Little sad it’s the last book of the series that I can get. My library doesn’t have her other series either. I enjoyed all 7 books that I read.

Lighthouse Cove is book 7 in the South Carolina Sunsets series by Rachel Hanna.

As we continue with Julie and Dawson and Tyler, William and Janine, Colleen and Tucker, Meg, Christian and baby Vivi, Dixie and Harry and SuAnn along with other characters coming to light...this time it’s Emma Mackenzie who has moved to Seagrove to be the lighthouse’s new keeper and running from her past except it seems the past always finds you..

This story shows their lives ebbing and flowing on a journey through life, twists and turns, ups and downs, making new friends, connecting with old friends and hopefully finding a HEA many decades in the making...

Ms. Hanna has taken us on an unforgettable journey and I am looking forward to more books in this series...

One of the Better Books in the Series

I enjoyed this because it was more down to earth, not filled with a lot of drama, everyone kind of taking it easy in Seagrove. SuAnn did revert back to some of her nosy, hateful ways, but got over them quickly. There was the Spring Festival and then Fourth of July. This time both were more laid back with everyone really enjoying themselves.

This delightful, charming story is just as captivating as the 6 books in this series that came before. Rachel Hanna develops characters that come to life on the page and before one realizes it, they feel like friends. As I read the other books in this series, I anxiously waited for the next one. Each of these books is a visit to the lovely coastal town of Seagrove and the interesting residents.
Dixie and Julie are busy cleaning the bookstore, preparing for the visit of a well-known author who will do a book signing. Julie is also planning daughter, Mia’s, wedding, as well as enjoying life with Dawson, her new husband and raising a new son. Janine, Julie’s sister is now living in Julie’s cottage with her niece, Colleen. Julie’s yoga studio is thriving; however, Janine is ready to settle down and although thankful for such a wonderful boyfriend as William, she’s not sure if he feels the same way.
Colleen, who is still working with and dating Tucker, is also hooked on true crime and mystery videos, which unexpectedly exposed a story involving a resident of their little town. Colleen wrestles with what she should do with what she feels is information, which obviously is a secret.
Emma Mackenzie just moved to Seagrove from Nashville to be the new lighthouse keeper. The lighthouse had been closed for years, but recently restored to include a gift shop and tours. Emma, who has learned everything she knows about lighthouses from YouTube, comes with some secrets of her own.
SuAnn, mother of Julie and Janine surprised them all and when she moved to Seagrove and opened a new bakery. She is consistently on a mission to find out all the latest gossip in their charming coastal town.
As the last page was turned, this engaging story came to an end. Perhaps there will be yet another one!

Emma's story

Book 7 of " South Carolina Sunsets"; Again a wonderful addition, I have enjoy the family of Seagrove. I read and become a part of this community.
Emma has been hired to run the Lighthouse by Henrietta and Major Roger, it has been updated and they thought to have tours and history told as visitors are guided through .
Emma an ex-Police officer involved in a shooting, judged herself, found herself guilty and thought to punish herself! As sad and unfortunately as the shooting death of the serial rapist was, Emma forgot she made an oath to protect and service, she could've
have been killed or the hostage. Her best friend Caroline and her boyfriend Steve hadn't been able to convince Emma to seek counseling.
Colleen accidentally discovers Emma identity and share with her aunt Janine. Janine, having met Emma with her mother SuAnn and sister Julie, felt she had to talk to Emma about what they learned. Janine discovered
a lost woman in great emotional pain need in of a friend.
We also meet Charlotte Mclemore an author visiting for a book signing at Dixie's request. Julie meets Charlotte not knowing she's the author that's coming for the bookstore signing of her books. Charlotte comes to town early and stop by the bookstore when only Julie is there and introduced herself as Anna, they talk and become friendly, Julie even sends Charlotte to their Inn.
Meg, finally tells her mom Julie they want a small wedding, William finally ask Janine to marry him.
Julie, Dawson , Dylan, Meg, Christian, Vivi, Dixie, Harry, SuAnn, Nick, Colleen, Tucker,
Henrietta and Roger are still part of this amazing addition of book 7 in "South Carolina Sunsets". I often tell too much in my reviews, this time " Not"! Get all 7 books and enjoy my home state story of this wonderful community ,town of family and new friends. I await the next book thank you Ms. Rachel!!

I love the feel good simplicity of this series, but there were two things that made me rate down on this particular one.
First the recycled conversation about one of the main females proposing to one of the main males. Even though that’s not ultimately what happened, it seemed odd to essentially recycle that idea.
Second, a real cop would not second guess killing someone and assume they should have shot them in the leg for better results. The femoral artery is in the leg and one of the quickest ways to kill someone even though aiming for a leg vs center mass would also be a horrible choice, because it is hard to hit a smaller moving target.
Things someone without firearm experience may not know, but it makes for unbelievable readership when you are aware.
The book was largely predictable but that’s part of the fun in this series. It’s simple feel good material overall.

