State 1981 (Dreams of Dynasty) is a celebration of the incredible history of high school hockey in the state of Minnesota. State 1981 deals with the amazing athletic history of the South St. Paul Packers during the time the city was known for having the world’s largest stockyards complex.
The Packer hockey program was a dominant force when dynasties were rising and falling in the world of Minnesota high school hockey. The Packer hockey team, loaded with hockey legends, competed in twenty state hockey tournaments prior to the 1980/1981 hockey season. State 1981 celebrates the rich history of Minnesota hockey, culminating in a fictional retelling of the historic 1981 state tournament.
