A-parent-ly Christmas (by Amy R Anguish)—Noel and Joy Davidson didn’t mean to separate, but a job promotion and educational opportunities were too much for their marriage to withstand. Now, it’s Christmas and their son Andy wants them together. Between his mischief, an unexpected snowstorm, and the holiday spirit, they’re remembering why they first wanted to be together. But which one will give up their dream for the other?
A Match of her Own (by Sarah Anne Crouch)—Victoria Wood is torn between elation and devastation now that her sister is married and gone. When she realizes her sister’s best friend is alone and best-friend-less on Christmas, she knows just what to do. Set her up with a boyfriend! But pesky Jared Knight keeps getting in the way. Jared can’t date Victoria—she’s too immature—but he can’t convince his heart to move on. How will he keep Victoria from ruining everyone’s love lives? When will she realize her perfect match is closer than she thinks?
Jingle Bell Matchmakers (by Lori DeJong)—When country music star Aubrey Mayfield is lured home after years away, she’s bewildered when she and ex-fiance-now-widowed-dad Cody Lansdale keep finding themselves in the same place at the same time. As they become reacquainted, however, old feelings stir. Aubrey’s at a crossroads in her career and is contemplating a change. But when a chance at headlining her own tour takes her back to Nashville, Cody realizes her dreams may once again come between them. Unless God, with a little help from the Jingle Bell Committee, has a better plan.
The Santa Setup (by Heather Greer)—Turning friendship into love takes magic. Good thing Nicholas Eckert and Julie Clarke work at Christmas Wonderland. The attraction brims with holiday magic, not to mention four teenage elves determined that Mr. and Mrs. Claus stop playing a couple and become one. The teens will need more than mistletoe to pair up these two. Julie is seeing someone, and Nick won’t risk their friendship for possible love. Only the elven employees’ outrageous antics stand a chance of setting up Santa in time for Christmas.
Amy R Anguish grew up a preacher's kid, and in spite of having lived in seven different states that are all south of the Mason Dixon line, she is not a football fan. Currently, she resides in Tennessee with her husband, daughter, and son, and usually a bossy cat or two. Amy has an English degree from Freed-Hardeman University that she intends to use to glorify God, and she wants her stories to show that while Christians face real struggles, it can still work out for good.
This was a really fun collection of novellas to bring in the feeling of the Christmas season. I liked that there was a gentle faith message woven within each story in a natural way, as well.
The overarching theme that tied these four novellas together was that someone or sometimes many people within each story were trying to bring certain couples together. I especially loved the two stories that were second chance romances. A-parent-ly Christmas by Amy R Anguish brought a husband and wife who had been living apart for nearly a year back together through the matchmaking efforts of their young son. It was so sweet to see the way their hearts began to open to each other. And in Jingle Bell Matchmakers by Lori DeJong you have the fun of a celebrity romance combined with a single dad trope, all tied up in a high school sweethearts second chance story! I loved seeing these two begin to realize that they still loved each other after so many years apart.
The other two stories were also fun to read. In A Match of Her Own by Sarah Anne Crouch, the author captured the essence of Jane Austen’s Emma. I have to admit that Victoria was frustrating at times, but her growth in the story made all of the difference in the end. And The Santa Setup by Heather Greer was a super sweet friends to more romance. I really felt for Nick as he had to watch Julie date another man when he had been completely in love with her for years.
I do wish the novellas had continued on with an epilogue for each story. I love getting a peek a year or so into the future to see what is going on in the lives of the couples in the stories I read. I ended each novella really wanting that. But, overall, these four novellas really captured the feeling of Christmas in each one.
(4.5 stars)
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this collection on Novellas. Each is as good as the other which often doesn't happen with a collection.
A-parent-ly Christmas (by Amy R Anguish) features a family, Joy, Noel and their 8-year-old son Andy. To be honest Andy is the star of this novella. Joy and Noel are at a crossroads, and we see a lot of what is happening from Andy's point of view (even if that isn't the intention). I would love to see more books that deal with a couple several years into a marriage and dealing with different issues. Many times, a book ends at the engagement or wedding occasionally an epilogue, but we don't often see 10 years or more down the track. Seeing how Joy and Noel deal with a current issue was refreshing.
