This is quite an epic book, and it is well written, however it wasn't for me. Don't let that stop you reading it though. The story is about Bo, a policy officer who relocates to New Orleans due to a number of murders that hit close to home, and then the murders start again.
The characters are very well written, you get a sense of all of them. LB & Robin were my favourites because of the humour between the two of them. The forensic element and the legal elements were also all very good.
I read this book in 2015 and initially only gave it one star, however it stuck with me. I re-read it again 2020 and realised I was a bit harsh in my rating because although it's not my kind of book it is thoroughly researched.
The author has written a second book, and it would be interesting to see how it compares.

Story line predictable; pacing is erratice- the begining half spans a year or two and the second half only a few days. The setting is New Orleans, which is why I read it. Great descriptions. Weird combination of good (mentions of faith, God and bible verses) and evil (sadistic serial killer who kills brutally).

I really liked this book. The characters were well developed and I love Bo !! I didn't figure out the killer right away, which is always a bonus. I can't wait for the second book.

A some good twists. There was a character with loose ends.....maybe the second? Todd Murphy?
