The clash of human tradition with divine truth persisted throughout the earthly sojourn and ministry of Jesus. This conflict continues in the Church today, though most Christians are not even aware of this battle. We read about it in Mark’s Gospel, Chapter 7, Verses 1 through 10. Truth and traditions will always be in conflict, and as Christians we must decide which to believe.
The traditions of men are just as the words the source is man. Truth, on the other hand, originates from God. The Apostle Paul calls these traditions in his letter to the Church at Galatia, “A different gospel,” or “Really no gospel at all.” Galatians 1:6-7.
The traditions of men are based on what the physical eyes can see or the circumstances of life. They rely on reason. The truth of God’s Word is not based on the results of our experiences in life. To undertake this action is comparable to constructing our home (life) upon a sandy shore, devoid of a sturdy foundation. Truth based on God's word is a strong foundation. Matthew 7:24-28.
This book lays bare and sheds light upon the numerous prevailing traditions within the modern-day Church. These traditions have no basis in the Word of God but have been passed down for generations and are still operating at the present time. All the chapters in this book have been carefully researched and backed by scripture. The purpose of this book is to bring hope and understanding that God, your Heavenly Father, loves you and always desires your victory through His Word.
