Dark threads is the seventh book in the Hailey Arquette series. A band of physics, shapeshifters and a few detectives come together to try and track down and stop Jun (another physic trying to build his own army to take over the human world) This adventure takes Hailey, Casper and Noah on a frantic chase where they always seem 1 step behind Jun and his army. Still searching for Casper’s uncle Dante they find out Jun’s captured yet another psychic, this one being a monk with super speed. When they come across one of Jun’s underground laboratories, they don’t realize it was a set up until too late. Hailey Casper and Trenton are all shot with darts. How will this affect or change their DNA? Will this group of monks band together with Casper and her team? Can they find and rescue Dante and Koda before it’s too late? Reily keeps you and the edge of your seat. Can’t wait for the next installment.

The suspense with this book was quite high, but I’m so glad they finally got to Dante. Learned a lot about their enemy and really thankful Jun is done, but now it’s his boss that will be their next enemy. I also love that Trenton has a special power now. He’s got a lot to learn but the combo with Hailey will make their team even stronger. I hope her visions come true. Can’t wait for the next book!

I enjoyed the continuation of the series with old characters. I liked the monks and what skills they bring to the group. It was a fun read and i will be looking for more from the series. I gave 4 stars because I felt 2 of the new characters I thought might be important could have been more developed in the end. It was almost as if there was no need for them.

Lots of twists and unexpected revelations in this one as Casper, Hailey and their team search for her missing uncle. With the multiple POV's from all the various characters plus some new ones it makes for an engaging read. Are we getting closer to the lead villain? As a reader you find out, but the good guys are still seeking.

New talent and new talents

The group keeps adding new talent. Even though there were a lot of new characters, it was easy to keep track of them all. No one knows how their talents could be changing. This book kept my interest and I can't wait for the next one. Recommend this story to all readers if the paranormal.
