Who doesn’t love a good cheer team , nothing gets them down when they’re tumbling around …except when one ends up falling on the ground.. then it’s more nightmare than dream come true. Poor Tasha loved to compete but this one had her beat…what could she do. Well wake up,and smell the coffee at Palmer City Coffee Loft where she enjoys a Pumpkin Spice Latte or a chocolatey cocoa or specialty Mocha more than oft. Monty was the problem unbeknownst because poor Tasha he did ghost. So friends to enemies they became and wasn’t that a crying shame? Good together? They were the best. …Until this mess. Now they’ve grown up and Tasha with cheer pal Nate coach their cheer team , living the dream as much as she’s able. Then her partner gets a big break and leaves cards on the table and her in the hands of his mate…Oh now come on Nate ….Monty and Tasha coach together ? I think we’re in for some stormy weather 🌦️ But no let’s not be hasty , it’s for the kids and besides underneath that costume he’s gotten rather tasty… Tasha sucks it up for the good of the team, and Nana BooBoo needs her so there’s nothing she won’t do , she’ll even put up with that pesky cat who thinks he’s all that and has to come too Parfait Les Chat …what a to do! So while Nana is living it up in a convalescent home . Monty moves in along with the cat to Tasha’s Flat . Would be cosy too but for one night when he gave her such a fright. The room full of a sudsy bubble or two ..Oh Monty Biddington Mascot no. 3 now what did you do? I LOVE THESE TWO ! So it’s all going wrong and now it’s time for a song and a cheer because the cheer team’s all here along with the Mascots who take to the Ice along with their team Denver FireVolts. Lots packed in on ice and off as well as in the Coffee Loft. Palmer City is so friendly and pretty and after getting down to the nitty gritty and lots of hilarious episodes there’s loads of fun and laughter as well as an happy ever after . Oh Kerry Evelyn we love you and these great characters you introduce us to. I look forward to seeing more of Penny and Xavier too and the other great individual characters you bring to the fore to meet once more. Bravo ! Loved every page . Encore!Brilliant writing , a city so inviting and immersive too. Is there anything Ms Evelyn that you can’t put a pen to? Coffee or Pigeon it’s Lofty with FUN and full of puns…

Fans of Kerry Evelyn will know that each of her books is an amazing, stand alone story with glimpses of favorite characters from some of her other books. When you've read them all, you know the backstories of the characters, but even if you haven't, her books are still wonderful. I'm not a Pumpkin Spice person, but I love Kerry's books so I jumped at the chance to read her latest and it did not disappoint. Tasha and Monty have known each other most of their lives. As the book begins, from Tasha's point of view you see how hurt and upset she was when her cheerleading partner (Monty) left her to work with someone else, creating a rift between the two. When Monty needs a place to live for a short time while his house is being renovated, he asks Tasha if he could rent her spare room. She doesn't want to so her stipulation is that Monty take her to any events the Palmer City Voltage hockey team is having. She's decided that she's going to marry a rich hockey player like her sister did to get her out of the financial mess she is in due to extensive medical bills from a chronic illness. Now, reading that, you might think poorly of Tasha, but you need to keep reading and let the characters develop. In time you learn that the cheer relationship between Monty and Tasha goes back to their early childhood and they were the best together. The partner Tasha worked with after Monty dropped her and the resulting injury ended her cheerleading career. She now works as a coach and at the local coffee shop. Monty comes from money and can be a bit arrogant, but you learn that he'd do anything for his grandmother who he lives with, taking care of her. And that he volunteers his time at the hospital, visiting as the Voltage mascot to cheer up the children. As the story progresses and the characters spend more time together coaching the elite cheer team, you see that Monty still cares deeply about Tasha and she slowly begins to lower the walls she's placed between them. And it becomes obvious that Monty's decision to change partners wasn't even remotely related to cheering. I found myself not wanting to put the book down. I wanted to see what was coming next, and how Monty was going to overcome Tasha's objections - to everything. It was a great read.

I received this book prior to its release but my review is not influenced by anyone else.

I absolutely loved this book!!! Probably my favorite of Kerry’s books so far, although I love them all! The relationship between the MMC Monty and his grandmother Nana Boo-boo was so sweet and had me falling in love with him right from the start. The MFC Tasha is real and relatable. The story had me laughing out loud at times, as well as tearing up as I felt their grief and pain. I found this book to be well written, fun, and very inspiring. This book is part of a series, and while it is a standalone story, the characters from the previous books all make an appearance. I would recommend reading the series in order to prevent spoilers. And I definitely recommend the entire series!! I’ve fallen in love with all the characters!!

Pumpkin Spice Spice Baby is a clean, swoony, friends to enemies to friends to more romance. Wow, these two - Tasha and Monty - are both hardworking, estimable characters. I love how Monty treats Tasha and Nana BooBoo. There is just so much to love in this book. The cat is great, too - and I am not a cat person. I just wanted to hang out with these characters and soak up more stories. Once I started reading, I did not get much else done until I reached the end!
