"The truth is that of all created things, I am most fond of you."
The ruler of the Primordial Godhead – Theos’ D’Or, is the creator of the universe. He is life itself. He has one desire – a mate he has been waiting for since he set time into motion.
Haera Raehn is a battered, rogue werewolf, with a past that has left the snow of her province stained with her blood. She has one goal – stay on guard; stay safe.
The Third Member of the Primordial Godhead, Kheos Dhamma, is the roiling, burning scourge of destiny that mortals fear and despise. He has one job – to ensure the success of the love of the gods.
Theos and Kheos have been at each others’ throats for eternity. When Kheos’ angry indifference suddenly melts into worried concern about Haera’s safety, Theos can’t tell if it’s a new attempt to take his throne, or a genuine attempt to help. By the time he discerns his brother’s true intentions, it may be too late.
Destined to be a writer, Azalea Valaine thrived in her creative journey even after watching her mother burn her stories and journals over the stove when she was a little girl.
Now twenty-four years old and more determined to write than ever, her appetite for the taboo and strange rage like wildfire. Every story she curates hosts a scintillating core, both deranged and beautiful. She writes dark romantic fantasy and dark romantasy novels that are immersive, provocative and diverse. Her work explores religion, sexuality, abuse, and family, and cleaves through the reader’s soul like a silent scythe.
As a reader, Until I Have Healed You was unlike anything I’ve picked up before. Azalea Valaine crafts a dark and intense world filled with gods, mortals, and the tangled fates that bind them together. The story’s tone is unapologetically raw, diving into themes of power, trauma, and redemption with an almost brutal honesty.
The dynamic between Theos, Kheos, and Regos is one of the highlights of the book. Their sibling rivalries feel deeply personal, yet their battles have universe-shattering consequences. Theos, in particular, stands out as a character—both godly and flawed, embodying life and destruction in equal measure. The intricate world-building, complete with maps and unique terminology, immerses you fully, though it can sometimes feel overwhelming with the sheer amount of detail.
That said, this book isn’t for the faint of heart. The content warnings are there for a reason, and the graphic depictions of violence and non-consensual elements were difficult to read at times. However, these scenes aren’t there for shock value; they serve to deepen the story’s exploration of pain and healing.
At its core, this book is about resilience. While the darkness is heavy, the moments of light shine even brighter. It’s the kind of book that stays with you, challenging your comfort zone and leaving you pondering long after you’ve finished. If you’re a fan of dark fantasy with moral complexity and emotional depth, this might just be the book for you.
I love love this books so much. I love the world that the author has created. The first 20 % was slow , she was building up the character and their story which I love. But when they meet. I was obsessed with them since their meet. I love Theos and Haera since start. I love her in interaction with his brothers, the other gods. I love this story so much and I want more of it 😭. I literally cried for what happened with Haera. I love her healing journey with Theos and how he helped her heal. He was so sweet. I love him.
As with any fantasy book the first few chapters were a bit overwhelming getting familiar with the world. After the first 30% I fell absolutely in love with these characters. Bless there were many times I was so angry with the three brothers and how they interacted. Cocky and just so infuriating but I loved them anyways. Talk about a slow burn! Definitely some back and forth with the FMC as she slowly gets to know her mate and heals. I’ve never had soemthing so relatable in the healing process and how it’s not linear.! Beautifully written!
**Thank you so much to Swipe the book and Azalea Valaine for the ARC
“Until I Have Healed You” is a complicated book to review. It is by far the best case of why tropes are sometimes very misleading to the detriment of the book itself. It all feels so small right now after having read the book. This is a journey through healing and processing trauma.
When I say this is a complicated book, it’s because it lives outside of what we would consider a regular plot. It does have a beginning, middle, and end but there’s nothing here that is what we traditionally consider a plot point.
This is a slow read with an extremely slow burn. This is not for readers who want a quick-paced story. The beginning is at least 100 pages of build-up to the actual beginning of the story of what I would consider the first act, but as soon as the book hits those 20% we get full speed ahead with Haera appearing.
