Leaving the Marines and returning to the Tormented Souls clubhouse to live with my brother, the president, wasn't as easy as I thought it'd be. I have too many secrets, too many scars to hide from the world. I thought the years away would've dulled the crush I've had on Ellis since I was a child. They didn't.
He's got his eye on me and nothing I say will change his mind. Not even when my boyfriend shows up and he finds out the darkest, most embarrassing secret I have. He thinks it's the only one I have, little does he know, I have a bigger, scarier one that I absolutely refuse to share.
**WARNING: CONTAINS ADULT CONTENT - Also, please don't bother reading if you think being in the Marines leaves you unfeeling and cold without the need for comfort when far far away from home. Don't read this if you have problems with LOTS of sexy scenes or sex. There is vulgar language used so if that bothers you, probably best to skip this book**

In Flight – an Erotic Short Story (MFM) – An adventurous overworked Summer takes on a pair of sexy older twins. AND Her Ride – a full length novel (MF) – A former female Marine, Ryan, is getting out of the service. While trying to find herself again, she lands at her older brother’s house, which also happens to be where her childhood crush and the motorcycle club her brother runs hangs out.
It was hard to read and get into. Ryan's emotions and temperament were all over the place. She was bad ass and then she was a door mat. She was independent then she was needy. It could've been better if it were more consistent.
4 stars and one of the HOTTEST books I've read in a while. ARC provided to G the Book Diva Blog in exchange for an honest review* ENTER BELOW TO WIN AN EBOOK COPY
Wow, Ellis was unbelievably sexy but also someone you don't want to mess with...
He'll destroy anyone who hurts Ryan and will do it with a smile. I love a strong female character and Ryan was definitely that. It takes a tough chick to be around a bunch of badass bikers and still get respect. We learn that Ryan has a secret which eventually explains some of her odd behavior. Sometimes she was this take no shit kind of girl and then for no apparent reason she'd become this weak and cowering person. It was frustrating at first but eventually it started to all make sense.
A good first novel in the series. Plenty of action, plenty of secrets and plenty of hot sex! I will definitely be following.

I'll admit I'm a bit of a biker book whore. I've read tons already and I just continue to read them like they are an addiction.
The synopsis for Her Ride did it's job and made me need to read it almost immediately. I'm glad I decided to read it. Out of the many biker books I have read, Her Ride will forever stick out for me. Not only did it have hot male bikers but it had a kick-ass female biker as well.
The characters were raw. Shannon (Ryan) has had a tough life and faces a tougher future but she still stands strong. You couldn't help but feel for her with everything she was going/went through. Ellis, aka Dirty, is an alpha biker that had me swooning and ready to drop my panties at any given moment. The chemistry between them was HOT and the sex scenes were even HOTTER.
The story line was fresh and unlike any other biker book I have read before. I would give you a layout of some of the story but just take my word for it this is one book you HAVE to read.
This is my first book by Rachael and it will definitely not be my last. She has blown me away and quickly has made me her fan for life. I can't wait to see what she has in store for Patrick's story in Her Journey.
I do love a good meaty story, and I do love a good biker romance but sometimes I wonder if the biker setting is an unnecessary distraction. This book dealt with so many topics that are in of themselves serious enough, they could have just been written as a good family drama in the romance genre or a military setting and not an MC. Ryan was a Marine and that in itself made her an interesting and strong woman (you have to be to survive in that world). Her Ride was more a journey of self-discovery and revelations of secrets that should not have been kept from family members, especially since Ryan and her brother were so close. Many books deal with topics of abuse of women, serious illness, heartbreaking life changes and reuniting with past loves...and this book dealt with all of these things in depth. The sex was hot and plentiful and at times put me in sensory overload, but it confused me how such a strong woman trained as a Marine, could have allowed herself to be a victim, abused by her boyfriend sexually, emotionally and physically. She has a biker brother and Ellis, the man who would do anything for her...so although something eventually put a stop to the abuse, it was upsetting it went on as long as it did. A different and emotional type of biker book with less emphasis on club life and more on personal relationships and going on a ride for your life.
**** 4 **** "proving to be the right one for you" stars
I couldn't wait for this book to go live on Amazon to purchase my copy of it. I'd been fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to read it early and I literally couldn't put this book down until I'd finished it. I loved it. The characters were great. Ryan is one strong, tough, independent woman most of the time. Ellis, well he's just gorgeous, sexy, makes me melt into a puddle on the floor type gorgeous. I don't want to say too much about the storyline as I don't wish to ruin it for others but I'm not an easy person to please with books and very few can have me glued to them. Well, Her Ride did. I started reading it one morning and couldn't put it down. I sat in my nightie all day, hair not brushed, never ate, I just read. This book put me through every emotion possible and there's some twists in the story I hadn't expected but it was so good. Once I'd finished I was in a real book funk for awhile. I loved it and highly recommend it. I've read Rachael Orman's books before and with her you always get something that's a little different and I love that about them.