A Match of her Own (by Sarah Anne Crouch) This book features Victoria and Jared. If you love Emma, you will love this novella. To be honest I haven't read Emma as I am not a Jane Austin fan and there are times I wanted to reach in and knock sense into Victoria. She does have good intentions in her own mind, but I found her frustrating. Thankfully she does change, and I liked her by the end. Jared is the voice of reason. The book starts with the wedding of Victoria's sister and Jared's brother with one bridesmaid staying with Victorias family. She had decided she is a matchmaker and is set on matching her up while she's visiting. There are some fun scenes in this story and I love the ending.
Jingle Bell Matchmakers (by Lori DeJong) This is such a fun story and the longest of the novella's. Aubrey and Cody have history. Aubrey went on to have a Country singing career while Cody stayed behind. We are about 10 years into the future when a group of matchmakers conspire to bring Aubrey back and set her up with Cody. Nothing is left to chance and it is fun seeing the lengths these ladies go to. Aubrey is also very much at a crossroads deciding what next. We also see a little into what it takes to make it as a Country singer how it isn't all we may expect. I was very satisfied with the ending.
The Santa Setup (by Heather Greer) Now this was so fun. We have Nicholas and Julie who are best friends working at a Christmas theme village. There are a group of teens who play elves who have one mission on their mind in setting these two up. To make them see they are the perfect couple. Some of the antics are so fun. Enter another romantic interest which makes the teens work harder. I loved how this book played out and I want to go to this village.
Final Thoughts are this is a really good Christmas collection that I would be happy to recommend.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novella collection. Each story was a sweet treat to read. Perfect for the upcoming holiday season. Fun stories. Fun plays on words. Fun all around.
What a fun collection of Christmas romance novellas! Each story in A Match Made at Christmas is different in tropes, and theme (other than the unifying theme of matchmakers) but they all go together perfectly in a cozy, Hallmark-y fashion. In fact, I could see each of these winding up in a future Christmas movie line-up, and I would happily watch them.
The collection opens with A-parent-ly Christmas by Amy R. Anguish, a sweet and swoony tale of a couple whose separate career pursuits have led to an estrangement emotionally as well as physically. In the middle is their precocious 8-year-old son who takes matters into his own hands to make sure all three of them spend Christmas together. I am a huge fan of the original “Parent Trap” movie with Hayley Mills, and this story reminded me of that film in all the best ways. Anguish also did a fabulous job of hooking me into this story from the start and having me root for Noel and Joy to tap into those sparks that still sizzle between them and discover a new happily-ever-after-again. I was invested emotionally in this one, groaning aloud at Andy’s machinations and grinning big when Noel pulled out his husky voice and forehead kisses.
Sarah Anne Crouch’s A Match of Her Own is a modern day reimagining of Jane Austen’s Emma, which I loved because I’m not sure I’ve seen a Christmas retelling of that one before. This was also fun because it’s the only one in the collection where the main character is matchmaking rather than being matched. Victoria is spot on as the Emma representation (the good and the annoying lol) in this story, and her newly-married sister’s best friend makes the perfect Hannah Smith stand-in. And of course there is Jared Knight who was such a great hero and a man of integrity with a good heart. enjoyed watching this story play out, as well as finding the nods to Austen’s classic that were affectionately included. And like I said, I really loved the pairing of Christmas with an Emma retelling … after all, what could be better than Mr. Knightley and a kissing bough?
In Jingle Bell Matchmakers, Lori DeJong gives us a highly entertaining and swoon-inducing tale of matchmaking by committee, a second chance at first love, and small town Christmas fun. The well-intentioned meddling starts right away, with some creative means to get rising Nashville star Aubrey to come back home for Christmas and ‘conveniently’ run into her former fiance Cody who’s now a widower, single dad, and worship pastor. I looooooved these two together! Both are characters with well-developed layers, and they’re people I would be friends with in real life if they weren’t fictional. For that matter, I had fun just hanging out with them on the pages of this novella and would love to revisit them in the future. I also really appreciated – and identified with – Cody & Aubrey’s respective walks with Jesus, especially how it showed up in Aubrey’s process when she has a big decision to make.