Since this is a first book I understand perhaps the need to elaborate more on the worldbuild and the build-up, especially the backup story between the brothers: Theos, Kheos, and Regos. I'm not sure if some readers will be discouraged when first starting. If you are, don’t give up! It gets really good after the introduction of the World.
Theos, literally God, has instructed Kheos to find his mate and keep her until one day he’d find her. When he finds Harea she is being attacked again by her old pack. She has been outcasted by her pack, forced to survive on her own, still processing her trauma after being SA. Azalea has done a terrific job portraying Harea as a victim of SA since she finds herself intensely guilty for having gotten pleasure from the act. That was a point I found incredibly interesting because it can happen. We see her navigating the remorse she has because she felt her body betrayed her. This is something that is not explored often in books because I think nowadays readers are more focused on judging taboo themes, and how the author has written the scene and while we never saw it directly, we have Harea’s POV of the SA. She feels disgusted with herself for allowing it. It can happen that a woman can find pleasure in SA but we are always led to believe that that is not possible and Harea’s description and thoughts of her assault are very moving.
Theos needs to heal Harea not only physically but mostly in mind. She is a person who has been neglected by everyone. The people she believes are her friends betray her, her own family turn their back on her and she believes the Gods answer to no one. Theos needs to convince Harea that she is worthy of everything. She is worthy of good. She is worthy of love. She needs to be worshipped. And Theos will show her that. She is worthy of the love of a God and will be worshipped by millions.
Apart from the slow start, I think “Until I Have Healed You” handles trauma exceptionally well. Theos is a God who could not control the life of his mate and in the process, she has suffered beyond imaginable. Her voice is extremely sad in a lot of chapters, almost heartbroken for everything she has been through. Theos is the first person who does not give up on her and keeps healing her until she accepts that her life can be one of happiness. It is a beautiful story.
NOTE: I read the smut scenes will probably be removed or perhaps the second book will be smut-free and I am totally fine with that. The scenes were pretty good, the author no longer identifies with those scenes and that’s ok but I also believe when we explore such dark themes we may need something else to have some relief, especially on such bigger books. Smut is a good way to give the reader a bit of a rest of all the darkness surrounding it, so I hope that if the author remains smut-free (which she should, if she no longer cares for that) the next book will at least have some happiness, some hope throughout the novel.
This book swept me into a tale of cosmic love, trauma, and healing—a breathtaking romance between a literal God and a werewolf fated to be together. The concept of fated mates has always been fascinating, but pairing a God with a mortal werewolf? That’s a next-level trope I didn’t know I needed!
Haera, our FMC, is a beautifully written character. Her vulnerability stands out in a genre where many characters bottle up their emotions. Despite everything she has endured—losing her father and suffering at the hands of her ex-alpha Zyadon—Haera opens her heart to Theos, and that courage is so commendable. Her honesty about her pain and willingness to let Theos in was refreshing and added so much depth to her character.
And let’s talk about her wolf form! Haera is an entirely different force of nature—a fierce, powerful, and unapologetic badass. I loved how her wolf form showcased her strength and resilience, even when her human self was weighed down by trauma.
Theos, the God of Creation, is another highlight of this book. His grumpy, possessive nature, paired with his unshakable love for Haera, created such a fascinating dynamic. Watching him navigate the delicate balance of his overwhelming emotions while respecting Haera's healing process was both heartbreaking and heartwarming. The slow-burn romance between them is so intense it had me holding my breath during many scenes.
The story begins with the rich mythology of Theos and his brothers—Kheos, the God of Fate, and Regos, the God of Death. While it starts slow, the world-building is immersive and sets the stage for the epic battle of love and loyalty that follows. Once the pace picks up, it’s an emotional rollercoaster filled with heartbreak, healing, and redemption.
This isn’t just a romance; it’s a deeply human story wrapped in a paranormal fantasy. The moments of vulnerability, paired with intense love and healing, will resonate long after you’ve finished the book.
Content Warning: The story deals with heavy themes, including SA and trauma. Please check the content warnings before diving in.
Recommended For: If you’re a fan of fated mates, slow-burn romances, or gods-meet-werewolves stories with an emotional edge, this one is for you. It’s a captivating read and one of the best I’ve picked up this year!