Wow! Rachael blew me away! I absolutely fell in love with the awesomeness that is Ryan! She is an incredibly tough character filled with the same feelings and pitfalls that most women suffer from. She is just a hell of a lot better at hiding it! I thought it was so awesome that instead of making the men the badasses in the story, Rachael made Ryan the badass!
Ellis is so so so sexy! From the moment he came to pick her up to the end I was drooling! I loved that Dirty seemed so perfect for Ryan! I knew that the man that got Ryan had to be incredibly strong and worthy of her! There are a lot of things that happen in this book that gives you a moments pause, but you never think anyone is as good for Ryan as Ellis.
I dug Patrick even though he had moments where he could be a real ass, but it always came from a good place. This is my first Rachael Orman novel and I am fully invested in seeing what she has up her sleeve next! If you follow my reviews you know I don't do spoilers (often), so go pick up this awesome new book and give it a shot! You won't regret it!

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."
This is a book which deals with a number of difficult issues in a new and refreshing way. It turns stereotypes on their head, and made me both smile and cry. The main characters are so vividly brought to life, that I became invested in their futures. I've read many biker stories, so got the backdrop, yet it was never really a feature of the book, which I rather liked. I read military stories, but again that was in the background. Our focus is firmly on Ryan and Ellis; a friendship and an unexpected romance. It was hot, it was thought provoking and it ends promising us another story - and I for one cannot wait!
Her Ride was definitely a rush of a ride to read! Racheal Osborn has created a novel based around bikers that is not your typical “biker book”. The plot is excellent with Ryan (Shannon Ryan) returning home from the military, to the life she left behind and the man she thought she could forget. Striving to make it on her own, away from the gang and her brother’s over protective ways, she walked into a situation that rocked the world around her and has left her with many secrets she isn’t willing to share. But with a boyfriend that demands to know your every move, a brother who has someone constantly looking over her shoulder and reporting back to him she feels trapped………Something has to give but not everything is that easy.
Ryan is the nickname she grew up with as Shannon Ryan and her brother were orphaned at an early age leaving him to take care of her. Being in a motorcycle gang left her in an environment that has her wanting to prove she was not just another “girl” and she worked hard to earn their respect and standing like any man would within the gang which is how she acquired the name Ryan. No one calls her Shannon anymore, no one. At 16 she joined the military because she felt trapped by her Brother Patrick’s overbearing protectiveness. The book begins the day she comes home just over 6 years later. Ryan has not lost any of her attitude and is still one fiery, feisty woman who has desires that run deep and hot, with a fine line between pain and pleasure.
What she doesn’t expect is to run straight into her childhood crush Ellis (Dirty) and straight into a wall of mixed emotions and feelings, she thought she was over him…….Maybe she just needs to get him out of her system. But with Jeremiah in the background things aren’t always that easy.
Ellis is one hell of a sexy, well defined Greek God of an man – the way he is described you could bounce quarters off his ass they are that hard….hmmm… Ellis has always had his eye on his best friend’s sister but that is one of the main reasons he has never acted upon any of his thoughts. When she comes home 6 years later, not only does he realise just how much he has missed her and that he will never let her go again (he just has to convince her of that) he realises just what he has been missing because she is fit, lithe, provocative, stubborn and has a body to die for, but also is loving and loyal – the perfect woman. There is only 2 thing standing in his way: Patrick, her brother, his best friend and head of the gang, and secondly Ryan’s Boyfriend Jeremiah. His mission to show her he is the man for her and that she can let her walls down to someone is something that is not going to come easy……..Does he have the patience to wait or will he force them down?
Secrets, revelations and even things that will leave you stumped are all interwoven in the plot of Her Ride, along with this Amazing romance between Ryan and Ellis – the sexual tension between them is something you can almost touch it’s that thick! I have only one negative and that was the end seemed a little rushed, once Ryan’s secret was out. The book has taken it’s time putting out all of the information about the plot out, going into great detail, leaving you wanting more but the ending is short but sweet shifting gears somewhat. The plot had a whole availability for it to be slightly longer which I think would have balanced it out a bit more. There is going to be Her Ride #2 but that is Patrick’s Story and I cannot wait to get my hands on it when the time comes.
