After the heart attack of their father, six siblings come back together in the small town of Refuge Falls to support and care for their parents. Noah, the oldest brother, and the prodigal son, comes home to discover that many resentments are in the wake of his eight years away.
Noah Armstrong didn't need to remember he'd left town eight years ago to run away from the past. He didn't need his siblings rubbing it in his face. And he really didn't need his father guilt tripping him by having a heart attack! Fine, he would come home and meet up to his family obligations. He would stay a week and do his 'duty.' But, that duty didn't include facing the very demons that had caused him to run eight years ago. He shouldn't have to do that. He WOULD NOT do that!
Ella Kind lost the only person she could truly rely on eight years ago; her twin brother. She has felt that loss every day of those eight years. She has never forgiven herself or anyone else for that loss. Why should she? It was her fault...and the fault of Noah Armstrong. It was his fault too and if she never sees him again, it will be too soon. Too bad she runs into him at the hospital after his father's heart attack and too bad ... she tries to console him. Why would she do that?
When Noah's nephew gets hurt and Ella is the one on the front lines of helping him ... things get complicated. Can the past be forgiven or will feelings buried down deep lead to more and more pain?
As six siblings reunite together, they must learn to let go of what doesn’t matter and cling to family, friends and the refuge their town always gave them.

A note from the author:
Thanks for visiting my Goodreads page.
I wanted to tell something meaningful about myself, but let's start with the important stuff--I love swoon-worthy heroes. The kind of heroes that are strong and would take a bullet for you, but also want to open your door and listen to you pour out your heart.
What else? I grew up moving. If you’ve read my books, you won’t be surprised by this. I have a lot of moving themes through my books centered around characters experiencing pain from someone moving.
It was hard. But, I believe there’s always a seed of good that comes out of everything hard, so I think the best thing that came from it was that I learned to love books.
And I had to learn a lot of mad skills on friend making. It gave me a love of people…good people, compassionate people. Interesting people of all kinds.
What else about me? I am a mother and wife! I have four amazing boys that are like little ninjas running around. I love them so much and I’m so grateful for my amazing husband who doesn’t get intimidated by all the billionaire men in my life.
I have a fierce love of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for Him and for the healing and forgiveness I’ve gotten to experience in my life. This is a theme in many of my books.
I love being an American. I am so proud of the men and women that support and preserve our freedom. This is another theme you will find in my books.
I am so grateful for my fans and for the support and love you all show me! Don’t stop reading!
I did love how this book talks about forgiveness. I think this genre should be more acknowledged.
I'd given it more stars, but there is some serious issues with the writing.
First, there was almost no description of the characters, other than Noah and his brothers being super blind. I never knew how Ella looked. What were their ages?
Second, the coherence of the characters actions and surroundings were funny. One moment Noah was driving and remembering stuff, and the next he was sitting in a barstool. Where was this barstool? Was he in his house? When did he get there? There were several times when I didn't know exactly where were the characters. It happened a lot.
Third and most important. This is a Christian book and I agree with forgiveness and everything said here, but I do not condone talking to dead people, Wich is actually called witchery in the Bible.
There was something very serious (as far as to call it heresy): "The Holy Spirit. I started crying. My brother was here, trying to show me I needed to forgive my mother." Ella says that er brother was there just after acknowledging that the Holly Spirit was with her. The scripture is so clear as to explain that dead people are dead and they sleep to wait judgment day. And if they are already in heaven, god most certainly do not let them come to earth!!! When we die, our knowledge of this earth is erased, we are only to praise God with no link to the commotion this world has.
So this is a big no no.
I thank Taylor Hart for writing Christian romance, but I think she should investigate and read a little more about such a delicate matter. This might be fantasy and fiction these characters are not real, but to mislead real readers into thinking that dead people are hearing us and around us goes so against what Jesus Christ taught us.
When his father suffers a heart attach, Noah Armstrong returns to Refuge Falls after 8 years away. He runs into Ella, his first love, at the hospital. Ella yells at Noah and tells him she can never forgive him for causing her twin brothers death. I love Noah's family and the big personalities in it. I love their faith and belief in God's timing. Ella has had a rough childhood, mostly raised by her grandmother. After her grandmother's death, Ella returns to Refuge Falls after 5 years in CA to live in the home her grandmother left her. When her home is broken into several times, Ella turns to the Armstrong family to protect her and help her find the culprit. This story has wonderful characters with the perfect blend of romance and suspense.