Final Thought: I can’t wait for the sequel—Haera and Theos’s story is one I’ll carry with me for a long time. This is a perfect blend of heartbreak, healing, and hope.
Imagine A God who created the entire Universe and its beings was deprived of knowing his lover. A lover created by God of fates. The story begins with rivalry between three brothers(Three important Gods).Theos-The Creator, Kheos-The fates and Regos-The God of Death and ends with a fight between them and Theos becoming the King. The story then skips to the current century when we find the rivalry of the three brothers has reached a point where they despise each other and Theos being grumpy and angry after waiting for his lover for centuries.
After all the fights and waiting when Kheos finally revealed the identity of Theos mate , she was discovered in a horrible situation making Theos break his own rules.
Haera a werewolf forced to become rogue was suffering from endless running and hiding from shadows. She had no one except her best friend who promised her to take her away from her ex pack.
This story is about a God falling in love with a fated Mortal. How the God will react knowing how his mate was violated and whether he will accept her and heal her or discard her is what this story is about.
(My Opinion)
This story will be of the creation of universe ,destruction and healing again. This book deals with heavy themes including SA. A trauma and healing. Please read the Content Warning.
It is a Slow paced Romance with scenes that will heal your heart .
Have you seen a God losing their control because they are so much in love and unable to touch their partner!! 😉
But there will be scenes that will break your heart. Our female lead is not weak but will be broken to a point of no healing.
You might find it really slow in the beginning but once the story gradually moves you will start loving it.
I have given it a 4 ⭐ because sometimes I found chapters which were unnecessary but rather than that it was one of the best reads of this year.
I recommend it to everyone who loves a slow paced open book rwith Gods into Werewolf Romance.
Note: THIS BOOK IS RELEASING ON 22ND NOVEMBER, PLEASE SHOW LOVE TO THIS BOOK AND THE AUTHOR 💓
Everything the storyline, the plot, the characters, the spice, the way characters are represented in the book and the way author has described them is so beautifully written. 😍
The concept of the book in itself is so unique & memorable at the same time that it left me mesmerized. The storyline development is what I loved the most, the twists, the struggles, and the journey of healing represented in the book is so well written 👌🏻
Don't even get me started about the characters. I'm so in love with Theos & HIS brothers! There is this suspense surrounding them and it keeps you hooked. And there relationship dynamics are so interesting at the same time. And THEOS, the man his is!! I was so mesmerized by the level of consideration he put into his bond but still paved through the struggles presented to them someway or the other. ❤️
Our FMC, Haera, DAMNNN she is so strong throughout the book. I'm beyond impressed with her character arc and how her healing journey is represented. The struggles, the betrayal, everything is so transformational and so deeply connected in the book. 🤌🏻🥺
And the whole focus surrounding around the mate bond is so beautiful described & well thought off. The emotions, the heat between them is so alluring in a way that left me feeling blissful. 😩
Also do give the book tropes a read, I'm pretty sure you'll love it more.🤭
Overall, this book is beautifully written and definitely captivating and if you like fantasy and werewolves, this one is for you! 😌
Thank you Swipe The Book PR for providing me the opportunity to ARC read this beautiful book. I'm beyond grateful for the same. 💜💜💜
Wow, just wow!! This book is an absolute masterpiece—an unforgettable, breathtaking romance between a god and a mortal, set against the backdrop of the creation of the universe, destruction, and the healing that follows. Have you ever imagined a god so deeply in love that they lose control, unable to touch their partner? This story will make you feel that tension, and the emotional depth is unparalleled. Everything about this book is perfect!
The story kicks off with a fierce rivalry between three brothers—Theos, the creator; Kheos, the god of fate; and Regos, the god of death. As time passes, their once strong bond disintegrates, and we find Theo, the grumpy king, still waiting for his destined mate, ever since he set time into motion. Watching him struggle to control his emotions while Haera undergoes her healing process is both heartwarming and heartbreaking.