Rachael Orman is a very talented author, with a natural gift for writing and I think she is really going to go very far! 5 STARS *****
Shannon Ryan comes home from the military to her brother, Patrick's, house. She plans on staying for a few months before hitting the road on her bike. She will have to stop in DC to sign her discharge paperwork, but then, she plans on riding with no destination in mind. As soon as Ryan gets home, she runs into her brother's second in command, Ellis. Patrick and Ellis are part of a motorcycle crew, so they have road names, as does Ryan, but she doesn't really call them that very often, so I don't think of them, in my mind, by their road names. I actually sometimes got thrown off when any of these three were called by their road names because I didn't recognize them by those.
Ellis is basically Ryan's teenage crush, and it seems like he has finally begun to return the feelings. Ryan has a long time boyfriend, however, in Jeremiah, who is still overseas in the Marines. Things kind of seem to fall apart for Ryan after this. You begin to see that the person that Ryan thinks she is - this tough, almost ex-marine, biker chick - is really not her at all. Sure, she has dealt with a lot of things in her life, such as losing her parents at a young age, being raised by her older brother, who formed a biker group, joining the Marines, and other things, but she truly seems like she has formed that tough exterior only because she had to. She doesn't really seem to do the tough attitude, biker chick thing very well. She has let Jeremiah run all over her for several years, and she always seems to be a little out of place at her brother's house. I'm not sure if that is intentional, but it doesn't really seem to me like she is a good fit where she is.
Ryan also has one of the characteristics that I truly dislike because she ends up having some really major secrets that she doesn't want to tell anyone about so as not to "trouble" them - the martyr types drive me nuts! The things is, both Ellis and her brother, Patrick, tell her multiple times that they are there for her and that they want to help her with things. They don't even know some of the really big things that she needs help with, either. They come through for her, however, after a particularly tough visit from Jeremiah, and Ellis and she begin to form a closer relationship. They take of for DC on Ryan's planned trip, and it is on that trip that Ellis begins to see everything that Ryan has been hiding from them. He helps her see that it is okay to ask for help and that others really do want to help her.
I enjoyed seeing all of the growth that Ryan had to go through. She lost her parents at a young age and then had to face some other tough things. She tried to prove to herself that she could handle everything, however, by joining the military, but it took coming back home for her to learn that strength is often about asking for help. I really loved seeing that she finally got that by the end of the book. It sounds like Patrick's story is next, which I look forward to reading, as well! My copy did have several grammatical errors, but I have since received word from the author that the updated/about to be released copy has been fixed.

I just finished Her Ride and I really liked it. Anything with bikers is a go for me, as you all know. Ryan has been in the military for awhile and is on her way home to take a break and then do some soul searching. She has a lot to think about, some secrets are known and some are hidden but either way she has some tough decisions to make. Leaving a very overbearing and jealous boyfriend Jeremiah to seeing her over protective brother Patrick can put a damper on things. What makes things a little bit complicated is Ellis. Her one time crush or so she thought until she saw him. Ellis is acting different towards her too. He has tamed his wild ways and has finally seen the light….Ryan. Ryan doesn’t know what to think. First, she is in a relationship now grant it, she is wanting to end it with Jeremiah so that makes way for Ellis. With so many secrets, she does not want to put Ellis through all her emotional problems but what Ellis when Ellis doesn’t take no for an answer? You will have to read and see…
I really enjoyed this book. I thought it flowed really well and like I said I am all about bikers so this was right up my alley. I will say that I thought that it was tamer then some other biker books that I have read recently. Did it take away from the story, nope, I still enjoyed it. I liked that it was in her point of view, you really got to see her. I am all for both point of views but this was ok that it was just her. I could still feel Elli’s character and sometimes you don’t get that when it is just in one view.
Ellis was a hottie, that’s for sure. He was sexy and sweet and he really just wanted to project Ryan. That is the alpha in him and I do not blame him for that. Ryan was a touch girl. I liked that most about her. She didn’t take anyone’s crap but at times was vulnerable and even though you find out things about her, it still made her real. I loved the chemistry between Ellis and Ryan, it was over the top but you will not getting any complaints from me about that. They both were dirty and couldn’t get enough from each other and I wanted more.
I liked the secondary characters and I like how Rachael is setting up for the next in the series. Patrick is a hottie too and cannot wait to see what his story will be like. Other characters like Monk and Brew, yummy. Im just gonna sit here “patiently” waiting! NOT!!
This was a first read for me from Rachael and I know that this is more out of her comfort zone from what I heard on other books that she has written but she did an amazing job. She should be proud
This is not your typical biker book. I was warned by the author herself that I would either love it or hate it !! She was wrong , I loved and hated it and loved it again !!
