Annie Cabot is the author of contemporary women's fiction and family sagas. Annie writes about friendships and family relationships, that bring inspiration and hope to others.
With a focus on women's fiction, Annie feels that she writes best when she writes from experience. “Every woman's journey is a relatable story. I want to capture those stories, let others know they are not alone, and bring a bit of joy to my readers.”
Annie Cabot is the pen name for the writer Patricia Pauletti. A lover of all things happily ever after, it was only a matter of time before she began to write what was in her heart, and so, the pen name Annie Cabot was born.
When she's not writing, Annie and her husband like to travel. Winters always involve time away on Captiva Island, Florida where she continues to get inspiration for her novels.
It takes a lot for a book to have me crying, but this one did. The way the story unfolded was magical. I loved Chelsea in the Captiva series, and she was as on point, as usual. Love your story telling, Annie!
Four sisters, one daughter, and one never-before-known sister, living dysfunctional lives; their futures are far from certain. The bonds of family appear to remain, but a single discovery in their midst and one noble cause turns all of it around in almost a heartbeat.
Welcome to Key West, Florida, and The Paradise Harbor House. This book is challenging to put down. As you read each page, it begs for another. It is nonstop reading, compelling, suspenseful, tender romance, and just an overall delightful read.
The author, Annie Cabot, does a masterful job of creating the perfect emotional storm and then building the most unexpected return to calm and the love all families hope to experience. She brings everyone together through discovery and the noble cause of a women's welfare home, Paradise Harbor House. She tops it off with new, personal love relationships for sisters Leah, Tess, and their niece, Kaitlyn.
Annie cleverly disguises the primary plot. She starts the book with two of the sisters, Leah and Tess, who have given up their seemingly sensible and successful lives in New England and have no ties, marital or otherwise. However, they eventually decided they had had enough of living in the north and transferred themselves to become entrepreneurs in Key West, Florida. It wasn't working. Each new enterprise they tried to launch ends in complete failure. Running out of money, they are forced to return to traditional work for someone else. Now, life is becoming more daunting.
Complications begin to set in further. The daughter of another divorced sister, Gretchen, arrives to visit Leah and Tess in Key West. This is where the curtain rises on the primary plot. Her name is Kaitlyn, and she has just graduated from college, deciding to visit with her aunts and take a breather and reset. Slowly, Annie relates to readers the real reason for Kaitlyn's desire for direction. Kaitlyn has a sister hidden from her by her mother for sixteen years, and Kaitlyn is the one who made the discovery. Kaitlyn is devastated. As Annie makes more of the truth available to the other sisters, the family begins coming off the rails.
This is where Annie artfully uses the Paradise Harbor welfare house to bring the family back together and welcome home Kaitlyn's new sister, Sarah, restoring their bonds, stability, and happiness, and fostering a more profound love for each other, a love they have not experienced for a very long time.
This book has earned a five-star rating. If you want to be entertained, experience soft romance, and feel happiness, I highly recommend this book for your reading list.
Stopped at 8%. I guess most chick-lit is not for me. Note.

Amazing book by a gifted writer ! The characters are sensitive and very realistic. Even the scenery descriptions are beautifully written. This is a story to get lost in. I want more stories about Kaitlyn and Sarah and all the crazy sisters and Will and Jack and Jamie.
Unsatisfactory ending. The sisters meet and get to know each other but the father makes no apologies to Kaitlyn. Jeffrey is cowed by his wife (former mistress) and never really explains why he walked away from his daughter.