Haera is a fierce, battered rogue werewolf, marked by a past that has left the snow of her province stained with her blood. Her only goal: stay on guard and stay safe. Haera isn’t your typical timid heroine—she’s a warrior reborn from fire. I loved how the author portrayed the two sides of her: her werewolf self, which embodies her strength, and her human side, burdened by past trauma. The slow-burn romance between her and Theo is so intense and consuming, it had me holding my breath through every page.
The way the author handles sensitive topics with such care, especially Haera’s healing journey, made me weep. The book isn’t just a romance; it’s a powerful exploration of vulnerability, where love and healing intertwine in the most profound way. It’s a must-read for any fantasy fan out there!
I'm a light-hearted romance reader. I rarely read emotional and intense reads. And this is my first fantasy book that I have read — and that too about a God and a mortal falling in love.
I fell in love and I was intrigued by the book when I saw the dedication. I was like, man, this book has to be something because the dedication was so good. It was so unique and it was so badass. I was like, Oh my god, I have to read this book.
I gotta be honest, at the start, I felt that I should not read the book. At the start, I was like, I think this is not for me. Even after seeing the warning mentions, I was like, maybe I should drop the idea of reading it because it's genuinely so different from what I usually read. It has everything that I have never read before.
But then I didn't sleep at night thinking that I had given up on reading just by seeing the warning mentions. So I was up all night reading the book — and the book, oh my god. The first 20% was slow and it needs some time — it seriously needs some time for you to get into the book and understand what's happening because it's all new. But when it started — oh my god, what a book it was.
I just want to say, don’t give up on reading the book in the beginning, because you’ll lose the opportunity to read such a fabulous story. I love the siblings' rivalry, the dynamics, and the bond that Hera shared with Theo’s brothers — it was so good. The way Theo helped Hera in her healing journey, the way he loves her — it was so good. I was obsessed with them. More likely, I was obsessed with Theo from the start. The hero he is.
I love the idea of fated mates, but never have I read one between a literal god & a werewolf <3
One of the things I loved about the FMC (Haera) was her vulnerability. Despite her trauma–dealing with her father's death & her ex-alpha's(Zyadon) assault–she opened up to her mate (Theos) and it was so commendable. I often read a lot of books where FMCs would shut down or bottle up their emotions (which I understand, everyone deals with grief and pain in different ways) but it was so refreshing to see someone share their troubles with someone they care about. And I love the complete transformation in her demeanor when she's in her wolf form! A total badass!
Theos was a complex character imo. At first I was a bit annoyed with how he treated his little brothers, Kheos (The Fates) & Regos (Death) in the beginning. But through Haera he was able to change his ways and form a better relationship with them 🤧 then I was like okay 👀 loving this improvement for you.
LISTEN I HAD A HUGE SOFT SPOT FOR KHEOS SINCE HE WAS FIRST INTRODUCED! and his relationship with Haera (who he CREATED!) warmed my heart 🥺 he deserves all the love okay.
Oh! & I absolutely loved the terms of endearment Theos gave Haera: little mate of mine, little star ⭐
One of my favorite parts was when Zyadon & her ex-bff (Alanis) got what they deserved 😌 I could NOT believe Alanis would betray her like that smh

Until I Have Healed You is a dark fantasy that dives deep into sibling bonds, the complexities of love, and the journey of healing. I honestly fell in love with this book and the world the author created—it just pulled me in completely.
The story starts with the rivalry between three brothers—Theos, Kheos, and Regos. In the beginning, the world-building felt a little heavy, but once Haera entered, everything changed.
Theos didn’t know anything about his mate, yet he waited for her because his brother told him to. His brother knew where she was, but whenever Theos asked about her, he just ignored him or mocked him .Will Theos and Haera unite or not? You’ll have to read this to find out.
Haera is such a beautiful character. I adored her, and the way she was mourning felt so real and relatable. Then there’s Theos, the creator of the world, who waited billions of years just for her. He’s protective in such a tender way—even asking her permission before touching her—and that made their bond feel so much more special. The character dynamics overall are just so well done.
I’ll admit, the language was a bit challenging at first, but once I settled into the rhythm, it flowed perfectly.