(Shannon) Ryan took me by surprise. She is just getting home after 7 years serving in the US Marines so you know she is going to be BAD A$$ !! Her character went way beyond. Almost too much for me at times. I had a hard time connecting with her emotionally at first. She has a very gritty attitude and she really could pass as a guy with the things she says and the way she thinks about sex. This flows with the story because her brother runs the Tormented Souls MC and since their parents died this is the life she has lived while not in the Marines. The lifestyle she chose to live and the horrible things that have happened to her in her past have made her into this hard closed off person. Once she thaws my connection with her was almost instant !!
Jeremiah , Ryan's boyfriend, is a nasty piece of work. Their relationship baffles me and I was more than pleased with his exit from the story. It is crazy to think Ryan put up with that crap.
Patrick , Ryan's brother and the rest of the gang , are all excited she is home and they are the only family she has. It is fun to read about them having a good time and also nice to get to know them a little. Patrick seems to be a great brother but at the same time his no nonsense attitude and urge to control everyone is a little much to deal with.
Ellis is totally book boyfriend worthy !! He may talk dirty and act nasty at times but right from the start he is open and honest with his feelings. Let's not forget he is hot as sin and sex with him is remarkable to read about !! The way he steps in to protect Ryan always and then steps up to join her on her journey is a beautiful story of love and healing.
If you come into this story expecting MC drama , violence, tons of sex , tattoos , hot guys and fun you will get all that but WAY MORE as well. This is a story of Ryan's journey.
Struggling with a huge secret that will tear people apart , trying to escape the wrong love while possibly finding the right love , choosing to be alone or giving in and letting someone be a part of it all and finding herself again. This is Ryan's story , not nicely wrapped with a bow but ripped open and laid out their raw , gritty and real. I was intrigued and quickly hooked from the start , a horrified mess in the middle and a blubbering fool towards the end. I love how the story comes full circle and sets you up for the excitement of Patrick's story !!
Thank you Rachael I am a fangirl impatiently waiting for more !!
Ok... so I admit I am a sucker when it comes to a book about a motorcycle club, but this book is unlike any other biker book.
Shannon Ryan is just getting home to visit with her brother and his motorcycle club. She is going to waste what leave she has left from the military before she gets out having fun, living life, and enjoying finding some peace on her bike. She wants to forget about everything that has happened and focus on what lies ahead of her and how her decisions will ultimately affect the rest of her life.
Ellis "Dirty" Crane has been Ryan's crush for as long as they have known each other. Ellis is the second in command to Ryan's brother in their motorcycle club Tormented Souls. He has sat back and watched the woman Ryan has become and is determined that this time she will not slip away from him, and that he can be the type of man that she needs, even if she doesn't know it yet. He let her get away once and is not going to let that happen again, even if he has to go through her brother to get their.
When these two are around each other sparks fly, but their are a few complications in their way. The first one being Shannon's boyfriend Jeremiah. The problem is, she doesn't know how to get rid of him, and Ellis doesn't want to over step his bounds in an off sort of way and not to mention, Patrick, Shannon's brother and Ellis's best friend would kill him if he even suspected Ellis having feelings towards his sister... or would he?
I feel in love with Shannon Ryan from the very beginning of this book. She is not your typical woman in means of being prissy and needing to have some one do things for her. She is a marine who will not hesitate to put any man in his place... to say it lightly don't PISS Her off.... She is not afraid to be sexy, show her stuff, and yet tell you how it is. She can be tough when she needs to be of soft and feminine other times, which makes Ellis fall even harder for her. This book kept me hanging on by a thread all the way to the end. The sex in this book was hot and was out of this world in means of heating up and throwing your imagination in overdrive. Then when you don't expect it the curve that Rachael Orman hits you with will have you setting there with your mouth hanging open going NO NO NO... The beauty of it is how she takes this twist and turns it into something wonderful. I will gladly reread this story over and over again. I can say that it is a great story that has a strong willed woman who gives it her all and even though it is a motorcycle book, it doesn't place all of the focus on the club members... it is a truly wonderful story

4 SEXXY STEAMY STARS!
Ok so it can be said that I am a sucker for a hot, erotic, sexy, naughty, and down right raw MC book and this book did not disappoint! Whoa. This is one sexy, deliciously sinful ride with some surprises thrown into the mix!
Shannon Ryan is coming home. She is in the U.S. Marines and after serving several years, she is finally coming back to home soil and be with her family for a three month reprieve before she leaves the military for good. Though it is hard, she is coming to terms with the decision. As she is settling in with her brother Patrick and his MC club, Tormented Souls, a blast from the past reappears. She did not expect her childhood crush, her brother's best friend, and second in command of Tormented Souls, Ellis aka "Dirty" to stir up feelings inside her again or set her body on fire.
