I can't get enough of this series. With that said I must suggest that you read these books in order because of how the series flows if they are not read in order you will have a ton of spoilers if you skip a book.
Now for this this book Debra has beautifully started to set up the reader for the conclusion of this series. This book left us with more questions then answers. I have so many thoughts about Jess's dad and what he really did going through my mind my head is starting to hurt. Then who is setting up Dan? I start leaning one way then something happens and then second guess that idea as well. Then there is the blurb for the next book saying someone has to die and I keep saying no...you can't kill any of these people off because they are like family and I will just cry. Well unless it is Spears. He has to go. Lol.
Counting down the days until the next book is released. Needless to say this is highly recommend along with the rest of the series. It is one of best series I have ever read and being this many books and staying totally true to the story is a true talent.

HEINOUS By Debra Webb

“Faces Of Evil #9 - Heinous” by Debra Webb is the latest book of the twelve book story featuring main characters Deputy Chief Jess Harris and Police Chief Dan Burnett of Birmingham, Alabama. Readers have been following the growth of both Jess and Dan since the release of “Obsession,” the first book in the “Faces of Evil” series.

Debra Webb helps readers understand everything that is going on with her great back-stories on the two protagonists Jess Harris and Dan Burnett and the evil antagonist Eric Spears aka “The Player." HEINOUS takes the readers a step closer to a showdown.

HEINOUS also has a great cast of support characters both good and bad. Webb keeps the readers on the edge of their seats as she updates the serial killer, the issues dealing with Burnett, the personal lives of Jess and Dan, and the key supporting characters with well-written story lines.

While Webb’s FACES OF EVIL series is a great roller coaster ride providing ups and downs, turns and twists, direction changes, and unpredictable surprises for the fans, the one thing that has been a constant through the series is Webb’s development of the romance between Jess and Dan. Their love for each other gets stronger with each page of the entire series.

In Webb’s well-written story lines, Webb helps her readers understand what Jess feels about what she has learned about her father. Webb places her readers in the same room with Jess as she expresses her thoughts to her sister about the DNA results. Webb does a great job helping us understand Dan’s feelings when Jess tells him she has agreed to let his mother help her get ready for the baby.

As Webb helps her readers prepare for what will be coming in her next three books, she uses her creativity to help us see how Jess and Dan deal with the tension created by Black’s internal investigation. We see that Jess is not afraid to challenge Black while Dan is still willing to trust Black. We see both Jess and Dan discuss their concerns on how to prepare for their child’s birth. Webb helps her reader's share Jess and Dan’s priority which is to catch and stop Eric Spears, aka “The Player."

HEINOUS is Webb’s launching pad to help show her readers what Jess and Dan will need to do to find solutions to their combined issues. Fans of Faces of Evil need to look forward to the arrival of #10 DEPRAVED releasing in November and #11 & #12 MOST EVIL, both releasing in December.

FACES OF EVIL #9 – HEINOUS is a must read. Fans who love mystery, thrills, twists and turns on every page, surprises and romance will love this book. Debra Webb never disappoints her fans. Webb has earned her five stars from this reviewer.

HEINOUS By Debra Webb
FACES OF EVIL #9 – HEINOUS is a must read! Anyone who loves mystery, suspense, thrills, twists and turns on every page, surprises and romance will love this book. Heinous by Debra Webb is the latest book of the twelve book series which feature the main characters Deputy Chief Jess Harris and Police Chief Dan Burnett of Birmingham, Alabama. I gave this book a five star review! I have been following the growth of these characters from book one and each book just gets better and better. The series grabs you from pages one and leaves you wanting more at the end. I can hardly wait for #10 in November.
Debra Webb helps her readers identify with everything that is going on with Jess Harris and Dan Burnett and the personal and professional issues that they face. Their evil adversary Eric Spears aka “The Player" is determined to make things difficult for Jess by sending her clues with each victim. He is enjoying toying with her and Dan’s lives. They must do whatever it takes to protect their baby and family from harm. HEINOUS takes us one step closer to a confrontation with Eric Spears which is exactly what he wants with Jess.
HEINOUS keeps you on your seat with lots of suspense, surprises, emotional highs and lows as the whole department with Jess leadership attempting to capture “The Player” and save the victims. The story has a lot of turns and twists that keeps you guessing. The story lines are well written, and allow us to understand how Jess feels about the discoveries concerning her father. Having the difficult task of informing her sister about the DNA results concerning Amanda is heartbreaking.
Fans of the Faces of Evil series need to pre-order #10 DEPRAVED, which releases in November and #11 & #12 MOST EVIL, both releasing in December.