All in all, this book is such a gem. If you’re into fated mates, gods meeting werewolves, and a slow-burn romance that keeps tugging at your heart, then you need to read this.
"The truth is that of all created things, I am most fond of you." This line captures the heart of Until I Have Healed You, a story so breathtaking that I’m still reeling from its beauty!
Theos’ D’Or, the creator of the universe, embodies life itself, and his yearning for a mate is as eternal as the cosmos. Haera Raehn, a rogue werewolf with a past steeped in pain, stole my heart with her strength and vulnerability. And then there’s Kheos Dhamma—the fiery, enigmatic Third Member of the Primordial Godhead, whose unpredictable nature keeps you on edge.
The dynamic between Theos and Kheos was fascinating—an eternal clash of wills interwoven with moments of startling tenderness and brotherly tension. And Haera? She is the glue that binds this celestial drama, with her resilience serving as a beacon in the storm of divine rivalry.
The writing is vivid, the stakes are high, and the emotional depth of this story is unparalleled. It’s a tale of gods, mortals, and love that defies the boundaries of time and space.
I loved every moment of this book—its rich world-building, gripping tension, and heartfelt moments that left me teary-eyed. This is a must-read for fans of high-stakes fantasy and romance. I can't recommend it enough! 💫
I can't believe I just completed a fantasy book! I met every character in this story and utterly fell in love with everyone and everything. The bond between the three brothers—Theos, Kheos, and Regos—is far from perfect, yet the thought of losing one another is unbearable for them. Each brother carries out his duties to keep the universe running, and it was powerful to see both the heartwarming and the cruel sides of what it means to be fair to everyone as Gods.
This book also follows the journey of Haera- a mortal werewolf and the eldest brother’s soulmate. Even though she is destined for Theos, her path is filled with trials and suffering long before they even meet.
This book has a special place in my heart because it was incredibly endearing to see Theos asking for permission—sometimes even begging—before he touched his soulmate. It showed that even Gods honor consent and respect their women. The dialogues, the comfort he offered, and the tenderness with which he handled her trauma were all magnificently written. I cannot wait to continue this series!
If you’re a fantasy lover and haven’t picked this up yet, you’re definitely missing out!

Okay… Until I Have Healed You by Azalea Valaine was a ride 😮💨. This book is dark, heavy, and definitely not a quick read, but wow it pulled me in.
Haera broke my heart from the start—she’s scarred, lonely, and just trying to survive. Then there’s Theos, this creator god who’s been waiting forever for his mate, and their connection?? Messy, intense, and addictive. And don’t even get me started on Kheos 👀—protective one second, suspicious the next. He kept me guessing the whole time.
Not gonna lie, the pacing is slow. It took me a while to get into, but once I did, I was hooked on the world-building and how raw the characters felt.
⚠️ Heads up: the author does give detailed content warnings (and please read them!). This story gets graphic and very dark, but it’s also about healing, and that balance hit hard.
My rating - 3.5/5
If you like your romantasy with gods, werewolves, trauma, love that cuts deep, and world-shaking stakes—this one’s worth the time.
And best part? Book 2 is coming soon so we’re not done yet 🙌 And yes—it’s on Kindle Unlimited, so you can dive in anytime.
Big thanks to Azalea Valaine and Swipethebook PR for giving me the opportunity to read this book!!
Fated mates Slow burn Werewolf x Immortal Shared bond Starlight x Sunlight Zeus & Hera retelling Sibling rivalry Multiple POVs 5.5” x 7.4” He would destroy the universe for her 3rd person.
What would you do if you said a prayer to hide your feelings about a man and said man was the god prayers went to? Die of shame.
Well… It was a slow build. The first few chapters. I almost DNF’d but I got through it. Don’t give up, it’s a beautiful book. The plot was gorgeous. It got better, when they met it just clicked and flowed. After everything she had been through, there was no one else meant for her but him and no one else meant for him but her. There was one part in the book (when you understand the title) that made me cry. The love between them was so beautiful.
I know the author said she would change parts of the book. Totally support her decision to do so. The book is and will still be amazing in its own right.
Check TW. Some parts got dark. Heavy themes in this book.