It seems like a dream come true OR her worst nightmare for Ryan but there is two tiny little bitty problems... her boyfriend Jeremiah (oh yes, she already has a man) AND her brother, Patrick. As Ryan and Dirty dance around each other, old feelings resurface and the sparks begin to fly. It is only a matter of time before they... IGNITE! And when they do, hold on to your panties lady's because it is about to be ONE. HOT. RIDE.!
Will Ellis be able to get to Ryan? Will he be able to penetrate the walls that she has built up around her heart? Will Jeremiah let Ryan go? Is there someone else who is a threat to her happiness? What secrets is Ryan keeping?
This book is a quick read that will have your kindle threatening to burst into flames. This book is hot. This book is sexy. This book is downright naughty. I loved Dirty. I loved his dirty talk (there is something about a man and the way he can make you feel by just talking) and how he was so possessive and loved to take control. I also like Ryan. God, she was so strong and resilient. I also liked how she didn't take shit.
I liked how this book did not center around just the MC (I mean there is all the stuff that MC books have- the club, jealous women, club whores, possessive biker, etc...) but focused more on Ryan. There are also quite a few twists in this book that will have you on the edge of your seat flipping the pages as fast as you can and just when you think you figured it out... BAM!
This is my first book by this author and it definitely won't be my last! :) Come on baby... let's have Patrick's story!
I love me some bikers, but Ellis takes the cake I fell in love with him right off, "I don't know what I have to do to make you realize that I am here and I'm willing to do anything to have you. I think I've made that pretty obvious since you came back that I want you." Sometimes he sounded like a girl, but I totally get where he was coming from, "oh. I get it." Ellis clenched his jaw, stepping back from me. "You just used me to get off and now things go back to the way they were. I get it. Loud and clear." I liked that sometimes Ellis's body would give Ryan little surprises in the morning, "as I moved closer to the bed, I could see the tip of his pen** sticking out the elastic band on the top of his shorts. I glanced up to see if he was aware that I had returned, but he hadn't moved. His arm still covered his eyes even though he stopped snoring." Ellis treats Ryan differently then he would other girls and Ryan has to keep reminding the boy that she's not a fragile little flower, "I'm not as fragile as I look. You can eff me hard against any surface you want." I smirked at him. His hand grabbed my a** and squeezed it. "Sometimes hard is good." I don't think the scene was supposed to be humorous but when Ellis starts talking about his 'member' as a completely different person I almost peed myself laughing, "he grabbed my hand and pressed it to his bulging erection to emphasize his point. "Baby, be ready when I get back; he is all yours and he's going to be desperate for you. Hell, he already is." There was another character that stood out in this book that I really can't wait to see him get a story and that's Patrick he was the sometimes sweet, but bada** overbearing, caring brother.
Rachael Orman knows how to write hot sex scenes. Ok, with that said lets me on to content and characters. At first I did not like her main character Ryan aka Shannon Ryan. I was annoyed and irritated with the character. I was literally rolling my eyes and I wanted to slap the character and place her in check. Maybe because the character was written well, a little to well because this character actually reminded me a of a person I use to know.
Once the Ryan set out of her trip to D.C. I started enjoying her more. I started to see her in a new way. I believe that was kind of the point given in the book. Ryan had to leave her home to be who she is because the biker club life made her act differently, she had to put on a whole new different front living in her old house with her biker club member brother.
As I read on, I kind had an inner hunch that there was something else going on with Ryan. Maybe it’s my detective skills but to me it was easy to guess. However, I did like the direction of the story.
Great creativity for biker club name. The negative remark would be not to call the club a gang, due to the fact motorcycle clubs do not like being referred to as a gang. Maybe if a character said it that was not part of the club that would be different.
Great nicknames for club members.
And…Please remember very hot sex scenes.
I look forward to reading the next book part of this series, which will be Patrick’s story aka Wrench.
Holy Hell!!!! I loved this book! I've never read a motorcycle club book before and now I know what I've been missing out on. This book was sizzling with hints of danger all over the place.
I love Ryan. She's a bad ass chick, even though she allowed one man to break her once in her life. Other than that she stands up to everyone and stands up well. She knows how to handle her business and isn't afraid to get a little dirty.
Speaking of "Dirty"... OMFG--wait till you meet Ellis a.k.a. Dirty. There's no way you won't fall in love with this man. He's the second in the MC club and he is beyond HOT!!!! With Ryan only do you see the softness he can show and it will melt you every time.
