Lorraine K. Lee’s Unforgettable Presence is hands-down the best career book I’ve read—and I’ve read my fair share! This book is a game-changer for anyone who wants to stand out, communicate with confidence, and build a professional brand that leaves a lasting impact.

What makes Unforgettable Presence so powerful is how practical and actionable it is. Lee doesn’t just offer vague advice—she gives you clear, strategic steps to actually build your presence and influence. From optimizing your LinkedIn profile to mastering the art of virtual communication, she walks you through exactly how to show up in a way that gets noticed (and remembered).

One of the biggest takeaways for me was the emphasis on crafting your career brand. Lee helps you get intentional about how you present yourself to the world—and how to make sure that presence aligns with your goals. Whether you're early in your career or already in a leadership role, the insights here are invaluable.

She also tackles something a lot of us struggle with: confidence. Her tools for becoming a more confident communicator are simple but incredibly effective. You’ll finish this book not only inspired, but ready to take real action to level up your career.

If you’re looking to get promoted, land opportunities, or just finally feel like people are seeing the value you bring—this book is for you. Lorraine K. Lee has created a blueprint for becoming unforgettable in the best possible way.

Whether you thrive in quieter settings or bring high-energy to your work, Lorraine Lee’s career positioning strategies offer immense value. Lorraine Lee tackles a universal career conundrum: you work hard, you get results—yet the spotlight never quite finds you. From the opening chapter, “Explore,” she reframes this challenge with visceral clarity, urging readers to shift mindset: presence is not a talent, but a skill. Then, in “Establish,” she lays out the tangible — define your career brand, master collaborative language, and elevate others to elevate yourself. It’s hard-hitting yet accessible — no fluff, just frameworks you can act on immediately

The third section, “Envision,” walks you through building a polished virtual and digital presence — from Zoom lighting to LinkedIn voice — an area she underscores as non-negotiable in today’s hybrid world . And when she discusses “Getting Promoted,” Lorraine doesn’t skate on clichés — she gives crisp advice on aligning visibility with career milestones, negotiation prep, and turning small wins into stepping stones. Her brevity here is genius: it’s punchy, strategic, and memorable.

In “Excel,” she zooms out to global career equity — shining a light on disparities faced by women and people of color. Her insights resonate with both empathy and urgency. Plus, her writing is refreshingly conversational — you feel as though she’s personally coaching you via an easy-listen tone and modular chapter design that’s made to be picked up in short bursts.

Who should read this?
Ideal for those just starting out—Lorraine gives you concrete steps to build mindset, presence, and early career momentum. But it’s equally powerful for mid-career professionals feeling stalled or contemplating a pivot — her “Getting Promoted” section is a goldmine. And in a world where digital presence is as critical as in‑person impact, this guide is prescient and practical.

Final verdict: ★★★★★
Lorraine Lee has crafted a career-accelerator that’s energetic, empathetic, and eminently usable. Unforgettable Presence isn’t just inspiring — it’s a blueprint. Lorraine, you’ve nailed it. I can’t wait to recommend this to my network and watch it become the go-to career manual on LinkedIn!

Executive presence is one of those elusive topics...everyone talks about it, but few can explain how to actually build it. 'Unforgettable Presence' finally makes it tangible. Lorraine K. Lee shares practical, actionable frameworks that show you exactly how to elevate your leadership brand and presence, both in the room and online. I especially appreciate how she addresses a reality so many women and POC face: being told they “lack presence” without clear guidance on what to do about it.

Her strategies are refreshingly specific, breaking executive presence down into simple habits you can start today. Paired with real stories from her own experience and leaders navigating similar challenges, the book feels like a mix of mentorship and playbook. I walked away feeling inspired and equipped.

I lead a community of Fortune 500 / high-growth startup leaders, and this is the first book on executive presence I recommend widely. It’s that actionable, relevant, and confidence-building for anyone looking to strengthen their presence and influence in today’s hybrid world.

Lorraine K. Lee was recently a guest on Zoom’s A Seat at the Table: Executive Book Club, where we hosted a two-part series centered around her book, "Unforgettable Presence". Our audience of IT executives found both sessions to be incredibly insightful, with practical strategies and takeaways that sparked great conversation and real reflection.

What stood out most is Lorraine’s approachable style and her ability to distill the nuances of executive presence and personal branding into actionable, real-world advice. This book is an excellent resource for anyone looking to elevate their professional presence and lead with authenticity and clarity.

Highly recommend for leaders at all stages of their career.

I really appreciated how Unforgettable Presence balances practical advice with real human experience. Lorraine K. Lee does not just talk about confidence and presence in theory. She breaks it down into clear steps you can actually apply. Her insights on authenticity, managing imposter syndrome, and learning to influence without over-preparing really hit home for me. It is a thoughtful and encouraging read, especially for those navigating leadership roles, public speaking, or career transitions. I will be coming back to this one often.

ironically, I found it somewhat forgettable. I read the whole thing, from a recommendation, and I find it hard to point out something specific that's not in other books on those topics.

Not original and found it repeating a lot of the other books I’ve read. I love personal development books but everything was just pulled from other big authors in the genre. Not recommend!