A wonderful second chance romance A touching story of recovery from the loss of his friend and her twin brother. Eight years ago in a horrible accident, Ella’s twin brother had lost his life when he requested Noah save her instead. Now both Noah and Ella have been plagued with guilt over that loss. Noah since he could only save one and Ella because she was saved. Noah had gone on to a career in the Marines and Ella had married. Now with a divorce for Ella and a family health emergency for Noah, they find themselves back in their home town. Their attraction is as strong as ever but the guilt and anger are a huge obstacle. Can family bonds be rebuilt and can Noah protect Ella from and unknown threat? I received an early copy and this is my honest review.
Great beginning of a new series by Taylor Hart. Noah is back in town because his dad had a heart attack. He usually only comes at Christmas, getting away from his security business is difficult, that’s his story anyway. Ella is also back working as a nurse at the hospital. Along with her twin brother, they used to be inseparable but that all changed eight years ago after her twin died in the accident. Someone is causing Ella unease but is it the local guy or the abusive ex husband? Can Ella forgive herself and Noah? God has a plan if we let go and let God. *I received this as an ARC reader and am leaving my unbiased review.
Taylor has written another heart felt Christian romance worthy of a prominent place in your home library. This book has all you expect from a great romance with a little extra.
Noah comes home after his father’s heart attack to do his duty as the oldest son and get out as soon as possible. He didn’t count on Ella and the old attraction raising its head again. Now he has to fix the past to claim his future.
I love how honest the emotions are written, the small town family connections, and thread of faith woven through the story. Excellent, encouraging story for this point in time. Love it.
Noah and Ella have a history, when they are thrown back together, can they over come the hurt and heal together? With Faith and forgivness, they can, but it is not an easy road. Taylor Hart likes to take hard subects and spin wonderful stories involving those challenges, it is always and enjoyable ride. This book starts off a series about a family and it does not dissapoint, makes you want to read the next one, but no cliff hangers so that you are left high and dry until the next one. Taylor gives you all the feels with this book and the subject of loss is handled so well, which isn't an easy feat. Great Book!!
Both of our MCs start this romance a bit rocky and it sounds like life has been that way for a few years. They have been through a lot with death and family issues. There is a bit of a temper on our heroine initially, and while we can explain it away, it just rubbed me a bit wrong. I didn’t immediately get sucked into this second chance romance the way I was wanting to. As it progressed I did settle in.
This is a Christian Contemporary romance with a line of suspense woven into it. It has second chances, a small town, plenty of family, and sets up the series very nicely.
I received an ARC of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I am excited for this new series by Taylor Hart, the Armstong family is going to be fun to read all their stories. This is Noah and Ella’s second chance story. They met as toddlers and dated as teens, they after a tragedy they both went their own ways for 8 years until they are both brought back to their small town of Refuge Falls. I enjoyed the faith of the characters and their power to forgive. This book had some suspense and twists and turns that surprised me and kept me wanting to read more. Great read don’t miss it.
A wonderful start to a new series! Noah Armstrong has been away from Refuge Falls for eight years. After learning his father had a heart attack, he returns to help his family through a difficult time. The plans are to stay a week then leave. Running into Ella Kind at the hospital was unexpected. Ella had also left town eight years earlier after losing her twin brother. She still blames herself and Noah Armstrong for her brother’s death. Will these two be able to forgive the past pain they have caused each other and look to a brighter future?
Noah hasn't been home for longer than a few days in the past 8 years. Now that his dad has had a heart attack, he is home for a week. At the hospital, he runs into Ella. They were high school sweethearts, but she broke up with him when her twin brother - and his best friend - was killed.
Ella has recently moved back to her hometown as a nurse. She blames Noah for her brother's death. As they navigate time together, they learn to forgive.
A good story on forgiveness. Ella had to forgive Noah and also herself for her brother's death.