We close out the collection with The Santa Setup by Heather Greer which utilizes my fave romance trope – best friends to love. The fact that it’s set in a Christmas village type of park was icing on the … well… on the cookie. Nick and Julie’s friendship is affectionate and fun to read, their easy interactions the kind that comes with years of knowing each other and being deeply involved in each other’s lives. Add in a bunch of teenage staff members with matchmaking on their minds and an unforeseen complication that threatens not only a romantic relationship for Nick & Julie but also their friendship, and you’ve got the recipe for a delightful Christmas story that left me smiling. Because of course as any romance fan knows, best friends sometimes need a little push to act on their feelings for each other, and the final push for them was one of my faves!
Bottom Line: A Match Made at Christmas by these four talented authors brings together everything we love about Christmas and romance and matchmaking into one charming collection of stories. Each novella put a smile on my face, and each gave me at least one swoonworthy moment as well as meaningful notes of faith and the true Reason for the season. Authors Amy R. Anguish, Sarah Anne Crouch, Lori DeJong, and Heather Greer all have engaging writing styles, and their individual takes on the theme kept the collection fresh and entertaining. If you’re looking for heartwarming reads that are sweet and swoony and full of holiday goodness, look no further than A Match Made at Christmas!
(I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I read via Kindle Unlimited.)
The four novellas which make up A Match Made at Christmas are all extremely sweet and will get you into the Christmas mood! Each author brings her own special twist on the matchmaking theme which unites all four stories and is the only way the stories connect.
A-parent-ly Christmas by Amy R Anguish is a cute second-chance romance about a couple who has been separated for several months due to a job promotion which took husband, Noel, out of state and his wife, Joy, who has gone back to college and doesn’t want to lose credits by transferring to a new school. Basically, stubborn parents! Their little boy, Andy, concocts ways for them to be together on Christmas. I adored this story! It was so heartwarming, had well-written characters, and a very Christmas-y vibe!
A Match of her Own by Sarah Anne Crouch is one that fans of Jane Austen’s Emma will enjoy. The author does a good job reimagining the characters, and you’ll easily see who is who. Victoria is convinced she’s a great matchmaker though she’s kind of a disaster at it….like Emma! Jared has come to know Victoria well over the past couple of years as they’ve helped plan their respective siblings’ wedding. I loved Jared and appreciated how well the characters lined up to those in one of my favorite Jane Austen novels.
Jingle Bell Matchmakers by Lori DeJong is a single dad, second-chance, celebrity romance rolled into one, and I loved it tremendously! Aubrey and Cody have a complicated past, but they have lived their lives well in their many years apart. Though Aubrey has yet to become the headlining country music star she hoped to become, she’s had two gold records and has toured with the big names in country music. Cody made the decision to walk away from his Nashville dreams when Aubrey signed on without him. He got married to a wonderful woman who had a toddler daughter. He’s now a widower and living in the town he and Aubrey grew up in. I loved the scheming matchmakers who kept making sure that Aubrey and Cody had the chance to reconnect. They had the best of intentions, and I laughed a lot while reading this! I was completely charmed by the setting, characters, inspirational message, and the swoony, sweet romance!
The Santa Setup by Heather Greer is a charming best friends to more romance that will also have you laughing out loud. The setting of this story is a park called Christmas Wonderland that’s been in Nick’s family since the beginning many, many years ago. Nick loves playing Santa, and Julie loves being Mrs. Claus though not quite as much as she loves crafting new candies for the sweets shop in Wonderland. Nick and Julie are really affectionate though with Julie, it’s just because Nick’s her best friend. However, Nick is in love with Julie! With help from some teenaged elves (who see the obvious fact that Nick and Julie belong together), Julie eventually realizes that her true love has been Nick all along. I thought that these two were so cute together and kept wondering what was wrong with Julie!! Maybe all of the chocolate dulled her senses…no. Not possible.
These four stories will warm your heart, remind you that God is in control, and give you all of the Christmas-y feels you need! I loved that when I ended each story, I was totally not ready for them to end! That was how good they were! I highly recommend A Match Made at Christmas!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
A Match Made at Christmas is a fresh set of novellas that capture holiday cheer. At the core, they focus on matchmaking, and each one includes gentle faith themes.
