Under the Influence is the story of Alison Marcus, a young woman who is rebuilding her life as she recovers from substance abuse. She’s been clean and sober for three years, has a good job, and is about to regain custody of her little girl, when she becomes a person of interest in a hit-and-run accident that left the victim severely injured.
This novel follows Alison as she navigates a series of events that challenge her new lifestyle, including the hit-and-run investigation conducted by a police officer, Troy Simmons, who holds a grudge against substance abusers; a new love interest, local environmentalist/attorney David Plovington; and troubling flashbacks that make her question her sense of self and even her sanity.