I can't leave out Patrick, her brother, who is the leader of the club. Some would find him way too over protective and a brute, but I thought he was awesome. I have three overprotective brothers and to me Patrick's character is perfect. Not only is he a big brother looking out for his little sister, who had to take over her care after their parents die, but he's the head of a MC. Doesn't that just scream of an overbearing personality? I can't wait to read more about him!
I loved the internal battle Ryan had with wondering if she could care for someone or if it was best to keep her heart locked off. And when you find out her secret, your heart breaks for her. This book was written so well and takes you through every emotion. Plus the sex scenes were smoking H-O-T!!!
I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! I read this in two sittings it was so good. Everyone should one-click this!
I was not expecting this story from this genre of book. It is much more than your typical MC story or even your typical romance story. It has a no nonsense and straight shooting approach in the way that it deals with these issues. This is in no way diminished the impact of these issues but brings them out into sharp and stark focus.
Ryan joined the military to escape from the MC life but she couldn't escape from the harsh realities of life. She tries desperately to hide her mistakes and choices from those she cares about but ultimately these things have a way of coming out into the open. Ryan has a strength and courage beyond what is expected for any woman but with this comes great respect for her. There was one thing that she did not count on in her 'plan' and that was to fall in love.
Ellis comes across as a big bad MC man, which he is, but underneath he has a softer side particularly when it comes to Ryan. He is the piece that is missing from her life, determined to make her happy and put her needs first. How will he react when Ryan's secrets start to be revealed?
Ryan's ride is a journey of self-discovery and it equally becomes one for Ellis too as they both discover and realise what is important in life. It is an emotional read and Ryan's courage draws you into the story. It is equally action packed but equally deals with issues that some might find distressing. For me, although this had some typical MC stuff going on in the background, this raised the bar in the genre with it’s atypical story dealt with in the unique, uncompromising way of an MC.
I'm a huge fan of MC / Biker romances, that's what drew me to this book in the first place, but this book is slightly different as it focus mainly on Ryan who is the sister of the president of an MC club. We did get to see a bit of the MC life but that's a back story and Ryan's life is the main story, there is the usually biker whores, sexiest bikers, over protective brother and a hot alpha biker with a hidden softer side to make this a really enjoyable read !
Shannon 'Ryan' has been away serveing in the military for the last 7 years, she's returns on 3 months leave before she leaves the military life for good, when she left she also left her teen crush Ellis 'dirty ' Her brothers best friend. Ryan believes that her young crush will be over , but it's soon apparent that they are some really strong feelings still there, a few problems stand in their way Ryan's over protective brother and an controlling boyfriend ! I really liked both Ryan and Ellis. Ellis is a big bad biker but as he gets deeper in with Ryan we see a softer side to him appear which is a big difference to other biker books we rarely see the person behind the biker, this leads to some really tender moments between the pair ! I thought the ending was a little rushed and would have liked to see how their relationship was I that year, the sex scenes were really hot but and I hate saying this I thought there was a little bit too much sex , just to pad the story out I would have like a bit more story, saying all that though I really enjoyed this read and I'm eager to read the next book Patricks story !
This book was different from any other MC book that I have ever read. Shannon Ryan, or Ryan as everyone calls her, grew up around a Motorcycle Club while brother raised her after their parents died when she was a teenager. Then she joined the military. But she did not plan on living the MC life after she got out of the military; she was hiding secrets from her brother and everyone who knew her. Ellis “Dirty” Crane is the second in command in Ryan’s brother’s club and he is also the man that Ryan had a crush on when she was a kid. But now after serving seven years in the military Ryan is not a kid anymore and Dirty is not the same man that he was when she left all those years ago.
I really loved the characters in this book. Ryan was tough as hell but she also had a soft side to her. I admired the way that she did not want to lay all of her problems on other people, even though there were a few times that I wanted to reach out an slap her for not telling her brother and the others who cared about her what was going on. Dirty showed us that not all bikers are always tough as nails, hard-core guys. Dirty had a soft sweet side that I totally fell in love with. He is now one of my top biker book boyfriends.
This book had a lot of different issues that it addressed in it and I found myself experiencing so many different emotions while reading it. I laughed, screamed, cried, the sex scenes were hot as hell. This was definitely a 5 star read for me and I can’t wait to read about Patrick, Ryan’s brother.
I was provided a copy of the book by the Author for an honest review.
WOW HOLY SMOKE, I just finish reading this book, and I love it, love the characters, and love how the book turn out to be, I have to say that this is not what I was expecting, when I started reading this book, I couldn't put the book down, I love it I am gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.
