SOMETIMES THE BEST RECIPES INCLUDE A DASH OF UNEXPECTED LOVE
The fifth story in the new Tiny Matchmakers series was a definite page-turner with a unique cast of characters and their interactions. The story is a clean Western historical tale that takes place in a small town in Cedar Ridge, Montana. The story will focus on a widow, Maris Hawthorne, and her young daughter, Elara who moved to Cedar Ridge—and local farmer Holt Fletcher.
Maris and her late husband, Ethan, had dreamed of moving away from the city, into the quaint smaller town of Cedar Ridge, Montana. Then he took ill and died, leaving Maris and Elara alone. Finally, she took the leap of faith to move and continue the dream. Maris is a talented baker and is hopeful she will be able to make a living with her baked goods.
Holt Fletcher and his brother inherited the land that was owned by their family, several generations back. James is widowed and raising his son, Weston, and lives in the farmhouse and Holt has another home he built. He had been engaged to Caroline who broke his heart when she eloped with his best friend.
The story will have Maris and Elara arriving in town on the train and on the way to their boarding house, Holt notices them, but she is gone before he sees where they went. This happens several times, he sees her and then misses her.
James: Missed her, didn’t you? Holt: Yeah, missed her. James: You’re going to scare her to death if you keep this up. If it’s meant to be, you’ll meet her. Holt: You think I’m crazy, don’t you? James: Maybe a little. But I’ve never seen you like this. She must be something special. Holt: I don’t know what I’m thinking but I can’t quite explain this need to meet her. James: Follow your heart. You deserve to be happy.
This was another great story in the series. The little matchmakers do get involved and it was also fun seeing so many of the characters from previous stories. I liked how Holt recognized that he needed to move slowly with her, worried about her feelings regarding her late husband—but he never asked about how long it had been. Maris is cautious, with a new town, trying to find her bearings, make a living, find a home, and care for her daughter. They seem to bump into each other often at the marketplace where Holt is selling produce and she sells her baked goods. It seems to begin with a tiny puppy—and blossoms from there.
Best of all, the story does have a happy ending. The stories have all been very enjoyable and I look forward to more in this series. It was also fun seeing people from previous books too. It’s always fun to see how the ‘tiny matchmakers’ are going to work together for love.
I enjoyed the book! The tiny matchmakers are at it again! Maris and her daughter Elana move to Cedar Ridge. Maris hopes to open a bakery. Holt is a farmer who notices Maris soon after she arrives. Elara and the tiny matchmakers decide that Maris and Holt are a perfect match and get to work! The dog Dusty adds some humor to the book! This is a clean wholesome book. This book is part of a series but can be read standalone. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series! I highly recommend reading this book!
This was another match maker story, brought on by the little “tiny matchmakers.” This one was about Maris and her daughter Elara, meeting Holt. He had Ollie’s at the market and the smallest puppy e Was not sold. Elara saw a boy being mean to the puppy and she wanted him for her own. Enjoy this beautiful story.
This is a sweet and fun tale about more of the Tiny Matchmakers plans that turn in to love and marriage. You will enjoy all of the their matchmaking skills, some that work as planned and some that don’t.
Such a very nice read. This I written by Lynn Landes Pumpkin Spice Wishes and Harvest Kisses is a very good book. This book is about a baker and a farmer. It can be read in a evening and is full of matchmakers all under the age of 10. A very enjoyable read.
