Amelia Storm #13

Storm's Symbol

Rate this book
This killer is setting the world on fire. One house at a time.
Special Agent Amelia Storm thought she’d seen the darkest corners of humanity after facing a killer who exploited social media to broadcast his twisted “message.” But her latest case in the FBI Violent Crimes Unit plunges her into a new nightmare—one that catapults her from the frying pan into the fire.

Literally.

In the dead of night, an affluent Chicago neighborhood becomes a hellscape as an arsonist claims an entire family, leaving nothing but charred remains and unanswered questions. This is no isolated incident. The fire-starter has struck three times before, turning homes into death traps—all within a year’s time.

Four infernos, fifteen victims, nine dead, and six barely clinging to life. But the most chilling detail? The exits were meticulously sealed, forcing the victims to meet a fiery end or fall to their death. Amelia’s gut tells her this isn’t just the work of an arsonist.

He’s a serial killer. And he uses fire as his weapon.

At each scene, a sinister, occult-like symbol taunts investigators, a twisted signature of a killer who craves recognition. With every new fire, Amelia races to uncover the deadly pattern binding the victims, knowing this monster’s hunger for destruction is growing—and he won’t stop until his dark message is seared into the world.

From the wickedly dark minds of Mary Stone and Amy Wilson comes Storm’s Symbol, book thirteen of the Amelia Storm FBI Series. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. And sometimes, the twisted mind of a killer.

STORM'S SYMBOL is the thirteenth installment in the Amelia Storm Series by Mary Stone and Amy Wilson and it's another winning page turner that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Once you start reading, make sure you have plenty of time to get lost in this FBI Thriller.

Amelia Storm and her team just closed a case about internet influencers attacked with acid.

Now, Amelia and her team have been requested to help in a deadly arson case. Someone has been torching homes with occupants trapped inside and. A satanic symbol left behind. Problem, no one has seen anything, no fingerprints or DNA recovered. They also haven't found anything tying the victims together. The only hint of a clue is some burned buildings eight years ago and one fatality. Unfortunately, that suspect is currently in prison.

Will Amelia and team be able to figure out who the arsonist is before more family homes go up in flames and more lives lost.

I really enjoyed this book and the entire series which is well written. The collaboration between these two authors is superb, together bringing us intense stories. I recommend reading the entire riveting series.

I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest review. Now, for the next book.

There are questions about houses being burnt in the suburb Chicago. The rise of dead victims, no clues and locks and shims found outside of the windows and doors, make Amelia and the team wonder if they ever find the arsonist in such a big city as is Chicago. What’s the motif and what the victims have in common? Mary and Amy created a perfect twisty character of the crazy, demented killer, who lost his sense of the reality and his “revenge” reaches the new level of the devilish plan. When the team is almost at the end of the rope, one woman’ heroic act moves the investigation forward. While the tension and action pace rises, there is another storm brewing for Amelia and Zane. Very well done. Don’t miss this action packed book.

Storm has her work cut out for her when she is handed a new case. This is a serial arsonist who is killing families. Apparently, no connections between the families. It is difficult to figure out how the killer is choosing his victims and therefore difficult to decide where to search. The only thing they have in common is the fires are in two specific shared areas. There's a lot of twists in this plot and you go down a few rabbit holes. Eventually they catch a break and see some disturbing video which helps them narrow down the suspect. This guy is completely bereft of emotions, compassions, or guilt. He is dead set on destroying families. His story is one that can help you see how psychopaths can be made. Good book and well worth the read.

Catch up or catch on fire. FBI's Special Agent Amelia Storm is back at it again. Her and her 3 co-worker friends are on the job investigating Fires. As Amelia, Layton, Sherry and Dean are buried under paperwork, Canvasing neighborhoods, discovering that there never is a straight answer.
I have been excited everytime I get to read about Amelia and her co-workers, the cases they work, the times you can almost see what they are doing. I always think I have it figured out and I discover I'm not always right.

Amelia and Zane are investigating a house fire in a nice area of Chicago. There are no survivors. The house was a total loss, with little to head the team to the answers of why. When a second house burns, they widen their search and discover similarities to some other cases.
It is a race to find the culprit before any more people perish or houses go up in smoke.
Very fast paced and, suspenseful.

Storm's Symbol( Amelia Storm FBI Mystery Series Book 13)

This book was so exciting and amazing, it was A good read for Halloween. It is amazing how people learn to hurt others. In this one a serial killer uses fire, he blocks people(families) in their homes and sets them on fire. It takes a lot twists and turns but Amelia and her team catch him and save a lot of innocent people. I can't wait to read the next book.

Excellent, never disappoints, I have failed to mention Amy, she and Mary have made a great partnership in writing this series. Surely a page turner, and I read in one sitting. That's the bad thing about their books, so exciting you don't want to put it down. Then, before you know it, you're finished and need to wait on the next book. !!! Storm's Symbol is a good book to read.

Inferno

Wonderful engaging characters and good setting. FBI are again after a serial killer but this time there are very few clues and an unusual method fire. I think dying by fire is one of the scariest ways to die or even surviving a fire and loosing everything you own is devastating. A book motto be missed.

Storm's Symbol

They are tracking a serial arsonist. He is killing the perfect family. Through clues and interviews they find their guy and arrest him before he kills again, saving the family he's chosen and the other 15 families in the building. This author is intelligent with an awesome imagination.

Another nail biter for sure.

I can and will continue to read Mary Stone’s books. I’m always happy and intrigued. I try thinking and guessing, but I don’t know how to solve the cases Matt leaves enough out, I wouldn’t have a chance to guess right.
I’m always ready to tear on to the next adventure.

This was good.

It was a little slow starter as was the rest of the book. Its good to take your time with a book like this because there aren't abrupt parts. The story unfolds slowly, its in the details. This is a continuation as its the thirteenth book and the characters have become familiar.

Really heated up the reading

The chaos of everyday life is something you don't think about with law enforcement. Trying to maintain regular hours is laughable. It is the smell of the hunt that keeps them going so strong. Not all glamour in their jobs but you are able to follow along and sense where it is headed

Exciting story

It's interesting to read about Amelia and her fellow agents try to follow clues to find the arsonist who has killed people in his fires. Will they be able to find him before he strikes again? These stories are always good. I'm looking forward to the next book when Zane's past catches up to him.

Arsonist

Someone was setting fires in 2 well to do suburbs of Chicago. The fires were not the major intent of the unsub however. He wanted to kill the families, to teach them to suffer. Finding the arsonist was almost impossible until one clue came their way.

Fire

A serial killer is targeting people with fire. Amelia and her fellow agents are faced with finding him. A new twist is added that targets Amelia's life. Revenge and hatred are the motives in this to-be-continued story.

It was interesting and well written as were the others in the series. However, I did not enjoy it as much. I am not sure whether I am tired of the series it if the story was not as interesting.

Serial Killers turn Mass Muderers

I liked it all, the attention to detail, the
shocking way the killer was so evil, but mostly that they got him.