The story begging with Shannon (A.K.A) Ryan, she is Patrick sister, he is the president of the MC Tormented Souls. After being in the United States Marine for seven years, she is finally home, when she gets off the plain she is met up with Patrick best friend Ellis, he is the second in command for the Tormented Souls. Ryan had always had a crush on him, but all that had change now that she is back, she has a boyfriend who being with him for two years, but her feelings for Ellis are still their, and Ellis had made it clear that he wants her, but the only thing stopping him is Patrick and Jeremiah, would he fight for her, or would he let the MC get in the way.
I really love and enjoy reading this book, I love the banter that is going on between Ellis and Ryan, I love Ryan attitude love it that she does what ever she want, and she don't take crap from anyone, love the way how Ellis is with her love it how he always getting away for her to melt for him, and the way this two are when they have not banter going its just hot love it, Author Rachael Orman THANK YOU for introducing me to this awesome characters and this amazing great book love it. Cant wait to read it again :)
Ryan has just come back home after 7 years away in the Military and she's got some things to settle up at home. Her entire life there she's been surounded by the men of her brother Motorcycle Club and she definitely one of the boys, nut her brother's best friend and her childhood crush is finally seeing her as a woman instead of a child. But there are allot of things keeping them apart, including her boyfriend. Can the two work through all their issues and will their personalitles keep them from starting anything.
Ryan is a tough ass in some ways but very weak in others and just when I was really enjoying her character bam there were parts that made me not like her quite so much. Ellis is a tough guy all the time except when he's around Ryan then he's sweet and caring. My only problem with him was his unwillingness to man up and tell her brother they were together.
The two are hot and steamy when their alone, but in Public they are both scaredy cat when it come to PDA in front of other bikers like they are ashamed of being themselves. There are a plethora of problems the two must face throughout keeping you wondering as to what was going to happen next. There was allot of stuff going on but I did have a difficuly time connecting to the characters at times and it made it harder to get into the story. There are parts I did enjoy and the sex scenes were out of this world. ;)
Sometimes, you just need to say OMFG...out loud...several times...even when people are around...because you read this book...and fell in love...with a book.
Ryan, Ryan, Ryan, you break my heart! A tough girl who's been forced to be a little hard edged due to life and circumstance, but has a vulnerable side that most people don't get to see. Poor girl's been some not-great situations, but still manages to kick ass and keep her chin held high. She just seems to melt a little around Ellis, but come on, who wouldn't? He's all alpha except when he's with Ryan. That's when the gentleness comes out, the walls fall down, and we get to see a guy willing to lose his rough exterior to make her happy and ensure she can be a little vulnerable, even if she doesn't realize she needs it.
The book is full of twists that come at you when you don't expect them and keeps you in suspense the entire time. I love that you also get to see the characters evolve as they get closer together and learn new things about each other. You see them become more comfortable not only with each other, but with themselves as well. It's the perfect mix of harsh personalities and tender qualities.
I couldn't wait to get to the end because I needed to know how it finishes, but was completely sad when it was all over. I need more like this!
This is not a typical Motorcycle Club story. This is about a female who grew up in the club as her brother becomes president of the club while she went off and joined the military for the past seven years and has return home.
Shannon Ryan is on leave when she come home having to make a few decisions before she officially leaves the military. She plans to disappear after she signs off in Washington, DC so she can leave her abusive military boyfriend. Shannon has other secrets that she has kept from her over protective brother.
Ellis Crane is second in command and is Shannon’s longtime crush as a teenager. When she returns, he sees that she is no longer the wild girl who used to follow him around. He knows that his relationship with her brother the president will be affected and there is her boyfriend in the way.
Things heat up between the two of them as they sneak around her brother’s place. Will they admit what they have is more than just physical? Will Shannon get away from the clutches of her boyfriend abusiveness or will it be her end?
Can Shannon share her secrets with Ellis before her world crumbles down or will they get a chance at tomorrow? Will they survive what life throws them and make them stronger? Interesting read.
First off a big thank you to Dream Come True Promotions for providing us with an ARC of this book so that we could bring you this review.
Wow did I love this story. Man the heat factor is high with this book. The connection between Ryan and Ellis is almost instant. Though Ryan has had a pretty hard life for a big portion of it and still has a lot of struggles ahead of her, she is a very strong character and refuses to let thing get her down. She's a fighter and has proved it over and over in this book. Ellis is definitely one of those sexy characters that you want to jump through the book and take for yourself. Though he is a hard, tough guy he is able to show Ryan his soft side and how much one can change for love.
