London were the sweetest moments, I truly enjoyed how I felt like I was exploring London with the MC’s.

Slowest of slow burns but so worth it

I really hate slowburns, but this gets the exception to the rule because I didn't notice it was a slow burn at all. It wasn't till the spice hit that I realized how much of the book I had devoured. Its such a cute story. From unexpected friendship to a powerful romance its just perfect for the holiday season. Definitely different to the others in the series but also close to being one of my favorite. I love everything Hailey writes, and I cannot wait for more on the walker Brothers!

I am absolutely loving the Walker Brothers series! The relationship between the brothers is honest and real. I also love the family bond between Lexie and her boss Alan and his son Bailey. Jackson and Lexie meet and an immediate friendship bond forms. Neither is looking for love but their feelings for each other grow until they can no longer deny it. They have fantastic chemistry and I love that they’re there for each other!

I didn't like the characters. I found them to be very immature. I kept expecting one of them to say "I know you are, but what am I?" The author also writes very little of the main characters' time together. You read about her life, his life, and their thoughts about each other when they aren't together. And when they are together, I don't read any chemistry between them.

I love all of Hailey Frost's books and this one is no exception! She crafts such cute, fun relationships that always draw me in and I loved watching Jackson and Lexie fall for each other. The setting of London feels like a character itself, which was a fun feature of the story. I look forward to learning more about the Walker family in future books!

It's a nice enough story with a setting in London. Lexie is a hard worker and moved to London with her fiancee from the US, I believe.

Jackson just seems so immature. He probably could use some therapy too.

I wished there would of been more dating in the story. Their adventures in London were interesting.

I'm hungry for Pumpkin cupcakes
right now. 😂

That’s was a cute book.

Not angsty at all despite the fact that one of the main characters broke up cause her fiancée cheated on her at the beggining of the book. This could be very emotional and intense but it actually wasn’t.

I disliked Jackson’s family and quite a lot & ruined also the previous book for me. And I won’t be reading the next ones that follow the rest of the family.

Bright Smile & London Eye is book two in the Walker Brothers serie but can be read as a standalone. (But trust me when I say book one is also very good and fun to read!)

I have been waiting for Jacksons story! And now that I finished it, it was such a cute and funny read tot read. Right from the start of it I was pulled inside and it didn't let me go 'till I finished it. This book has a cute friends to lovers trope and being set in the beautiful city of London I really enjoyed reading it. Lexie and Jackson felt so cute together and I loved how much depth Hailey was able to put into the book when the book isn't even 300 pages long. The more you read, the more you learn about both Lexie and Jackson. And being told from both their POV was for me a big plus.

I can't wait for the next book in the series to arrive!

Thank you Hailey Frost for this ARC to read and review.

The story was very refreshing and interesting.
The story wasn’t solely about a cheating relationship but the aftermath of it and also anxiety and grief.
I really enjoyed this book. Very easy to read.

Sometimes you just need a nice low angst fluff read to reset and this was perfect. I do wish we would’ve seen Lexie surprise Jackson with a cake though. My poor baby Jackson deserves it.

Bright Smile & London Eye, book 2 in the Walker Brothers series, is a cute strangers to friends to lovers story! This was a very quick read which means the pace moved pretty quickly. Warning: cheating occurs but not between the mc's and it didn't take over the whole plot of the book which I really appreciated.

Lexie, a phenomenal baker, is incredibly strong and resilient. Jackson, an actor and 2nd oldest Walker brother, is sweet and reserved. They formed an unexpected friendship and had amazing chemistry. Both were struggling with their own issues but together they helped each other heal. Jackson's problems with change was a recurring theme and gave more depth to the sibling dynamic between the Walker brothers, particularly between Jackson and Adam. The ending led nicely in to the start of book 3, Winter Glam in Amsterdam and I will definitely be continuing the series!

P.S. I would love a book on Bailey and Olivia! Bailey, Alan, and Lexie have such a sweet work relationship/friendship!