I had an ARC for this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Ella is a nurse who recently returned to town and works at the hospital. She lost her brother eight years ago and can’t forgive herself or her friend, Noah Armstrong. When he comes back after his father’s heart attack, she must decide if she can find forgiveness. In the mean time someone keeps breaking into her house and leaving family pictures. This is an interesting and inspiring book about forgiveness, love, and family relationships
God says we are to forgive as God for Christ's sake hath forgive you. Not forgiving lets bitterness seep in and eat us up. It also makes it harder to have meaningful relationships with people. That is the lesson Ella and Noah learned in this story. There is a mystery also about someone possibly stalking Ella. This is an excellently written story that is beginning this new series. I received an advance copy and chose to write this review.
WOW! What a start to a new series. Guilty, regrets, misunderstandings, great love, a wonderful supportive large family (not perfect, but loving), a mystery and a few twists you’ll never see coming, all combine to make this a book you will not want to put down. Free of charge are a few words of wisdom that most of us can use. Healing isn’t easy, but it is necessary. I loved this book and look forward to the next one.
Great story. Ella has returned home to Refuge Falls after 8 years away. Running into Noah is an emotional shock. Will she ever be able to forgive both him and herself? So much happens that end up throwing them together a lot. Very emotional tale, I didnt want to stop reading. I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Home to You is a moving, Christian, second chance, romance about grief, forgiveness and God’s grace. I loved watching Noah and Ella heal from the past and renew their love. This well written book has a touch of suspense and a couple of twists that surprised this reader. It is awesome that Noah’s large family will provide characters for more stories set in Refuge Falls.
This is a sweet book about grief, forgiveness, and second chances. It’s inspirational and faith filled, and really emphasizes grace. God’s grace towards us, and how we need to give others, as well as ourselves, grace. There’s some suspense, which is resolved by the end of the book with a plot twist.
It took time and patience and lots of experiences, but finally Ella and Noah began to figure things out. I enjoyed how they communicated with each other and their families. I liked the excitement and the mystery. I liked the community members and their interest in the family. I can’t wait for the next installment in the series.
Ella and Noah's story was great. We all make mistakes and I love that in this book Ella realizes that she needs to forgive in order to move on and to be happy. I didn't want to put this book down. I would highly recommend this book! Taylor Hart is a great author and I would highly recommend any of her books !
I find it incredibly annoying when the description of the characters, especially something as basic as their hair color, doesn't match the images on the cover of the book. This was one of those times. There were other difficulties that kept me disengaged from the story as well.
I love the idea of a Christian romance book. The book started out strong for me, but went downhill when Ella went from practically hating Noah on one page, to forgiving him and wanting to marry him on the next page. I felt like so much was missing, and while usually I feel some books could be about 100 pages shorter, this book really could’ve been about 100 pages longer!

“Home to You: Sweet Second Chances” (Refuge Falls Small Town Romances, Book 1) by Taylor Hart A Sweet Read This was a very enjoyable second chance romance story with a touch of mystery and a bit of tragedy and a lot of love. I wish I had had an ‘Armstrong’ family in my life. Happy Reading ! !
What a story! So many emotional impacts and things for the characters to work through. I enjoyed the love that stayed with them through their grief. Abeautiful story showing the power of forgiveness.
Noah and Ella were great characters in this book. Just the right amount of romance and suspense to keep your interest high. The surprise break in was something I never expected. I promise if you read this book you will not be disappointed. It is excellent
This is a wonderful second chance story with lots of feels. Guilt is what tore Noah and Ella apart. Forgiveness is a large part of this story. Ella has a hard time forgiving Noah as well as herself. The plot is good and it flows well. I really enjoyed this book.
I love this story. It has you in a range of emotions. It's a great second chance at love and coming home. All of the characters were great and I loved the happily ever after. This is a sweet, clean romance.
What a very interesting story. Very enjoyable and exciting to read. Ella and Noah have had strong feelings for each other for a long time. A tragedy happened that separated them for eight years. Now you must read this book to know what happened.
I love the Armstrong family. They're awesome. Noah and Ella have quite the history. I enjoyed reading about their journey back to each other and God. This was a sweet second chance romance.