First of all, thank you so much for letting me read and read and review this wonderful book Azalea Valaine and Swipethebookpr. I am so glad I applied for the ARC.
The storyline of this book was so unique. I have never read anything quite like it. It was perfect from the plot to the characters to the spice to the twists. Definitely a page turner.
The longing and trauma and the collision and healing makes it all the more great. The characters in this book are so strong and all have their own unique identity.
And it was remarkable to see the amount of consideration Theos put in his bond and paved the way through the struggles. And Haera is such a strong person, it's astounding.
I am impressed with the book and the story. Definitely worth your time!
What a world Azalea has built!! Honestly my thoughts and feelings are all over the place but in the best way possible. Okay first you have to TRUST the process, in the beginning the author is building up the world and the background and setting up the foundation of the story- I get that now but while reading it it confused me and I almost didn't continue, the new language introduced, the flow of the story was jarring but if you continue I promise you won't be disappointed.
This story is EVERYTHING and I fell so hard for Theos and Haera and their journey.
A Dark romantasy about Haera, a rogue werewolf fated to be with Theos an immortal God that created the universe. AHHHHH these two are explosive!
Shifting & Hunting Knotting SA trauma rep Zeus & Hera retelling Fated Mates Slow burn Biastophilia Hurt & Comfort Black FMC rep He destroys the universe to save her
This book had me hooked! The tropes alone—fated mates, slow burn, werewolf x immortal, shared bond, and starlight x sunlight dynamics completely drew me in. Along with this add sibling rivalry, multiple POVs, and a love so powerful he would destroy the universe for her, and it’s everything I could ever want in a story.
Theos D’Or, the ruler of the Primordial Godhead, has waited for his mate since time began. Haera Raehn, a rogue werewolf with a haunting past, is his perfect match. Their bond is heart-wrenching and healing all at once. I adored their slow-burn journey and how Theos patiently helped Haera heal from her trauma.
The tension between Theos and Kheos, his brother, added layers of conflict and intrigue. The worldbuilding was phenomenal, and I loved the author’s ability to weave such raw emotions into the story. This is a must-read for fans of deep, emotional fantasy romance.
Creation myth, gods and werewolves, incredible prose, a love story, spicy spice, trauma, healing, character growth, and so much more. I wasn’t sure what I was getting in to when I started reading the warnings and definitions included at the start of this book but I was intrigued and wooooow did this deliver.
The emotional journey this book takes you on is intense and I loooooved it.
As I started reading I was like oh, this is different, fascinating, what an incredible world. I got lost in the prose and the visuals and the flow. When the plot shifted to Haera and it became more grounded and visceral and earthy and primal and the two narratives blended I was rapt and as they ran side by side until the two plot lines wove in to one I was just impressed.
Very cool story, very inventive, very unique, outside of my comfort zone and I loved every moment I spent with these characters and this universe.
Until I have healed you is a mixture of a bit of Greek mythology and supernatural power. I really didn't think it was even a possibility but the author nailed it. Beginning with theos the ruler of the god's fight with his brother kheos god of fates and Regos god of death. It was a bit confusing for me initially but it sat well later on. Because it was such an amazing world building that she did there. The dynamics between the characters are very well done And I loved the FMC. The way she was mourning and suffering was somehow very relatable to me as she was bottling her emotions up. And the way she ever so sweetly sharye it with her mate is great too. I think the title made very much sense after reading it. I love how they were meant to be and proved that they were so. And her transformation from her mourning sessions. The sibling relationships too were great. I really hope all of you would grab a copy of this.
Wow... this book shattered me and then slowly stitched me back together. Dark, intense, and hauntingly beautiful - it's not the kind of story you fly through. It's the kind you feel, page by page, even when it hurts.
Haera stole my heart. A girl so broken yet so strong. And Theos?? A god who waited forever for his mate their bond is messy, raw, magnetic. The push-and-pull between them had me hooked. And then there's Kheos... unpredictable, dangerous, addictive chaos. I couldn't get enough.
! Trigger warnings are real here - violence, trauma, dark themes. But at its core, this book is about love, healing, and finding light in the middle of all that darkness. And that message hit hard.
