I'm really sorry - but this wasn't good. I feel bad for saying it.

It's a step-sibling noncon. There's sex, and it's not good sex. There's no flow and no consistency to the story. It's def not dark - I mean besides him saying he drowned Mrs. Abernathy's cat - which is a stupid thing to add to a story. It also didn't make sense that she's crying out his name while she's masturbating, but then calls him a freak and says she doesn't want anything to do with him.

It's just bad. Two pity stars.

this was primal, quick, taboo, dirty, and forbidden ❤️ i loved it !! for all my halloween night and ghostface lovers … just read this. i lowkey wish it was a bit longer. i loved seeing how unhinged malik is. he literally doesn’t let anyone touch him or her. todd ?? LOLOLOL !!! my depraved mind wanted more of that scene.

Mae K. Knight brings a 48-page Dark Halloween step-sibling short story. What I love about this author’s writing is that I'm one hundred percent invested, though it’s a short story. I know what to expect and expect no more. It’s dark. There’s very detailed shmut. Malik wants his step-sister Jackie and no one, including her Halloween date, to have her. Malik goes to extremes to make sure he gets what he wants. I’m a big fan.

I can't express enough please read warnings for this book! This book is dark, twisted, taboo. It is a very short read that you will either love or hate lol.. I know it's just a book so it doesn't bother me but it's one that won't sit well with everyone. If you don't have triggers or books don't bother, and you don't mind a taboo short than this is for you!

Catch Me, Freak was a great short and steamy read. Malik and Jackie are step siblings that are going to a Halloween party and things get hot and intense between the two of them. This was my first time reading a book by Mae K. Knight and I absolutely loved it. I’m looking forward to reading more books by her in the future!

This was a great short read. I read it one sitting. I needed to know what happened. If you love masked men, obsession, and step siblings this has it. Perfect for a Halloween read. An obsession that has grown over time and has finally boiled over. Malik finally takes the step to having Jackie in this spicy short read. Spice is definitely a 5.

I get it was a short story with no plot, but I wanted just a bit more about the characters. I am glad they are continuing with the series, though.

You are telling me, there is a decent form of a plot in a 50 page novella? Even if character driven, I did not expect as much movement in the story since it is such a short read so I was pleasantly surprised.

Catch Me, Freak is a dark romance that is slightly tåbøø (between step-siblings) where the MMC goes hunting on Halloween night to capture the innocent FMC. His plan is to fulfill his fantasy while the parents are away, and she is at a party look for just the right amount of 'fun'. Nothing will stop him from taking from his sister, and she can't escape him even if she tried.

I honestly would have been happy is this was even a longer book because I enjoyed the set up and the characters. Even if the FMC was innocent, the book wasn't super annoying about it, which is my preferred choice if we have an inexperienced FMC.

Definitely would have some triggers for some, so make sure to read the triggers before hopping in the book. I don't have any triggers I realized at this point, so I always go in blind. If you are like me, by all means, go in with no warnings and you will be just fine. I would consider this a light grey book, with maybe a dash of medium, but definitely not super dark.

If you're in the mood for the spooky season and have an hour to spare, this is a great little spicy read 💛🎃💛

On boy this quick dirty story was perfect for this time of year. This book is short but very spicy and I had a great time. Malik and Jackie are step siblings who are stand offish. Well they seem that way but both of them have their own secrets. Jackie is going to her friends Halloween party and since her parents are going to be out
of town her older step brother is chaperoning. She thinks he's weird and a freak. Jackie is determined to have fun despite her weird brother tagging along. A masked man pays her a visit in the bathroom and that is just the beginning of a wild night. Malik keeps his distance from his step sister when others are around. When he is alone though he is able to indulge in his taboo obsession. Jackie has no idea the extent Malik will go. He decides this Halloween party is the perfect opportunity to make Jackie his. Talk about spicy! This was such a steamy read and I really enjoyed reading it. It was taboo and dirty and I ate it up. Jackie is definitely a brat and who better to tame her than her freaky older step brother. Malik is unhinged, obsessed, and manipulative. He's basically a walking red frag. I would recommend this book if you are looking for a quick Halloween novella with taboo spice, primal play, manipulation, masked MC, dirty talk, and steamy scenes only the wickedly naughty would enjoy.

Catch Me, Freak is definitely well-written (and spicy). I devoured every single word of it.

The story revolves around the stepsiblings Malik and Jackie.
When Jackie decides to lose her V-card at a Halloween party, Malik must claim her for himself. What Jackie doesn’t know is that her psychopathic stepbrother has been stalking her for a long time and has something very special planned for the Halloween party…

Author Mae K. Knight delivers again! What really impressed me was how much plot the author managed to fit into these barely 50 pages. A short story with plenty of spice that leaves you craving more. I can’t wait for the next part of Jackie and Malik’s story.

This is a quick read at under 50 pages. It's entertaining to read this time of year as it takes place Halloween night. This novelette has taboo and or forbidden themes because the characters are stepsiblings. Is Malik a freak? 🤷‍♀️ Malik definitely knows what he wants and isn't afraid to go to extreme lengths to accomplish it. Malik is a stalker, masked man, and rough (in all ways). What Malik wants is Jackie, his stepsister. Malik is going to bring Jackie's secret fantasies to life, willingly or not. Malik won't ever be repent. This is short, so don't expect a deep plot and depth. I do wish it was longer so the ending could be more resolved. For me, there were some areas left unresolved. For example their parents reaction and Jackie's boyfriend. This novelette is more for fun, spice, and Halloween.

This book was crazy and quick, but a wild and delicious ride.

It was fun and it made me feel like I may be a little sick in the head, especially that I enjoyed it, but hey, I don't get to choose what I enjoy. I just enjoy what I stumble across. And I am so glad I stumbled upon this dark, irresistible read.

It was so quick to read, I finished the whole thing before I went to work this morning. It was fast and fun and definitely made me question my sanity.

But the kinks in here were fun and though non-con was used, both parties did want it to happen. Which is how I love my non-con.

3.5 stars. This novelette is short and packs a punch from page 1. It is dark and quite taboo - read the trigger warnings at the beginning. Knight doesn't sugarcoat those warnings so if you don't think it's for you, then don't read it.

That being said, I could handle the content with those warnings. There are just quite a few dark romance books and novellas with similar themes - masked man chases woman, cue spice. There wasn't much character background, but there was a enough that I wanted to read the follow up to see if Knight delved more into the characters and their depths. Boy, did Knight deliver.

This is a hot steamy read. They are step siblings. Malik is your unhinged borderline law breaking MMC. He’s the psycho that we all love to read.

This is a novella. Please be aware you are not getting a massively in depth novel. This does not hinder the story in my opinion at all.

I am have such a hard time decided which of Mae’s books is my favorite because I am in love with every character for so many reasons.

Love a good spicy novelette!! This is my first time reading anything by Mae K. Knight and I can't wait to read more of her work! This was a spicy, quick read with the morally grey masked man you should probably be scared of, but you can't help but wish he was real and that was your life. It's taboo ish since they're step siblings, but nothing crazy enough to deter you from reading it. It's an anytime read in my opinion, but even more perfect right here at spooky season! Definitely read this one!!

After leaving the bathroom, he removes the costume. She comes out of the bathroom and he takes her to their lake house. She opens the glovebox and discovers the costume. They have a chase scene through the woods. She is hung upside down after tripping a booby trap. He has his way with her again.
