Reviews

[Jelena Djurkovic]

I’m not entirely sure what it is about 19th-century rural Norway that draws me in so much, but it always works its quiet magic on me.

Reading this reminded me of how much I enjoyed Trygve Gulbranssen’s Bjørndal Trilogy, though Bjørnson was actually the one who really paved the way for that world some 70–80 years earlier.
