I'm happy Gervais decided to revisit his "Flanimals" universe in another book of bizarre, silly, and witty creations.

This one has a nice poster inside it so naturally I immediately stuck it to the wall next to my desk to that in the future when I have a coding problem I shall take a deep breath and ask "wtf would this thing do if I were in my position"?

But yeah, good book.

The text is Just ok (too many made up words got tiresome, and lots of sad deaths) although the illustrations were fabulous.

One of my son's favorite series right now is the Flanimals series by Ricky Gervais. Of the books he's read, More Flanimals, is the one he likes best.

The first book introduced the Flanimals but left them pretty much as stand alone jokes. More Flanimals looks at their life cycle, food chain and evolution. Sean as a hobbyist monster creator loved reading about all these Flanimal factoids.

There is some gross out humor in the book and some other jokes that went over his head (thankfully). That said he and I do like the series and would like to own the complete set some day.

The nonsense words are a ton of fun, but honestly it starts feeling too long after a while and I at least got tired of everything having gruesome lives/deaths. There was also a particular remark in regards to evolution (and I did like how it was a fun nonsensical intro to evolution in a way) that rubbed me the wrong way (scientists being clever, creationists being dumb). I'm not by any means a creationists, but being a creationist doesn't mean you're a stupid person, and I have found you're more likely to move someone's opinions with understanding and logic than insults.

You may need to do some mouth exercises before you start reading this story. It is filled with tongue twisters created from made-up words, but has good language development words like evolution and behavior. The story also is a great for pointing to body parts, but gives different names fot them. Fore example, feet are floor flaps, legs are jump stems, and your fingers are your articulated grab sticks. Kindergarten and first grade students could use this as a story starter for writing.
