i only really learnt about the stardust fire on the 18th april 2024 - the day the jury in the inquest returned their verdict. i remember feeling quite emotional while reading the families’ reactions to finally getting justice 43 years later and was anxious to learn more about how such a awful tragedy could occur. this book presents a well-researched and harrowing account of that fateful night in arcane and decades-long battle fought by the loved ones of the 48 to have recognised what they knew all along: they were unlawfully killed
WOW!! A harrowing but well written story about a historic Irish tragedy. Another example of how those with money and power can literally get away with anything. This book was a very tough read. It depicted, sometimes in very disturbing but necessary detail, what some of these poor families went through. As an Irish citizen, it makes me so angry to read about how our system treats the working class individual, and this book is a prime example. Well done to those who put it together, beautifully told.
Such a true heartbreaking retelling of such a horrendous tragedy. This book is written with such detail of all the tragic events and tragic losses of so many innocent lives. This book encapsulates so many emotions and details all the proceedings of the tribunal and after. A very tough book to read but an important one. R.I.P to all those innocent souls
I use this excellent novel for my leaving start history RSR and from start to finish it was a bountiful of incredibly well researched information alongside analysis not only that a brilliant dichotomy of perspectives from both argument that really allowed me to create an unbiased project that looked into the effects of the fire on both sides the causes of the fire the impact on families the impact on the bodies and so on so forth . A truly poignant revealing shocking and inspirational read the dives deep into the heart of Ireland and the trauma of the Stardust fire that had lived on for 40 years . A must read!