This is the seventh book in Rachel Hanna's South Carolina Sunset series and not my favorite by far. Maybe I read this series too quickly in succession, but Lighthouse Cove did not hold the same enjoyment as the other books. A new character, Emma is introduced as the new caretaker to the Seagrove Lighthouse. Emma uses her move to Seagrove as an escape from the problems in her life, just as Julie had done years before. This series is totally character driven and it seems the original characters have settled in their lives so bring in Emma as someone who is not settled. All the books are predictable but the characters were likeable. I think I will take a break from the remaining books in the series for a bit.

The Light in Lighthouse Cove

Lighthouse Cove the seventh book in the South Carolina Sunsets series is another great book by Rachel Hanna. The old lighthouse has been refurbished and so had the small house that wasn't huge but good enough for Emma, the new lighthouse keeper and tour guide. Emma wasn't from a small town but she knew this was a great place to hide away for the time being. Julie, Janine & Colleen were among the first to welcome Emma to town. When they left the lighthouse Colleen mentioned that Emma looked very familiar.
This and many more familiar faces bring you back this small down home town where something exciting is always happening. This is a feel good series where everyone is family, even those not related.

I’m sorry to say that I had trouble getting through this book. The storylines were too far fetched to be believable. A trained officer could be traumatized with an officer involved shooting but therapy is mandatory in those cases. I don’t see a scenario where an officer would literally run away and be ashamed when involved in a standoff with an hostage situation. Much of the dialogue was unrealistic. The first few books I read I enjoyed the last two I struggled to finish. I have three books left in this series and I already purchased another series of 10 by this author. I hope those are more in keeping with the previous ones and not the later.

The South Carolina Sunset Series is located in Seagrove. The lighthouse has been restored and a lighthouse keeper and tour guide has been hired. Emma was attempting to restart her life from the trauma she had experienced in her job and life. Being its keeper sounded like the quiet and peace life she was looking for. Running away seemed to be the only answer but Emma soon found the past follows and haunts your mind. Favorite residents from the past books in the series appear to embrace her journey. A great seventh book to this series. Seagrove is a peaceful place to enjoy life!

Pure chick lit and that's okay. I read books 1-6 the old-fashioned way via paper. And they were fine. This 7th one I picked up via the library in the form of audiobook. DO NOT GO THIS ROUTE. The "voices" the audible narrator used were so bad. Kudos for attempting to try to distinguish characters with different tones. But it was awful. The 8-year-old had a 4-year-old voice. Dixie was all wrong. And Dawson...I don't know what that voice was. Ellen at the end of the book...what is that? But anyway. Book okay. Narrator for audible was not.

More good things at Seagrove

I so wish I could still travel because I'd love to visit places like this and meet these wonderful folks! At this stage of my life, finding authors who can transport me to new places and stories that engage me is such a wonderful escape from the aches and pains of arthritis and the lack of mobility and isolation brought on by the pandemic! I feel like I'm making new friends through these books!

I love the South Carolina Sunsets series. With that said, this book was merely okay. I enjoyed it, but not like the others. Not every single book by an author you like can be perfect. I look forward to the next books in the series and am sure they'll be back to the quality of the previous books. I listened to this one and although the books in the series are shorter than most I read; this one seemed shorter than her usual books in the series.

This, the seventh book in a ten book series, is only 120 pages. It moves quickly, but is very predictable. Even the new character, Emma, who has some trauma hidden in her past, doesn’t take long to figure out. As in the other books, this one has a wedding and a new engagement. Everything seems to go perfectly in the lives of the characters. I’m beginning to tire of the story lines, but will complete the final three books to see if there is anything left in the tank.

Another great book by Rachel Hanna. With the introduction of a new resident who is changing her life as she is trying to cope with things that have happened to her. It is nice to see how a community helps and looks after one another through this series. It was a great time catching up with all the other members or this small town.

Lighthouse Cove-SC

Another excellent book by Rachel Hanna,Lighthouse Cove is based in the low country in SC. Emma comes to SC to start a new life after a very traumatic incident left her feeling she could not live in her town any longer. She had no family to keep her there. Emma becomes friends with Janine and Julie who help her to see she has made a good decision for herself.

Rachel has written a mind-boggling story of a family which has many different scenarios involved.

I've just now purchased BENEATH THE WILLOW TREE, BOOK 8 in this 10 BOOK SERIES & can hardly wait to find up who shows up in Seagrove after many years of being away; from this placid town, most of the time!

This series is running on empty....

Sorry to say, but this series has run its course for me. I really enjoyed the first few books, but it's getting a little too schmaltzy and seems to be plodding along, not really going anywhere exciting. I like a little angst with my romance, and this series is just running on empty. Time to move on to something new.

I've been filling in my deeper books with this series (South Carolina Sunsets). Just a little fluff for easy reading. With this being the 7th in the series I feel like I am friends with the characters. Love their stories and the issues they all deal with. This one gets a little more real but still just a romance.

book 6 and it keeps making me want more

It’s funny, I feel about where I live sort of the same… blessed to be here every day, love the people and the ocean right there… and yet reading this adds a layer of appreciation I didn’t expect and insightful ideas about how to make it even better…