The mix of tales in this bundle felt great. It made every story fun and easy to remember. These novellas give off that cozy Hallmark vibe, and it put a smile on my face.
First up is A-Parent-ly Christmas. It follows a couple facing marriage troubles, with their 8-year-old kid pulling Parent Trap tricks to reunite them. I chuckled at the boy's antics, even as his mom and dad got annoyed at times.
A Match of Her Own reimagines Jane Austen's Emma. The plot sticks close to the classic, where pals become a couple. Victoria could be a bit stubborn at times, but Jared stayed calm and patient as he waited for Victoria to see the light.
Jingle Bell Matchmakers spotlights old high school flames who never tied the knot. Aubrey's now a famous country singer, while Cody lives in their small town as a widower with a young pre-teenage girl. Their moms secretly play matchmaker, forcing them into shared moments. This tale was adorable, and I loved the leads.
The Santa Setup stars childhood buddies Nicholas and Julie, who've always been friends. The two best friends team up at Christmas Wonderland as Santa and Mrs. Claus, an event I'd visit in a heartbeat. The teen staff spots their spark and schemes to pair them up. I had a blast with the kids' efforts, tough as it was with Julie's other admirer. The best-friends-to-lovers arc is a top pick for me, and this one nails it.
If you want lighthearted holiday romances packed with laughs and sweet faith notes, add A Match Made at Christmas to your must-read list.
A Match Made at Christmas is the cutest Christmas anthology that I have read. If you love a good matchmaking romance, then this is the anthology for you. From the very first page, I was swept into the pages.
A-Parent-ly Christmas starts with the married couple, Noel and Joy, who are separated due to career and school choices. Their son Andy plays matchmaker using his inhaler to get his parents back together.
A Match of Her Own is a retold story of Emma. This story was cute, and you could see the parallels to the original story. This friends-to-more romance was great.
Jingle Bell Matchmakers may be my favorite out of the anthology, but I loved all the stories. When country singer Aubrey comes back to town and finds her grandma is not on her deathbed, things start to seem fishy. All of a sudden, she is put into situations with her ex-fiancé, Cody. With the matchmaking mothers and the jingle bell committee, it is hard to resist their matchmaking schemes. This second-chance romance is perfection.
The Santa Setup is the cutest Hallmark-esque story. The Christmas Wonderland setting makes for a cute story. With the main characters playing Santa and Mrs. Claus, it is the perfect Christmas story. This friends-to-more romance was cute.

Christian Romance Novellas are a great genre and I enjoy them. A Match Made at Christmas by Amy R. Anguish, Sarah Anne Crouch, Lori DeJong, and Heather Greer is the latest book in this genre that I have read. I was excited to read it as it is Christmas themed.
I was captivated by the storyline and theme for this novella from the first few pages. Each of the 4 Stories is about Match Making at Christmas.
A-parent-ly Christmas by Amy R Anguish is a sweet story about a young son who wants his parents to get back together. They have been putting their careers before family for far too long. An unexpected event brings the 3 of them together and the story takes a wonderful twist.
A Match of her Own by Sarah Anne Crouch is Victoria's story. Victoria tries to find a boyfriend for Christmas for her sister's best friend. The twist in this story is that the guy Victoria tries to match with her sister's Best friend, just might be meant for Victoria.
Jingle Bell Matchmakers by Lori DeJong is another sweet story where career is put before love and life. Aubrey is a Country Music Star who returns home during the Holiday season after a long touring schedule. She runs into her Ex-Fiance who is now a widower and a Single Dad. Aubrey and Cody are just rekindling their past love, when Aubrey is given a life changing offer. It may take some convincing from others to keep Cody and Aubrey together again.
The Santa Setup by Heather Greer. A very sweet story about how "elves" play Matchmaking for co-workers Nicholas Eckert and Julie Clarke. They overcome some obstacles that would keep them from being a couple. The teenage elves who play matchmaker are so adorable and cute.