There is so much sizzling love between these two when they finally allow themselves to give over to it. This is one book I promise you will start reading and wont be able to stop until your done. It happened to me, once I started it I didn't even realize how much, how quickly I was reading this book until I was finished. I just couldn't stop reading it.
Her Ride is the story of Shannon Ryan (AKA Ryan) and Ellis (AKA Dirty). Ryan has returned home to spend time with her brother Patrick after a long stint in the military. Patrick is an MC President of the Tormented Souls MC and she fits right in with the rough bikers that she calls her family.
One biker in particular sends sparks throughout her body and that is Dirty. He’s the MC Vice President and her brother’s best friend and has known Ryan since she was a teenager. He notices she is no longer a teenager but a strong and fit woman and he can’t stop thinking about her.
Ryan is hiding secrets and she doesn’t want to become too attached to Dirty but she can’t fight the attraction and pull they feel when they around each other.
This book held my interest from the start and the sex scenes are rough, hot, steamy, sexy and drool-worthy and Dirty is just delicious!
Ryan is a strong female character and Dirty is the perfect partner for her.
This is the start of a new MC Series that I will continue to read as they as released.
I was given a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed by Tanya.
This book seriously was fantastic...I loved how tough the heroine was...she was a Biker brat,Marine & had guy friends rather than girlfriends...I loved her..but & I say BUT carefully...I loved the book yet I hated it...it made me cry so hard..my god what a headache I had...now I worry book 2 will shatter me if they all end up almost dying or do die...I`m SPENT!!!!!!!!!!! *gulp* I know I can be a weenie sometimes...but the "Big C" always affects me deeply as it has touched my family...this book will touch many hearts very deeply, the author is very talented I just hope she spares us from any loss in the continuation of this series...*sniff* that is a major requirement for me to continue with this series, because I absolutely intend to find out about Patrick the heroines brother & president of the club....so obviously we will read more about these two ...if your tough read this, especially if your begging for more books about tough biker b*&%s that ride their own bikes & take care of themselves...beating the stuffin out of the badA$$ big boys that dare to tread on there toes...
If you're into hot, steamy MC books, you'll enjoy this one...I loved Ryan with her tough exterior and the fact that she's hiding more than just one secret, kept me intrigued.Ellis....what can I say? He is one hot-as-hell biker. A true alpha but I loved his softer side that he finally shows Ryan. The sexual chemistry between them is palpable and the sex scenes scorching hot! The urge to scream at Ryan to ride Ellis for all his worth, was a good thing. It fired me up, urging them to get their act together! Jeremiah is the epitome of an arse. What a truly unredeemable character but so brilliant. I loved Patrick and his brotherly, protective ways and the relationship between Wrench and Dirty was great too. I found the end of the story a little rushed, however. It had taken such a long time to get to the point where Ryan finally opens up to Ellis, to share her secret, and no sooner does she, then it's over. All in all though, the characters are well thought out and draw you in easily. It's a quick, delightful read that I'm sure will go down well.
I liked this book but I felt like I was missing some of the connections between me and the characters. There was definitely hot scene and sexual tension through the roof between Ryan and Ellis. I wanted to like and root for Ryan but I was lacking that connection. Ryan has just returned to her brother's MC Club after a term in the military. She has secrets that she doesn't want to be uncovered and boyfriend she is trying to escape from. Ellis has been waiting for Ryan to return since the day she left to tell her how he really feels about her. But when she returns, she isn't the same Ryan. Can he get to the bottom of the change or will her secrets destroy everything? Ellis is a HOT man that I wouldn't mind being on the back of his motorcycle!! He means business at all times and takes care of his family the only way he know how...his fists. Ryan isn't a woman he can control but he doesn't want that anymore. Can he break through her and help her or is she too far gone? BE WARNED!! This is a TEAR JERKER!!! Good read and excited to see what else might be store for this MC Club.
Shannon Ryan is United States Marine that is finally returning home after seven years overseas. Ryan is ready to leave the military behind, but coming home to live with her brother Patrick and his motorcycle club Tormented Souls is much more difficult than she ever imagined. Ellis “Dirty” Crane is the second in command for Tormented Souls and Ryan’s childhood crush. Ellis’ only objective is the club until Ryan returns home and he realizes she isn’t the wild child that used to follow him around.
He realizes there are only two things that stand in his way when it comes to Ryan, her brother Patrick and her boyfriend Jerimiah. Will Ryan let Ellis in? Can he break down the walls that Ryan has put up? Can he make her see that he will do anything for her? Or is there more that Ryan is hiding from the all? Her Ride is great read. The characters are well developed and the story moves quickly drawing you in to the Story of Ellis and Ryan. I would recommend this book.