If you love slow-burn romance with gods, broken characters, and a love that feels like it could crack the world open, this one is so worth it. And with Book 2 on the way... let's just say I'm not ready to let go yet
I wanted to drop a lil review to say: Thank you for reading my debut! For everyone who comes across this review, I appreciate you.
If you are here, trying to decide whether to read this book or not, I'll say this:
🪐This book is marketed as a dark romantasy for a reason. ✨The reason is that it contains dark, graphic themes. 🪐I took the time to curate a detailed Content Warning and detailed Scene Breakdowns, that are BOTH at the start of the novel, for a reason. ✨It's so you can make informed decisions about what and how to read, and if you want to proceed.
At the end of the day, I can't tell you what to read or not to read, but you can't say you weren't adequately warned!
Cheers, and happy reading! 🪐✨ See you all in Book Two! 🏴☠️🖤
"This was kind of beautiful. Definitely check your triggers bc there was times i thought i might stop reading. But i pressed on & in glad i did. (I’m in no way saying push past your triggers. I know my limits & bounds, you should know yours too). I love how the story started to pick up a lil bit towards the middle of the book. I love theos & haera. Their story is on for overcoming trauma & finding peace in life, peace after trauma, peace in love. I loved it. I’m wondering if there will be a second one bc it lowkey ended on a cliffhanger. Fav quoted: “Always, forever.” “My favorite color was blue, & now it’s you.” “Death is preferable in any case.” “To the king over everything…” “to the queen of our Hearts..” & “to the Prince of Darkness..” “Until i have healed you.” " - written in #booklyapp
The Zeus/ Hera retelling gives us the Zeus we deserved… because the stories of him are … generally disheartening. This one is grand. Kheos is the universes creator looking for his fated mate. Haera is a werewolf who has been dealt a hard hand and is surviving in harsh conditions. Then they collide and it’s a battle from there.
Author Azalea Valaine gave us a heart wrenching story of survival, hardships, familial disconnect all within a harsh unyielding world. We see the struggles of both mortals and gods and how the two species exist to fulfill the other.
I will say, read tw to ensure this story is for you. For me, a black werewolf who is destined to a primordial god is a fantasy for me. Like so often we see in mythology though, it isn’t an easy road and take your mental health seriously.
If I could add more stars to this brilliant, masterful Romantasy debut novel, I would. Even Theos would be proud of how many stars I would like to add.
Wow. Just wow. The details, the illustrations, the gorgeous world of Theos and Haera put on paper by Azalea has left me breathless, speechless and awestruck.
She has woven such clear images that it was watching a movie while reading the book. Incredible writing.
There are trigger warnings at the start to help you decide whether you want to proceed for your mental well being and Kudos for being so detailed in that. This book is meant for adults.
I have an omnipresent sky high TBR list but I would love to read this book again, to escape to this fantastical world of 'Until I Have Healed You'.
Had a great time reading this! The story dives deep into some heavy but fascinating themes like a god’s love for his creations, dealing with trauma, building trust, and exploring different kinds of love and bonds. The concepts were great, and I loved how layered everything felt.
The characters were definitely a highlight. Each one stood out with their unique mix of love, power, and emotions. My absolute favorite was Kheos, the God of Fate—he’s such a complex and intriguing character, and I couldn’t get enough of him.
That said, there were a few things I didn’t love. The descriptions got a bit repetitive at times, and the long monologues sometimes dragged. I also felt like the main character’s interactions and relationships didn’t always hit the mark, and the chemistry wasn’t as strong in some parts as I hoped.
Overall, it's a great read. If you’re into slow burn romantasy with a touch of the divine, this one’s worth checking out!
One of the most unique stories I have read in a hot minute, and in the best way possible. This was such a dark world with dark characters.
The story really focuses on trauma, redemption, and how power integrates into everything.
It was a bit difficult to get into just because of how different the story is, but once I understood things more I could not stop reading until I finished. There were maps, terminology I have never seen before, all to create a complex world.
I loved the moments of hope and resilience, especially in such a dark world. I loved how Theos helped Haera heal, after everything she went through.