This is book 9 in the FOE series and it just keeps getting better. Jess continues to get more and more involved with the Spears case which, by the way, continues to involve more and more people and victims. Spears keeps spending an inordinate amount of time trying to convince Jess that everything that has ever happened in this case rolls back to Jess's family. The mayor and his cronies finally manage to get Dan placed on suspension and the suspense and confusion just keep getting better and better!
Read this book as soon as you can. You won't be sorry!

Omg, Deb just keeps getting better and better. Just when you think you have figured out who is helping Eric Spears, POOF, that person becomes a victim and your theories go right back to zero again. I don't think we are going to be able to guess the outcome of this series until the last page of book 12. Everyone needs to get this series and start reading at book 1(obsession) because you will be hooked.

Debra Webb is an All-star when it comes to grabbing her readers by the horns. Heinous performed exactly where her loyal fans wanted it to, besides leaving us hanging!!! Yet again.
The best part of reading the Faces of Evil series is that you have been intertwined into the characters lives. Here's to hoping fall release's date comes soon!

OMG this the best yet!! All of this series is good and each one gets better! The only bad part is that it ends and we have to wait until November for Depraved!! If you haven't read this series you are really missing out!

I really enjoyed digging back into Jess & Dan's story. Debra Webb never fails to give you a crazy wild ride while reading her. It's coming down to the wire and I'm ready for the face-off between her and Spears. Eric Spears is one nasty piece of work. I'm interested, who am I kidding...I'm dying to see what is going to happen.

She has just the right balance of stories going on. Between the serial killer, the cases building on Dan and the other surrounding characters all having there own story lines. I have some ideas on what I think will happen, but when that happens is just when Deb usually throws a big loop into the story. I'm eagerly looking forward to the next book in November. My favorite part...the love story between Dan & Jess. They have been to hell and back and found each other again... I'm a true romantic!

This series is a must read if you enjoy mystery, bedlam, romance with twist and turns all throughout. Debra Webb is on my auto MUST buy list!!!!

Debra has done it again! The latest book in the Faces of Evil series, Heinous, grabs you from the beginning and you will not want to put the book down until it is finished. Then when you have finished, you’ll be anxiously waiting for the next one. This is one of those series that I will be reading over and over in the future because it’s so good.

Jess and Dan are still in the midst of murders and under suspicion as the story picks up. Is Amanda really her sister and Maddie her niece? Was everything she ever believed about her parents a lie?

People that talk to Jess seem to end up dead. Who is trying to cover up what happened to her parents? Is the Player involved? Who is going to be the next woman the Player takes? Has he already started the torturing? Where could he be?….somewhere very close, watching Jess and the people she cares about.

This is book 9 in the Faces of Evil series. More and more bodies keep showing up and more taunting Jess by Eric Spears. Dan is having issues of his own but at least they have each other. Jess is finding more and more clues about her long dead parents but what really happened to them? Will Eric Spears, aka Player, ever be caught? Well you need to get your copy to find out.
I have loved this series since I discovered it by getting Obsession free a few yrs ago. I love it that in only a few more books, we will have the answers but I hate it because this series is ingrained in me! What will I read that keeps me on my toes? Trust me, you need to read this or start from the beginning and read the entire rise. Debra Webb really found her niche with Faces of Evil!!!

Well here the next installment of the Face of Evil series book number 9 Heinous. While Jess Harris she continue to be challenged when more dead bodies turn up with more clues that point to her past. If you know anything about putting a puzzle together, than all of a sudden the pierces of the puzzle start to fall in to place. You are asking the question in your mind, what has Jess family has to do with Eric Spears, aka: The Player, and why does he want Jess so badly. Dan Burnett has been suspended from his position as Chief of Police. Why is Dan, being set up? What does the mayor has to do with Dan, being suspension or who else is behind this set up on Dan. I have so many questions than I do answer.

The one thing that I can say about Debra Webb, she has never disappointed me. With that said, it is so very easy for me to recommend this book, and the other books in this series. If you are a fan who loves a good mystery, with suspense with some romance in it than this is a must read for you.