The Novella was short and an easy read. I truly enjoyed each story and I could not pick just one story that is a favorite, because they all are. Holiday Matchmaking seems to be popular everywhere and to read these novellas with the theme is so sweet and enjoyable. I HGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christmas Romance Novellas! GREAT BOOK!

What a wonderful story! Amy is such a talented writer. Her stories always make you want to read just one more page. This one is no different from the rest! The characters are real, their stories draw you in, and the ending is one you will love.
Sit down with a blanket, a hot chocolate, and jump into a story about a family who is a little broken but with the help of some Christmas magic and a mischievous eight year old, things can work out in the end.
A Match of Her Own Sarah Anne Crouch
A wonderful and uniquely, Christmas inspired version of Emma.
It was fun to see who Victoria would try to match up next, all while denying her own feelings deep down.
An entertaining and enjoyable twist on a classic Austin adventure.
Jingle Bell Match Makers Lori Dejong
Cody and Aubrey are wonderful charters with a great storyline. A past history and now possibly a future with the help of their mothers mingling?!
A page turning, delightful love story of rekindling what was and starting a bright path for the future but not without consulting God all along the way first.
The Santa Setup Heather Greer
Nick and Julie are great characters who have been best friends forever but could they be more? This story is wonderfully written and keeps you wanting to turn the page to find out what will happen next in the dynamic of their relationship.
(I received a digital ARC of this book with no expectation in return. The opinions and comments above are mine alone.)
If you are on the hunt for something that is full of small-town Christmas charm in sweet novella packages, then look no further than A Match Made at Christmas. Four clean romance stories showcase matchmaking of all kinds, from a Parent Trap to meddling moms, and even a Santa scheme. There is something for everyone!
The matchmaking throughout each story was what really made this anthology shine. These scenes were some of my favorite moments, even if some certain matchmakers throw boundaries out the window. There is one particular story that is set near where I currently live, which was a delightful surprise and really helped bring this particular story to life, and the small-town vibes radiate off the pages in the best way.
Each story is very character-driven, as most matchmaking tales tend to be, and my emotions were all over the place with the highs and lows as each story has its own unique emotional baggage. Overall, I enjoyed each character and story in their own way and highly recommend this anthology for the busy holiday season when it can be hard to commit to a full-length novel. Each story was easy-breezy to read, kept me engaged, and was very entertaining.
*I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views and opinions expressed are completely honest, and my own.
We’re told not to judge a book by its cover, but with such an adorable cover, how can you not want to check it out? Don’t you love the cover?
I loved that each of the stories in A Match Made at Christmas are short and sweet. They can be read in a single sitting, and each story stands on its own. Each of the stories has such sweet characters finding love in unexpected and fun ways.
The theme of A Match Made at Christmas is matchmaking. We have a little boy, a sister, the Jingle Bell Committee, and the Christmas Wonderland employees. They’re all doing their part–however outrageously–to bring happily ever after to those they love. Of course, it helps to have a little Christmas magic.
One thing special about Christmas books is how over-the-top they can be and still work. With the state of airlines nowadays, I’m not sure how anyone could fly across the country as easily as the couple does in A-Parent-Ly Christmas, but it sure was fun reading their adventure.
If you’re looking for a Christmas read to get you in the mood, definitely check out A Match Made at Christmas.
Note: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. Opinions expressed are my own.

The Santa Setup. Nicholas and Julie have been friends since childhood and neither of them wants to ruin a good friendship. But the teen elves at Christmas Wonderland are conspiring against them.

Settle in with some cocoa and cozy throw because once you start reading these faith-filled, enchanting stories, you won’t want to stop! Ready to get into the Christmas spirit? These fun novellas are the perfect way to do so! All four involve mischievous matchmakers, from a child to an entire committee of older ladies, and much hilarity ensues in each story. I enjoyed watching each matchmaker work their Christmas magic on the unsuspecting couple, resulting in four happily-ever-afters in one book. A great read to start off the Christmas season!
I really enjoyed this Christmas story collection. All the authors are new to me, and are now on my radar to read more! Each story was sweet, romantic, and gave me all the feels! I really enjoyed these 4 novellas. The authors brought sweet Christmas romances to life. I enjoyed these quick reads while also feeling a depth of characters and storylines within. Well done.