I just finished this book and WOW is all I can say. The tension is building as Jess rushes to catch a killer, Dan faces the possible end of his career and Eric Spears tightens the nooses he has built around all of them. This book brings you right to the brink and you can see the explosion coming!
I can't wait but then again I am a little afraid to see what happens next!
Great job Debra Webb!

This book deals entirely with The Player story arc. It was fast-paced and quite thrilling, but leaves you with a big cliffhanger. I guess if you could wait (which I definitely can never wait when it comes to this series), maybe read this closer in time to when Depraved is released.

As the series starts to wind down the suspense is building in Heinous, Debra Webb’s next

installment in the Faces of Evil series. What Jess Harris thought she knew about her childhood

continue to be challenged when dead bodies turn up with clues that point to her past. As the

puzzle pieces start to fall into place we are left waiting for the next installment as Dan Burnett,

suspended from his position as Chief of Police, Jess and her team along with her trusted friend

Buddy Corlew are on the way to the final confrontation with Eric Spears.

Debra Webb just keeps writing books that make me want more! Heinous, the 9th book out of a 12 book series, is just another example of her good work.
This book starts basically right where book 8, Vile, leaves off. Jess Harris, is working to help wrap up the case of all the bodies at the farm. She is called to a church to deal with another dead body and finds it is another person from her past. Spears, the serial killer she is hunting, most likely is involved but Jess has to prove this and find him. Chief Dan Barnett is still dealing with his issues within the police department and the investigation into his possible involvement of the disappearance of Chief Allen.
Debra Webb is beginning to wrap up the series and the tension is building. I am anxious for the next book in the series and look forward to how she will wrap up the series.

Jess is still chasing Eric Spears and even more secrets about Jess's family are revealed in this latest segment of FACES OF EVIL. I think that if you haven't read the other books, starting with this one will be very confusing. I really wish Debra Webb would not draw out a story that in reality is only a few months long into 7-8 books. It is tiring to keep up with the cast of characters and the storyline from book to book. That being said, I love the story and hopes that Webb will write a new series starring Jess and Dan.

I think that the last few books in this series are going to be the end of me. Each book ends in a cliffhanger, which is bad enough, but now they're so close to bringing the bad guy in and... wait till November! AAAH. No.

But seriously, these books are absorbing and exciting. The characters are amazing, and I often find myself rooting for the wrong ones because they're written so well. (Case in point: my two favorite characters are a serial killer and the hero's main rival LOL).

This is book 9 in the Faces of Evil series. If you haven't started the series yet, I suggest that you do. This book, like the others grabs you from the start and doesn't let up. It is getting closer to the end, so things are starting to fall into place. Questions remain as to what Jess's family has to do with the Player. All that Jess and Dan want to do is start a new life together, but with Dan's job being threatened to be taken away and the Player on the loose and getting closer to Jess, how will they be able to? Debra Webb just keeps getting better with each book, and more intense!!

This is by far the best in the series so far, I can hardly wait for the next. Serial killer the Player is obsessed with Deputy Chief Jess Harris. He is targeting anyone close to her and trying to convince her that everything that has happened in the case ties back to her past. Who is framing Dan and why? Who is helping the Player? As usual there are plenty of twists and turns with lots of questions! You won't regret picking up the series.

Don't read the last chapter! It's a major cliff hanger! This book is a lot like the first 8. Jess is still chasing Spears, Spears is still toying with Jess, sketchiness and secrets all around, etc, etc... In my opinion the first 5 or 6 books were great, the last 3 were mediocre, as I'm sure the next one will be, I figure the last 2 will be as good as the earlier ones. If not, at least it will be over! While I love the characters, these 9 books take place over a couple of months and the story line feels more drawn out with each book. At this point, I only keep reading them because I feel like I've invested so much time into the series that I want to see it through to completion.

Arrgghh!! You'd think since these all end on some type of cliffhanger, I wouldn't be so aarrggh, but there it is. I loved this book and all the rest but I'm seriously ready for this whole ball of tension to come to a conclusion - which I think she's doing with the next book. Unfortunately, it won't be out for a while yet, so I'm just going to have to hang in the wind.

Loved this, btw, in case you didn't catch that part in the rantings. Total awesomeness.
